  1. Yeah... I'm really sorry but I gotta cancel tonight too. I promise I'm not gonna make a habit of this, but I'm just not confident I can delivery my 100% in a legit lesson today.
  2. Feeling kinda sick... not sure if I should cancel or just go through with it X_X
  3. Sorry all, I've got to cancel the official lesson tonight and move it to Thursday. I don't have enough time to actually go over everything and make the necessary diagrams for tonight as I got home around 9PM yesterday and just passed out until today. I'll still be streaming some kind of show tonight, but it will probably just be a tournament recap and talking about random stuff that happened.
  4. Shoutouts to: Bobby - GJ winning the tournament. You best be using that money for NEC so we can all run it back. Donavan - Cheer up home boy, a battle and its outcome is are two sides of the same coin. shtkn - It appears we will play in every tournament regardless of where it is. Thanks for being a trooper and fighting it out as we've always done. Spark - Thanks for giving me a ride and battling it out with/alongside me. Our fights will continue, regardless of which side we're on. Tari - Thanks for being a bro and also giving me rides. Twintail brotherhood. Huey - As always, it was fun hanging out and talking about the shit that we always do. When you come to SCR we'll get Roscoe's on the first day and watch some Dragonball Z. Wuku - It's good to see you again, thanks majorly for the KBBQ hook-ups. Do better next time so you can actually buy us food! SG - Good shit as always my friend. I know you're still going to fuck everyone up in Extend, so don't be sad. N. Joe - You are blacker than the darkest dawn. Keep it real. Woki - Thanks for getting Spark on our team and being an awesome teammate. I would have been sad if we had to let Spark play before finals. Osuna - Good luck next time guarding the border. We'll be back to destroy PNW someday and you need to be ready. LogicHole - Actually, I don't remember if this is your handle or not. Anyways keep practicing and your day will come! KayEff - Good luck eating Subway for awhile. No, really, good luck. Polka - Yo sup. I apologize for not wearing the PNW shirt I got from you guys, I have no idea where it is anymore. PlasticChicken - It's been awhile hasn't it? We haven't hung out in awhile, but if you're picking up Extend in the future, we'll be sure to meet again. Kaigu - You are one legendary motherfucker. Next time I want to see you put Bobby on blast. Scooter - Wtf I haven't seen you in forever. We didn't get to talk much, but maybe we can have a reunion over GVG. GGJ - Thanks for the constant stream of complements. I don't think I'm really worthy of that praise, but if you're ale to learn something from my play, more power to you. Corsell - You are a super fun guy. You can be a top playa, I know it. Dacidbro - For keeping the BlazBlue flag flying. Let's channel our energy together and make BlazBlue the best it can be. Orion - Good shit on that Tager/Valkenhayn. I wanna see you become NorCal's style-man in Extend. Rin - For keeping the recording shit on lockdown. WallJumpMan - Great showing in the tournament. I'm sure you will continue to be a strong player in Extend. Solex - Good shit stepping up to the competitive plate on chopsticks. You probably need to grind a little more in practice mode though. Lag On the Stream Station - It's unfortunate that there was a bit of lag on the stream setup, likely due to how the station was actually set up. Lag is an unavoidable part of tournaments and competitive gaming, but hopefully in the future the amount can be mitigated to at least the level of an un-split signal. Everyone Else - Generic shoutout to everyone else. The trip was a bunch of shit all happening at once, so I my memories are really jumbled. If we didn't get to talk much, find me at the next event and put me ON NOTICE. Let's all meet again someday!
  5. The frame gap between 2c and dashing and throw depends on distance, but at best it would be exactly 6 or 7 frames. As I mentioned earlier on, the moment the opponent inputs B+C and the throw comes out (specifically, begins starting up), the game allows him to break throws for the next 16 frames. So if the opponent presses B+C in the frame gap correctly and he starts throwing, it will allow him to break it. As for safe throw breaking, the way it works is to purposefully input a throw when a throw attack cannot occur. I was intentionally vague because this could entail a lot of things (inputting throw with 6A+B+C to perform counter assault + throw break + throw or 4A+B+C to barrier + throw break or 1/4~B+C to instant block then throw break or just B+C/4B+C during blockstun etc), but the general idea is what I previously mentioned, if you purposefully attempt to throw break when your throw attack will not occur 100% of the time, that is how you can combine the option with something that allows you to block. I suppose I should have specifically highlighted 4+A+B+C because it is a very simple example, so perhaps next time. I hope that cleared things up a bit.
  6. I'm gonna set up in the casual area pretty soon. I'm gonna grab coffee before I do that though.
  7. My number is 562-215-1818. If you call me before 11AM on Thursday, I will frown.
  8. Come party with us at night. You know we don't sleep.
  9. This. Or is there some kind of parts vendor coming to the venue?
  10. Oh yeah, there's a show tonight. 11/8 at 8pm pst.
  11. I will fite you Corsell. I'll let you pick instead, but if you pick EX it'll be Relius or Makoto (lol).
  12. Thanks for coming out again guys. I think as it becomes colder and colder (and increased chance of rain), I think we need to change venues to an indoor place for the rest of the season.
  13. Don't worry, if you actually exceed the limit just make another thread with the same contents as this one (reserving more posts) and I'll lock this one.
  14. Haven't been checking lately orz, clarification regarding dash under 236D in the corner: When the opponent is hit by 236C and lands on the ground this actually forces an emergency tech, so if they are mashing 6+A/B/C they will still get an emergency tech and tech into place. The player will need to wait X frames for the "emergency tech window" to end, then press 6+A/B/C to tech forward. Because the "X" amount of frames is variable due to your combo's proration, it is extremely difficult for human players to accomplish this, which is why 236D is a legit ender for corner combos as an opponent who is mashing forward tech will more than likely still tech into place. Of course, if you end up facing an anti-lambda god who understands the timing, you will need to use a different setup. Hope that was helpful.
  15. Sure. Regarding the mic, I've used it on stream before, just not in a sound polluted environment.
  16. I have a room at the venue starting Thursday afternoonish. You are free to visit me and play some Extend on Thursday, but if no one is visiting me I'm going to go to the Hatsune Miku concert.
  17. Hey Eric, I've sent you a PM. Please check it and let me know what you think.
  18. I got a second mic. I have no idea how it sounds inside a room with a bunch of people talking and mashing stick buttons. But it's a second mic. Also, it's tomorrow! Show up on time! If it rains... Well, we'll probably switch the orientation of the room such that we'll decrease the amount of moisture. If it pours, we're probably gonna have to call it off though. Edit: Reminder, this week's special event is a two team tournament! Just wait until you find out who the captains are.
  19. It was intentionally a broad, overarching statement regarding Noel from a conclusion I drew from watching the video, which was (direct quote): "With these new tools, Noel seems to be approaching the CS2 levels of firepower, albeit without the CS2 level of safeness and ease of confirmation." While I find this to be clear, I understand how someone could misinterpret it. Maybe I'll write an entire paragraph next time?
  20. Staying relevant to Tao (among other characters): I would argue that because you cannot Optic Barrel in the middle of your drive string, you lose some of the ability to stop your drive string randomly at more difficult to punish places. For instance, because Taokaka has no meterless reversal, Taokaka is forced to think "is it Optic Barrel time?" versus "is there another drive attack coming after this one?" while blocking your drive string until you run out of drive options. Furthermore, I would argue that because you cannot Optic Barrel in the middle of your drive string, you lost some of the ease of hitconfirming when you airhit the opponent. I think this increases the difficulty of the Taokaka matchup in some ways, as you may have been relying on your drive to anti-air into big damage.
  21. Let's not shit up this thread too much, so let's just have a brief lesson in observational statements. If something is bad, but worse later on, then was better previously. Therefore, if something was -34 in CS2, but now -1000 EX, I could still say the "the level of safeness is reduced" and have it be a completely true and informed statement. Even if it wasn't safe before, it was more safe previously than it is now. Does that make sense to you?
  22. Next episode is 11/1. Same time as always.
