  1. You can only ODC special cancelable normals, so no it's not possible to ODC Tsubame.
  2. that isn't really what he said or what I said at all lol LK said to take the big damage when the opportunity was presented, I expanded on that by saying Litchi can nearly always get some form of knockdown + oki so there's no reason to not take that big damage opportunity Basically, the sum of it all is "Why would you not use SMP" or "Why not do the best combo possible". Positional advantage and okizeme is generally a given.
  3. So where's the disagreement here? You can basically make shit up combo wise and still end with proper oki. I'm saying there's no reason not to do the best combo because you wind up in a favorable position either way.
  4. Part of Litchi's power as a character is the fact that you are almost always put in a controlling situation for even tapping your opponent. The theory behind doing the best combo possible isn't really a secret...
  5. It seems like 3/4 the length of 2B or so, as you can see here. It's not the best example since barrier pushback is fairly severe now but it reaches a good distance.
  6. Dunn about you guys, but console isn't even out yet. Be ready to party :toot:
  7. If you don't like it, tough. Stop posting then. This isn't a "rule for just Star-Demon just because", it goes for everyone. I don't know what you're so jaded about and why you eternally repeat "all I get told is you just have to be good" because I'm fairly certain I've never said that to you or anyone with any remote seriousness. I don't know who has. I'm not picking on you, I'm just absolutely sick of people posting totally useless things and it's not just you and again, it doesn't pertain to just you. If you want to continue posting nothing but complaints and continue to be a problem, then I would be more than happy to advocate 'stifling the people that still post'. I don't care how many people play my character or how often they post, I care about the quality of posts and the thought that goes into them and I'm done letting this forum be a joke where we talk about titties, how bad we are or how much we absolutely despise the new changes every single iteration with no reason even though Litchi always turns out strong anyways. All you have to do is pretty much exactly what you just did, which is actually post something, so I thank you for that. That's all I'm asking of everyone who posts here and that hardly quantifies as hating on you. If you see someone posting useless shit, report it or say something. You're a user here too and I hope you'd agree with at least some of my sentiments.
  8. If you've got nothing useful to contribute to a discussion or don't have a question to ask, please refrain from cluttering the thread. Thanks!

  10. She does get a huge damage boost from OD. It's just situational. ODing at high life values with 50 meter, as long as you aren't too close to the opponent, let's you do 5B 5C 3C OD Ryuuisou -> combo for 6k~ damage. There are likely more ways to go into this at lower life values and close to the corner, possibly something like IADing back while Daisharin hits and using Ryuuisou when you land.
  11. Not particularly as you have self-controlled coverage from Daisharin (you were staffless before while Daisharin was active too). The problems come from variable duration and combos during OD actually using Daisharin hits don't seem to do much extra damage but have excellent corner carry. It will likely take some time before the optimal uses of it are really fleshed out.
  12. She is 100% fixed in staffless mode for the duration of her OD. When the OD ends she immediately receives the staff, regardless of how it was set prior to activating OD.
  13. You can make anyone look like a complete scrub if you capitalize on a mistake and keep momentum. There is not one single player this doesn't hold true for and is a large part of what divides strong players from the weaker. None of us are robots, I'm not sure why you're surprised. What you should be watching is not just the Litchi player but why they lost at all. What's the other guy doing well? How is he capitalizing on these grave mistakes you're seeing? These questions are just as important to your learning experience and becoming a better player.
  14. 5, 6 and 8 have really caught my eye. Such nice colors EDIT: E3vE3 if you could condense the video links with coding like this [ url = link here ] Click! [ / url] (take out the spacing to make that work) and place the date in front of it and the name of the player if available after it that'd be great. Just continue using the Azrael thread as a reference. Looks a lot better already with what you've done so far!
  15. A suggestion I'd like to make is to link this and this. For the popular players, post the # of the color, much better than making up names. Also, Dr. Doom is Chou. EDIT: When you get some more time, either clean up your BB coding or have LK/a supermod do it for you, thanks for working to make it look clean by the way. It's appreciated.
  16. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?15327-CP-Azrael-Video-Thread This was already given an example as what should be and what is desired now out of video threads. Also remove your anecdotes after some videos, they clutter up the list and don't serve too much of a purpose. You also need to actually link the match time for ease of viewing (right click -> copy URL at current time frame)
  17. Well generally most mixups can be reacted to and blocked, outside of fuzzy guards and to a lesser extent, low/airdash mixups. All I'm advocating here is that the option is, in my opinion, 100% viable but still remains just that. An option. The if's and or's can also be said for ODing mid-combo. What if you never land that hit? What if you do but you're just never at that right positioning? These situations do come up, start of the round OD lends an alternative option to use. Most people complain when strategy becomes stagnant, I believe this option is a fine example of user decided variance. It's not super-powerful but it definitely has upsides.
  18. Zantetsu is 21 frames, the same speed as hop Tsubaki. It's not slow at all. The animation is more obvious than his other, more lucrative mixup options and even then japanese players still get hit by it. This option's value obviously changes depending on the matchup, if you're up against a character that doesn't have strong abare or is going to put you in a poor situation if you don't burst (although Hakumen doesn't really care about characters like Carl anyways), having these powerful resources available for little to no work MUCH faster than normal is something to consider. ODing at the start of the round and landing a 3C CH in a footsie battle gets you ~4.7K with 3 stars It puts immediate pressure on the opponent with minimal stress on yourself. Not many characters, if any, have the kind of abare that Hakumen with 3+ stars does. Nor are you going to be okizeme'd to death, you have some superb defensive options that keeps your opponent guessing and you have a lot of life to cut through to top it all off.
  19. Obviously there are better uses but what I don't like seeing is how this option isn't good. It's a pretty scary thing to have Hakumen with 5+ stars a handful of seconds into a match.
  20. And they won't have a burst either so what's the big issue here? You're forcing a bigger defensive and offensive threat potential from your character by getting your options faster than normal. If they burst, so what? You dealt damage and made them blow their burst which also effectively reduces their offensive power.
  21. define "play"
  22. Then why do you ever make posts about this character? From a devil's advocate point of view, this is an incredibly hypocritical post. Playing strong players and being a strong player are the only things that matter here. There is always someone better than you, there is always someone who can and will beat you. There is always someone who is your equal. We don't need trophies to know what we're talking about, that's not the only proof of knowledge. Everyone's posts and critiques here are subject to critiques themselves. I apologize that I don't contribute on the level that I used to back in CS1/2, hell, I don't even play as much as I used to. User contribution is part of message boards, if you only listen to one person you will falter, we aren't Shounen and all still have our own things we need to learn. You need to get a wide amount of information and sift through it for what you need most. ________ Moving on: I agree with the suggested layout for the combo thread. Where I differ is that ad-libbing should not be in the main post. At most, it should have a section to itself with quotes or videos showing it. Ad-libbing with Litchi is a truly learned experience, no matter what skill level you're at it is not something that is just picked up by reading notation or seeing it done. Having the awareness and execution to successfully ad-lib borders closer to theory and should be kept to detailed posts, rather than being condensed into notation. That's how I view it at least. I also understand the CP looks to be much lighter in this aspect and we probably can eventually find concrete things to notate. As for a video thread, I'm with LK. I don't feel that anything is learned from watching the lesser players. Whether it be in Japan or the USA, I'm only interested in the top level of play and for the most part our video thread should be kept cleaned up with that sentiment in place. I feel exceptions should be made for when the video contains something interesting or new. The critique thread can be for our own postings. My absolute biggest problem so far though that has not been addressed is you guys need to clean up your posting habits for informational threads. This board needs to be kept clean and that's a community effort, save the useless posts for the general discussion thread we have here. I don't enjoy seeing 2 line max posts in my changes thread, in the video thread or in the combo threads. Make it easy for new players to sift through our information and find it, it won't always be on the front page of every thread.
