  1. I don't know if college will body me, but otherwise... We'll see PNW. We'll see.
  2. I want to maintain the perspective that we're a venue for lesser known games; games from Capcom are also part of the giant entity that is the Fighting Game Community, I don't see reason to exclude or put too much emphasis on it.
  3. This wasn't an attempt to appease the MB community. It was more of an attempt to offer an opportunity to offer people that go to the website media outlets to see information about the games we play at NCI. The regular timeslots are as planned in the schedule in preparation for the addition of other games in the rotation. Basically this layout is yet another experiment. With the addition of more games into the future I would expect to offer information about each game every month.
  4. Website updated! Pre-register and get 300 credit for Game Center free with your venue fee!
  5. Got home late, updating web page and registration links right now, check the OP for the new Venue policy~
  6. Info up tonight or tomorrow afternoon. October 1st. Melty Blood starts first at 12 PM sharp. Full schedule will be out. Also, Pre-registration will be available soon as well, if you pre-register you get 300 Credits in Game Center Credit. The Venue fee is now 7$. Look forward to it~
  7. Glad you could make it to NCI saka, have a safe and fun trip!
  8. Expect an update on the website later this week about next Month's NCI!
  9. The estimate is February 2012. ~Chun
  10. Running through the entire winner's bracket is a pretty good policy and sounds logically sound, we can stop short of the top 4 then run through losers. We miss you Mystic D. ~Chun
  11. The bottom line is half the people that participate in the organization of this tournament don't expect timeliness because of what they are used to. The other half of the staff wants to start immediately. I had to take into account the guests of Super NCI for this particular event as they were the main focus. The main attribute of the time gap loss at GameCenter was mostly due to the inflexibility of the setups for BlazBlue. To get through the sheer volume of the players and the weighted estimate of pad players/personal gear players/on-site equipment I had measures put into effect. Effectively we had 3 setups (ONE LESS of MONTHLY) to do BB because of this. The people that needed to play pad were backed up by the ones who wanted to use their own stick equipment. So we lost 2 hours which would have been run straight through if everyone kept playing on the 5 setups by previous month and volume estimates. I made the decision to make the stream setup BB because we were running into that problem. I anticipated if all 5 were machines were active we could burn through the brackets early with time to spare for GG/MB/AH then the rest of the Skullgirls/Catherine madness. At that point I would have cut the Catherine at top 8, did the main games, then finished the top 8 after the main events. The short answer for Catherine's viability is that I have plans to manage the demand for this, and at the same time return to our main roots for this tournament. Instead of Concurrent starting times for games I am considering an adaptable model of stage-based game tournaments; in other words, running completely through or mostly through brackets of games at different stages throughout the day, at different start times. This isn't set in stone yet however as I need to bang out the details for this, the question of having Catherine as a regular game is interesting but still needs validation to be realistic. Next NCI we will test a hard registration deadline and see what effects this will enforce, as the next NCI will be fully under our control. At the end of the day I hope everyone had a good time. ~Chun
  12. Catherine Stream Broke: NCI viewing records since FKO Retweeted by FGC People and joined the stream by them (JWong being one recognizable) 4-chan referenced and re-visited Has steam-id "Catherine Competitive" which has 171 members: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/catherinecompetitive Is still being talked about currently on twitter Has had NCI receive inquiries about a possible interview about the scene. What have I started?! What have we done!!! Shoutouts later after I actually get legitimate rest. ~Chun
  13. Come and have fun, we only have one stream this time around. Just bring your usual fight gear~ REGARDING PEOPLE THAT DID NOT GET A CALL FROM ME I posted earlier that if you didn't get a call we require your help bringing equipment. Spare equipment will be handy after the main brackets are worked out however. Also for everyone that didn't pre-reg, as long as you show up before 12 PM or if I'm still checking in people it should be fine. I am collecting tournament entries and venue before the tournament bracket is run, so putting names down is a bit iffy, but I'll see what I can do, but please if you can, show up before 12 (I will continue to run Reg a bit over). Have someone pay for you or reg for you in advance if you're going to be extremely late. Spark: 12 PM.
  14. We're getting Skullgirls! Please note this is for September 3rd ONLY! We only run one day!
  15. Real talk GGJ I haven't seen you in hella days and there's sadlife to be discussed.
  16. Regarding Casuals, when the tournament starts at noon, every setup will be for tournament play. This is because of the sheer number of participants this time around (At the time of this writing, more than 50 people are guaranteed for BlazBlue), the best option is to blaze through the brackets for all games until a certain point, and then I will open up casuals. I strongly advise when registration stops and brackets begin, that you know where you are in the list and play side games accordingly. So if you want an off-handed estimate, I would say expect Casuals to begin around 3-4 PM OPTIMISTICALLY. That's given no one stalls the brackets. I'm really counting on the participants this time to be very timely. Afterwards feel free to trash talk each other into the floor. ~Chun
  17. I've finished all my calls for tonight. PM me if any questions linger.
  18. I'm making calls right now. If you don't receive one by the end of the night you're free to bring equipment, but you won't be available for discounts, and may have to keep things in the car if there is a capacity problem. But having setups is appreciated. (Excluding C0R's equipment) ~Chun
  19. We won't have time for teams, lol.
  20. Alright, thanks C0R.
  21. Attention all NCI Equipment Registrations, I'll be contacting you tomorrow evening to confirm if you should bring equipment or not. Please make sure your equipment is also labeled in preparation for the event.
  22. Only 7 more days! GET HYPE PEOPLE! Guides for food/rules/registration/setup will be up on the website Monday. If you haven't registered, do so now!
  23. I'm down to go to Saturday's session at Game Center if someone wants to give me a ride there.
  24. I nominate Coopa for In Real Life for working the streaming graphics and key graphics for Norcal Install's promotion and his work for it.
  25. The rules state the 10 minute marker before DQ, but there will be name tags (Just your typical Hello stuff) and enforcement that they must leave whatever they're doing immediately. There will be no "Just let me finish this", we're on a pretty tight schedule.
