First off, Late-as-all-hell shoutouts.
Severin- Thanks for taking the time to setup, explain, and talk about Skullgirls! I feel like we got a lot more exposure as a tournament venue and everyone had a blast with it; can't wait for the release, and we should play more BB next time.
Sanoshi- That Bridget avatar. I finally meet the face behind it. I didn't get to play any games with you, but hopefully sometime in the future you can teach me how to Roger-on-a-bicycle the right way. Thank you for recording the videos too!
huey253- Gold burst into Kokushi. 6C into All Green. Thanks for believing in the way I play, and thanks for making it out. I really had a blast meeting you in person and the rest of the crew.
sG- Your litchi is solid, and I'm glad to have met you in person for once as well. I only hope that I could have taken more time to practice before our casuals and the exhibition; I still love my Kokushi over Daisharin. Stay solid, sG.
Kaigu- Thanks for playing a few matches with me with Ragna. It helped get rid of the auto-pilot tactics I do against netplay/general I-Ds. Play you real soon.
Polka, Dusty, and the rest of the PNW Crew - Y'all are stupid hype and awesome T-Shirt-ed people. Way to make NCI feel like Marvel finals. GRAVITY SQUEEZE ACROSS BORDERS. No homo.
Xie - Thanks for taking the time to come to Norcal for the event. You're always godlike, hope to talk to you more in the future.
Phen...Phane...F-it, Fred- Thanks for showing up and helping out with the after-clean-up and everything. I'll let you know if there's a session somewhere.
OrionXElite- Stay wolf-butler. So combo video, your play. Thanks for the support too.
Mystic D- Everyone I talked to said your Tao got a lot better. They were right, good match man.
Dacidbro - You forgot I play Litchi. I told Coopa in the past what to block against Litchis, and you should probably hit me up if you want advice before ReveLAtions (Tokido Litchi, lol). Just because I play differently doesn't mean I haven't researched the "JP standard tactics" themselves (Gotta be prepared for MMs in Pride Dollars). Just sayin', you know we're solid.
Coopa - Hey man hey, glad you made it out, thanks for being an awesome streamer and coming out with Spirit Juice.
Spirit Juice- Thanks, I appreciate your shoutout, but thank you as well for keeping up with me on the NCI finances and misc stuff with the venue. It helped me de-stress about the situation quite a lot.
TaoFTW- I'm glad we were able to talk in person after such a long time. You're welcome to come to any other NCI again, though next time I should have asked who you were taking on the buffet trip, and made sure it wasn't the finalists for the stream, hahaha.
KatanaDash- Thanks for your help on Guilty Gear organization, and for the Jam. I should actually sit down and play games with you for once.
Tone- DAT AKA-NEE-NEE. We definitely need to level it up, after our talk. Good seeing you again man.
Oiboi and qwerty- Needs more Magic Feet. Thanks for hyping it up with Dancing Feet Man, and do consider SJSU for sure.
magz and Tsubasa - Thanks again for the sadlife and awesome stream as usual. See you at the next session.
The rest of the Melty/Arcana Crew- You guys are my core people, thanks for attending every time I organize it.
The rest of the core BB crew (RagnaHades, solex, and you know who you are) - Thanks again for showing up, glad to see you all.
Shoutouts out of the way,
5v5 vs. sG: The Real Story
In August, I was voted out of the Norcal Exhibition. I was a bit salty, but I shrugged it off, it didn't bother me after that event.
I sincerely believe the only reason I beat sG that match was because I felt like I had a point to prove; I came to the stream when it was 2 matches in the 5v5, and asked about being included in the team. Most of them gave me the ">_>" and were like "just leave it like this, it's late" when I was in the other room in the same spot the entire time. Watching people eat every Litchi setup sG threw at them, made me immensely sad. I digress, I watched the rest in mostly silence.
After seeing the 5-0 sweep by a Litchi, I felt like this was a challenge I can't pass up. So I forced my way into the match right after Fred's loss. When I won against sG in the first match I lost all my irritation. If it was a 5v5 exhibition sG would have been knocked out. Thus the "Hey Dacid, want me to join your team?"
I was about to leave after that match (I did get up right afterward) and get ready, but 2 out of 3 is the normal thing to do against someone on stream, so I played the other two matches.
Well, next August hope I can be a part of it for once, hahaha.
As for the uploading of the 5v5, the golden rule; even if your match sucked, if it was recorded, it should go up. That's how it's always been really, and I think keeping everyone back to do the exhibition warrants it going up. If we don't post because Norcal looked bad, I think that's a double standard to the people that Norcal did beat.
Stay tuned for the next NCI, which will probably be back to the regular "First Saturday" schedule.
P.S. This is the NCI Thread's 2000th post.
