If discussing translations etc, it's really useful if you include the actual original phrase so others don't have to click your link and scroll to the referenced section. -
[FB] Gundam EXVS Simple Q&A Thread - Ask Anything!

The JP opinion of him seems to be that he's pretty decent. I mean he's got the same rolling buster and zero system. being able to utilize rolling buster as a back suit sounds really great, and his burst super is actually really good. -
[FB] The MSZ-006 Zeta Thread - "Awesome! Do I ROCK or what?"
brett_ replied to WindmanV3's topic in 2000 Cost Suits
I don't actually know if you guys know this, but you can cancel Zeta's CSa or CSb into MA mode with BC, even in overheat. I don't have Roux so I can't actually test. but assuming she has the same option, the rocks are very useful as a last minute juke / last resort evasion technique. (The BC cancel is a homing MA, so it will move straight at your target. Thus, in most cases, you want to target switch and greenlock to fly in a suitable direction) -

Pretty sure Xenon uses Assault. -

Well I'm not really saying these suits should use Assault primarily, just saying you can definitely make an argument for them. -

Gyan is REALLY fun is all. Susa is fun too but I've been playing him so long I've been getting sidetracked by new suits. Honestly after playing a few games with Gyan, I quickly realized I'll probably never play another 2K melee ever again (in FB) - he has all the tools a melee suit could ever want. His super fires the nuke. It's really useful for Oki as well as in neutral if you can sneak it out. You honestly always want to throw it out if you can at the end of your burst, and it's pretty practical to since you're playing a back suit. so not having to worry about being put in OH is really nice. It also helps tremendously for doing it on oki safely. Spiegel, Red Frame, and Dragon for sure. They all have vernier'd mains, making step cancelling a bit weaker. Also Spiegel and Dragon are ground types, meaning if you fuwastep cancel you get a really huge jump, which isn't necessarily an advantage. Also Exia, Gold Frame and Blue Frame. They all have justifiable reasons for going A. Basically any BIG PLAYS suit can justify A because that's what Assault Burst is, in a nutshell. Gaia, Stargazer, too. In Gaia's case her super is also amazingly legit. Heavyarms also has some justifiable reasons because it improves his performance on 8B since it's a melee, but it's actually one of his primary movement options. Since it improves his speed, it's really useful for chasing as the MG type that he is, on top of the fact that he has really amazing movement options available even without blue-steps, and since he can often be untouchable, defense isnt necessarily important. B is of course fine too but yeah. -

@Kira: Please refrain from double posting. EDIT: triple posting... I play a good amount of Delta as I did in Vanilla, but I've been focusing a lot of my time to learning Gyan, since I like him more than any of the other 2K melee types. I use A with Gyan, as most others do, because you generally want to abuse your shield and use two aggressive half bursts with Gyan. Also being able to use your super without overheating actually matters with gyan, whose super is actually really useful. Generally you'd use B if you're aiming to defensively full burst with Gyan. It's OK if you're aiming for that in an attempts to be stable. I don't really think it's well suited to Gyan's playstyle, but if that's your own personal playstyle, B is okay. You can do things like turnaround Main into amekyan, or step mines into amekyan. -

1. I still play Susa, but I enjoy playing 2000 a lot more than 2500, so though I still play him, I don't like playing 2.5k that much. Blast has some merits for Susa, but Assault is generally preferred for him. Though you can step pizzas / balls, you have no on angle shot so you can't really fuwa it into anything useful unlike other suits. Instead you can do things like step into melee etc, but you already have all your BC's, including your new 5BC, which you can directly cancel into, and you can rainbowstep that too lol. As a result, aside from boost efficiency, which IS undoubtably nice, the only benefits for stepping his stuff is really in close ranged situations. If you're in those kinds of situations, you might as well use Assault, which is MEANT for settling those kinds of situations. Assault's melee buffs also really help Susa since his melee's are all garbage outside of trans-am, so it really helps for turning around gross situations when you aren't in transam. That being said, combining Trans-am with A Burst is basic strat that also works well, since he just becomes retardedly fast lol. Assault 5BC travel speed is especially good. I could go on at length but that's probably a discuss better fit for the actual susa thread. Honestly you can justify using blast with ANY suit as long as your own playstyle benefits from it. You can certainly utilize B with Susa but I personally wouldn't recommend it unless you've gotten far enough to understand your own personal playstyle. I, as with the majority of other Susa players, play in A since it works well with most Susa players' playstyles, but I'd only raise an eyebrow at someone who uses B Susa without knowing how. I'm not really that opposed nor invested in the dialog at hand regarding Cherudim, but I just want to point out its probably better not to assume it's going to be 3k/2.5k, considering the last tournament of Full Boost was a 14 minute long Wing Zero / Zeong mirror match.... Also moving this to the general discussion section. -
I haven't forgotten about NCD GG rankings either - I will probably post them the coming week.

Hrmmm...should I be posting here for the Gundam side tournament info?

You don't need to apologize, it wasn't really directed at you or anyone in particular. Just that this kind of subject leads to the thread walking a fine line between fact and opinion. Edit: I'm also going to move this thread into the General section later because the individual suit sections are meant for just that. -
@Mino: when responding to quotes please write your response outside of the quotebox - it's very difficult to read what you're writing because we don't know when his quote ends and your response starts. Like I just did.

Actually I just noticed - the translation of the coms is actually off in that translation image. The right com (previously left in EXVS) is not "cover me". It's "I'll cover you" if I'm not mistaken. Generally you use this com to signify you're playing back, and use the up com to signify you're playing front. The down com is literally meant for when you're running away. I won't really elaborate much more than saying that the com button is just as important as any of the other 4 buttons.

[FB] Assault vs. Blast Burst Type Discussion

My experience, and opinion, which are also echoed in the wiki, lead me to believe that it's really playstyle based. You basically opt for Assault for NTD rushdown or Blast for strong ranged pressure with great step cancel options, imo. It's really important to keep track of how and when you're receiving damage when deciding on this, because for example, when I play Unicorn I usually end up going into NTD, then getting my first Burst in normal, Bursting, then NTD'ing again after it wears off. If you tend to hit your first burst when your NTD is up, perhaps Assault is better for you. Bursting at exactly 50% is pretty important if you're aiming to get 3 bursts, so one of the dangers of Assault is that obviously you want to combine it with NTD for best effect, but if you're not in NTD you're stuck wanting to burst but can't. If you take any hits before its up you can fuck yourself over a bit. On top of that, once in NTD and bursted, if you take any damage, you throw away your chance at getting 3 activates. As blast in Unicorn mode, it's extremely easy to safely aggress due to being able to easily stepcancel stuff into amekyan, etc etc. Imo both are justified, but you definitely have to be more technical to use Assault properly due to the risks and timing specificity. @Z - burgerkong meant the buffs to melee in regards to improved reach / speed etc. I'm also kind of confused as to why you're talking abuto using Assault Burst to be offensive, but then the next sentence is about full bursting and "playing a more defensive role". Well, regardless, it's important to note to please phrase discussions of this nature in a subjective manner. You can talk concretely about what blast types are commonly chosen among top players for each suit. But if you aren't, please make sure you're being clear that you're stating your opinion. This is not directed at any one particular person, just in general. This is a good discussion, but please remember newer players are also reading this and may become mislead. -
Are you Khan Mino from YouTube? :>

Turn-X is preference based. Just depends on how you like to use your burst. He gets plenty of advantages off of Blast, such as being able to step cancel CSa. Master and Full Cloth might preference based too. -
It says "unable to amekyan" basically (アメキャンは不可)

Honestly, 300+ online games with a 25% win ratio is about what's expected if you're just leaping into the game. If you feel like you cant detect landing punishes, patience is necessary. Rather than giving up and firing off auto-pilot zunda's hoping they will hit a sloppy opponent, continue trying to aim for those landing punishes, even if it costs you in the end. You can't really get better at reading landings without practicing it, for the most part. As a quick tip, watch opponents for when they do a boost hop. Don't attempt to landing punish a single boosthop landing, Instead watch them as they boost hop and land along with them. If they didn't land, and reboost (greed / they're making a play), then start hunting their landing. Regardless, I highly recommend watching your own replays - it's probably one of the easiest ways to get better at the game. Find out what you're doing wrong and try to correct it in following games. If you cant figure out what you're doing wrong, you may want to consider submitting a replay to Second Impact, a bi-weekly replay analysis session I run (it has its own thread in this section). Anyways, your "stats" so to speak are pretty ordinary and simply what is expected of one starting his journey - I wouldn't really worry too much about it and just focus on moving forward. -

Whether or not you go for half or not, it's very possible to end up being forced to go for a full due to no good half opportunities. -
Random interesting note: if you do CS Main -> 6B as an offensive string, if they CS Main hits, you have enough time to react to the Main hit, rainbowstep out of the 6B on startup, and 8B combo off of it as normal. CS Main -> 6B is really nice input wise because its really easy to input a sidestep inbetween them (Main, 66+B, almost like doing a rainbowstep war). It's technically impossible due to input buffering to get a fastest possible 8B from a sidestep. The main downside of using 6B over 8B is that 8B combos nicely, but with practice I believe you can use 6B and react rainbowstep 8B from confirming the main hit. The main issue is that the extra rainbowstep eats a lot of boost, though.

While I wasn't going to comment on the current discussion, it's worth noting as a side note that the difference between 130 HP and 270HP is also that at 130 HP, you can get unlucky and get tagged by a stray shot, putting you at 60 HP, rendering a defensive burst pointless. Aka it's much easier to successfully defensively full burst from a 2K OC standpoint than a 2.5K. Often times its still worth going for the full as a 2.5k as a safety measure, but regardess its worth pointing out how the health difference affects things more simply than "more health".
