Yeah the card is just a data holder. In some previous version it also just had a limit on its use as a data holder, in addition to still needing to pay 100 yen per credit. It seems like it's not that way anymore though luckily.

[FB] Gundam EXVS Simple Q&A Thread - Ask Anything!
brett_ replied to brett_'s topic in Gundam Extreme Versus
Yeah you probably should. You may regret it later. It doesn't really matter as long as your comfortable with it, but if you ever play in arcades or offline at gatherings, you'll be unable to play. If you're playing on stick you might as well play with the proper layout. -

Sorry for the super late response - we are officially moving these to Mondays so I have more free Sundays to work with. The next official Second Impact will be scheduled for Monday, June 16th. Submissions have been scarce recently though, so if you're looking to submit, letting me know ahead of time will help me reserve the slot. Recently, what I have been doing is on Second Impact days which have no submissions, if there is interest, I run something we currently call "Office Hours." During Office Hours, I help out anyone who's interested using specific 1 on 1 training exercises. The main exercise I do with participants is "Tag", an activity where the other player and I take turns chasing each other, where whoever is running is not allowed to fire back. This is mainly focused on improving defensive movement, spacing, where to be greedy, how to chase / run during double lock situations, and helps build a stronger understanding of landing timings. Sometimes if desired, I run basic 1-on-1's to mix things up, depending on the other player's level / etc. Office Hours occur when there are no Second Impact submissions or after Second Impact is over if there is time / demand for it. I also offer Office Hours during off-hours if requested in advance.

Yes, this seems fine. I know I originally meant to create a page where people could see what's being worked on or not, but I haven't found the time to do that yet. In any case, akai_GO's suggestion actually makes more sense, indicating on the actual page, rather than having to make a page just for that. I think it's a better idea to change the name of each suit to something like Hambrabi [unedited] or [Empty] or whatever description fits best for anything that hasn't been touched yet, or maybe [WIP] for ones that are indeed WIP. I think it's better than coloring because colors are harder to see and aren't informative unless you've read this thread, whereas anyone can tell when a wiki page is currently empty. Also the colors may be misunderstood as the colors for previously clicked links etc. Remember that changing the text on the index does not affect the actual LINK to the appropriate page, similarly to how it says Dragon instead of Dragon Gundam etc
-
Oh hey Tryflozn, glad to see you can make it! The suit list is just to help people match up together - it's not locked or permanent. EDIT: Also I actually hadn't meant for the suits to be necessary to mention for teams, only for people looking for partner, so my bad lol. Anyways added.

Well I googled real quick and found this - http://excel2wiki.net/ if that doesn't work im sure there's other stuff somewhere.

[MB] The Maxi Boost General Discussion Thread
brett_ replied to Setsuna Yuki's topic in Gundam Extreme Versus
I would really like to stop this asinine discussion about the skill level of the HK scene. KiraYamatoSF, please do not further instigate this kind of discussion, its extremely off topic not to mention childish. You may or may not realize it because of your English level, but you're coming off as antagonizing others right now. if you want to talk about this, talk in the Ask Me Anything thread you made - anyone who perpetuates conversation on this topic will be warned, including others who try to egg it on. -

Just a public service reminder that you should never use a dictionary or rikai to translate JP terms you don't understand, unless it is a last resort. -

It looks like 'outbreak' is just a made up word here. Can you post the original japanese or something so I'm not confused? -

I don't mean to interrupt, so feel free to continue with your post. Is there a reason why people in Hong Kong play at different damage settings than in Japan? As an aside, I don't think the game dropped to 50 yen. There are some arcades that run the game at 50 yen, and your friend may have been playing at one of them, but I'm pretty sure the overall price is still 100 (a few JP players i asked confirmed 100, and we have some american players in Japan currently who can also confirm). I still agree the game is pretty kusoge, and I agree that the fact that some arcades have lowered the price to 50 is a sign of decline, but it's not accurate to say that the price flat out dropped to 50. -
I really like the image you added at the top - looks great.

@Densuo/Skill - regarding this whole grammar thing - normally it's not a big deal but because his English isn't good I agree that it's actually something worth attempting to correct because it's quite irritating to read. While it's unintended, in general when non-native English speakers attempt to speak affluently at a level more than they can handle it tends to come off condescending / negative / confusing / hard to follow, so in this particular case I think SkillKill has a valid point. Regarding posting sources from BBS - while this information is certainly better than nothing, I don't actually agree with making large generalizations using it because the BBS doesn't necessarily represent the general consensus. As much as I appreciate your contributions, I'd be careful about your language. You should actually read our Rules on this board, if you haven't (located on the top nav bar) - No one here is trying to make factual claims without supporting information, so this kind of comment is pretty unnecessary, and comes off as trying to discredit others' opinions. If you believe others are attempting to force their opinions as fact, I would suggest giving them the benefit of the doubt and consider whether or not you may have merely misinterpreted someone's post. Regardless, downplaying other people's lack of knowledge isn't something that's tolerated on Dustloop (outside of Match Making shittalking, etc), so be warned. That being said, @SkillKill - I don't know if you needed to go so far as to callout and ask for verification on Kira's post which was half just reporting life experience. Certainly something like saying "Japan has abandoned MB" is a pretty huge blanket statement that deserves a bit of skepticism, but I think the majority of that post is fine. ==== Anyways, let's try and remain on topic if possible: I will agree with most of what Kira said - it's true that there are a lot of players that are pretty disgusted with MB atm, though I am not sure if I'd go so far as to say the majority. But there's definitely a large amount of negative feedback from Drives, as to be expected. Balance is pretty silly, especially with stuff like Zabanya, but bamco is always bad at balancing, so it's nothing too surprising imo. -

Originally it was like 500 games or times where you would be needed to insert your credit, i forgot which, but it might have been taken away in MB or FB. In EXVS vanilla there was an actual number it would display somewhere on screen telling you how many games you had left - if you don't see such a number then don't worry about it.
-
Oh maybe they removed that feature in FB or MB - I remember they definitely had that 500 limit in EXVS Vanilla, if there's no more play limit on each card that makes things easier When I lived in Japan, cards were 300 yen, but It depends on which arcade etc. 300 is a good estimate though. You don't need to pay every match, it's just a one time purchase to obtain your card. You can always play without a card, too, unless they changed THAT too lol. I don't know what other games use the bandai namco card, but if there are any your card should be usable for those games as well. If you don't care about gauges etc, you don't even need to use a card to play, aside from to track your win/loss and have a name.
-
each card is only usable for 500 games, but its extremely easy when you need to get a new one. I believe there's some shortcut like just placing the old card and the new card on the cabinet scanner and it'll prompt you to carry over your data to it.
-
First buy an IC Card, you can usually find machines that sell them near the cabs, or at least somewhere in the arcade. Then register by going to vsmobile.jp, where you'll need to log in with a bandai namco online ID. If you don't have one already, register for free when prompted on the site. Once logged in, it'll prompt you to register your IC Card. you simply write in the serial number on your IC card and your IC card will then be bound to your account. Once logged in there, you can register your ID name, choose BGM, favorite suits, etc. (On a side note, if you play any games that use an Aime card, such as Guilty Gear, you can use your aime card by binding it with your bandai namco ID as well. I don't remember the specifics on it since it's been a while but unless they removed that feature in MB, it should be possible still) Manners (these are pretty common sense, but might as well write them out): #1 - Always get off of the cab when you lose, even if it might seem like no one else wants in. That means physically standing up. #2 - Always COM at the start and end of the game. #3 - If your partner acknowledges you at a nearby cab (common in Shuffle), you should reciprocate.

>Some shenanigans might not be possible Should really actually watch the video before making blanket statements about it: / In case you guys haven't actually watched the video, it discusses the current Full Boost version of heavyarms - it's quite up to date, covers ALL of the changes, explains pretty much everything you need to know about technical heavyarms play, cancel routes, neutral game, etc. The CSb nerf is honestly worse than the 8b nerf, as heavyarms has plenty of other ways to remain elusive in the heat of a close-ranged exchange, but the CSb charge time really affects it's ability to remain relevant in a fight outside of that range.
-
this looks identical to the jp wiki layout other than where the 'introduction' portion is. I don't mind, though I think the intro section should be brief if it's to precede the move list. For the most part, as long as the information is accurate, looks good to me

UBW BBCP Online 2on2 Team Tourney #10 [May 18th @ 5PM PST]
brett_ replied to brett_'s topic in BlazBlue Online Play
There are currently 37 teams registered, tying with the previous record of 74 entrants for the online tournament we had in November, so thanks everyone for participating! Might as well blow it up even more - though at this point I probably should have done pools lol. Also this means our large team tournament afterwards is probably going to be a 25on25 or something crazy lol. A few notes: The original OP and challonge stated a 2/3 format, but that doesn't actually mean anything in a 2on2. We'll be using the Waseda format, which is standard for 2on2 tourneys: If each team has a player A and a player B, the protocol is A vs A, B vs B. If either team wins both their matches, it is their win. If the score is tied 1-1, The winning players from both matches plays each other. The winner of that wins. In each actual 1on1 set, it is ONE GAME of 2/3 rounds only. AKA, the maximum amount of games played is 3. This format is quite fast, so for players who are new to participating in this kind of format, please remember that it isn't a standard 2/3. Make sure every round counts! In practice, though A vs A and B vs B can be played simultaneously, usually teams will send one player first while the teammates spectate, then rotate. If you would like to play each set simultaneously, you're more than free to, provided your opponents agree to it. You can carry this out without having to communicate with me directly. In terms of determining who goes "first" and "second", most of the time in actual tournaments, teams just send up whoever. If you actually care about the order, due to matchups or the possibility of being 'counter-picked' etc, you may request a blind pick. This means that before your match begins, you and your opponents will choose a preset order without seeing the other's. To do this, you must request this in chat and ask a moderator to help mediate this, by PM'ing them your blind pick order via twitch DM. Alternatively, if your match is being played on stream, you can ask me to mediate your blind pick instead. Tentatively, we will have Winners, Losers, and Grand Finals be a 2/3 of this process, with standard Bracket Reset ruleset in place for GF. If you don't understand this format, feel free to ask questions here. I will also be reviewing the rules before-hand along with all the other standard explanations, but it's best to understand this format well beforehand - things will generally go much more smoothly if people don't get confused about whether the set is over or not or who's turn it is. Since we have a lot of people this time around, it's even more vital that people are on time, so please be aware that we will be enforcing DQs after 10 minutes, including if only one team member is present. So make sure your partners are also on the same page as you! Thanks again for participating! -
