  1. Turn-X's side AC is what I'd classify as a "ghetto" freefall. It's close but if you pay attention there's some stall time during side AC before TX starts falling. 00's Seravee cannot be used as an amekyan, unless I'm missing something.
  2. You can't step cancel while in MA, nor can you step cancel moves that are uncancellable. You also cannot step most form changes (Nu's Pyramid, F91's MEPE, etc).
  3. Yeah it does, thanks for reminding me! -ZZ 2B added -VG Sub turnaround fall added -DX CSa turnaround added
  4. Whoops my bad - totally messed up the date. The next Team Hold tournament is April 13th at the usual time. The signup link can be found here: http://ubw.challonge.com/exvsfb_0413 and the OP has been updated to reflect it.
  5. If he's melee'ing at you just shoot him in the face. Sub is pretty amazing for stomping any attempts to challenge you, and you can cancel it back into AC or BC. You shouldn't assume you should always be cancelling AC into B. It should be understood that doing that is basically a callout. If you're finding yourself excessively using AC→B multiple times to close in, you're starting too far out. A common thread among newer Efreet players is forgetting how much ground can be achieved with basic movement fundamentals due to how tempting it is to force your way through with EXAM. I also find 6B to be pretty decently fast - in my experience it works pretty well in step wars. Regardless you have Main and Sub in those kinds of exchanges anyways.
  6. There's no way to map shield to a button unless you want a programmable controller, as far as I know.
  7. Ah whoops, forgot to add that - thanks
  8. So, I've just received word - youtube links are okay, but links to direct downloads are not.
  9. I may just make a general custom BGM thread for discussion purposes in the future. Not set in stone for now, but we'll see.
  10. If you can't slide cancel it I don't think it's as useful, though I suppose at low altitudes it hardly matters much. It's certainly worth noting which are and aren't slide-able if we're going to mention shield amekyans though.
  11. Shielding to build meter is not really a cherudim specific thing, just to clarify. Prioritizing it is also extremeeeeeeely subjective.
  12. It's kind of complicated, and the actual technical setup for it was handled by dakanya / PhaethonH, but it's basically using a portable linux box that talks to the router. We used a 4g connection to initialize the connection of each ps3 to PSN, but afterwards, each PS3 is deceived into thinking its relaying back to PSN, but is instead routed locally and connections directly through the router, rather than having to bounce back to PSN every time, allowing for Blue Bar connections in otherwise abysmal situations. I believe details on how to do this can be found somewhere on the internet.
  13. Thanks for participating in this week's tournament guys! The next tournament will be on April 6th! The full results of the March 23rd tournament are now up on the first post as well.
  14. Since shield amekyan is a sub category of the amekyan technique, I don't feel the need to make an entire separate section on it. Since the majority of players don't actually utilize this technique, I also haven't really felt pressured to include notes on it. For the record, any suit on the amekyan list that can slide their assist can do a shield amekyan.
  15. The actual folder organization doesn't matter I believe. It just detects all your music and places them into folders by album. You already have all the songs tagged under the same album, so it's probably just ordering it alphabetically or something within that listing. I don't think putting them into folders matters at all. It may respect the track number tag, so you could try that. Honestly this is something one can easily figure out via trial an error I think.
  16. I'll have to get a second opinion and get back to you on this. For now, obviously anything that doesn't involve actual links is perfectly fine. Also, there's a list of all the songs and where they show up along with their corresponding suits under the stickied translation thread.
  17. If it's what I think it is, it just pops up when you get a particularly high score at the win screen. I honestly don't know the requirements for it. This isn't important, and I don't think I've ever actually mentioned it, but there is reportedly some sort of weird host priority as reported on the JP wiki for the ARCADE version of the game for the particular cabinet that was the host, which is extremely minuscule. It might not even apply to netplay hosts, and it might not even be in, but just thought it was worth bringing up since I haven't before heh. For all extensive purposes no there is no host advantage. Also if you're having trouble with Strike Noir, focus on landing punishing opponents with AB (use AC from really far ranges where AB won't work). Ignore using BR, and especially CSa / CSb. They're entirely pointless, but they're meaningless to use until you understand the whole picture better. I often see dynamics of either a) supports that can help keep up pressure even during downtime (Delta, Hambrabi, etc) or b) supports that also have aggressive timer options (Gyan, Mark 2) to combine for explosive turns.
  18. The archives are always saved. I haven't actually highlighted SI #1 yet but its definitely in the archives still, and I'll be uploading it to youtube soon. I suppose I'll update the OP with links when that happens.
  19. Just a heads up that we're confirmed for Second Impact #2 happening on March 23rd!
  20. this is awesome, thanks donkey!
  21. If you are on the WC, you can always play ranked. Regardless of where you live, there are also shuffle rooms at times, in which case you don't need to worry about it either. Honestly most people just accept that when you are new, you just have to get beat up a thousand times till you get better.
  22. There's no official The O thread atm - if you want to open a temp one up to discuss it, feel free. At the moment we don't have anyone willing to be a dedicated OP for the suit, hence no actual thread.
  23. If you're equally serious about each role, if you submit one of each that's probably okay, and if there are too many submissions i'll omit one.
  24. more like they just wanted more money :PPPPP
  25. 1. Yes. You take less damage you also deal more damage. 2. OTG proration is 25% (the attack does 25% of its original value). This proration occurs AFTER combo proration / cancel proration etc etc.
