  1. That particular guy wasn't a problem to adjust to, it was mostly his connection that was the problem and really annoying. I adjusted to him kinda easily and astraled him a few times for his troubles. I just meant in general, like I recognize what some people are doing but can't properly punish or figure out how to stop them from* doing it. Like Hakumen players who just jump around a lot and press good buttons, lol. Adapting to people is just one of those things I need to work on*. Hahaha GGs. And here I thought Crossfire was just really solid with a bunch of different characters lol, I mean he was regardless but it would've been EVEN MORE. GGs. You're good anyway so you held your own even without much Extend Bang experience, the matches were almost always close. And yea, Soul Ookami's Hakumen was annoying the crap out of me, lol. I wanted to try and beat him before he left but oh well. Some of them other people though, man their connections were annoying. And Cookie why did you leave AGAIN???
  2. I really need to figure out how to properly handle the "stupid stuff" people do.
  3. Lol I honestly didn't even notice that. All I did was ask Hellknight if he was doing any tournaments before that one and he said no. Didn't want to do it this week cause it wasn't much time to let people know it's happening again and stickbug's thing is Saturday. So I just picked a day next weekend and here we are.
  4. This Ragna gives NO FUCKS. I've baited and punished his wakeup DP countless times with CH 6C and he continues to do it, but I guess that's "smart". I can't believe I've lost matches to him, I'll just use netplay OS and blame lag. Its like a slide show watching him vs this noel.
  5. I'll play you. I haven't played in a while. Just give me a few minutes to get online.
  6. The way I looked at it was in the case that someone swept the room and DIDNT rank up, he would have to pass. Then next time he got his turn, let's say he is now at +2, if he wins again he would have to pass immediately after that 1 match, which is kind of stupid in itself since he just had to wait that whole time to get his turn again. Now that one could still happen regardless cause at some point someone is gonna start the night at +2 or maybe after the 1st rotation they'll be at +2, so it's really unavoidable anyway and just something people have to deal with. But the sweeping thing isn't really a factor because it isn't like the other players have to wait their turn to play any longer, it just means they don't get to play "others" a little more often. I'm trying to look at it for more simplicity, so I'm removing one more thing people have to worry about. All they need to know is if they rank up > they pass. This rule is only in place to effectively keep the rooms going before someone ranks up too high too quickly thus leaving only X number of players to play each other which we can't have if it is too low. Well the other thing I think about is the fact that the player has to "hold" their ranking no matter the changes. So if someone got 5th Dan with an S tier character, and in the next version their character is garbage, they now have to prove it was their skill that got them there and not their S tier character. If their skill level with the lower tier character doesn't hold up, they'll fall in the rankings. At the same time someone who is now using an S tier character might rise in the rankings but it's still to be expected and would happen anyway in a new version if we just started fresh. I'm not saying character strength doesn't factor into it somewhat, I just think that player skill > character strength ratio is much more apparent. But this could all be a moot point anyway since I'm already leaning towards just starting fresh, it was just something I wanted to think about. No, remember they must pass if they got promoted. Examples: Ex.1 Player A is 2nd Dan -1 and in a room of 4 with himself included (3 opponents). With the new change let's say he sweeps the room, so that's 2nd Dan +2. Now he doesn't pass, he plays 1 more and wins so 3rd Dan 0, he passes. Ex.2 Player A is 2nd Dan -1 (same as above). With the old way, he sweeps the room at 2nd Dan +2 now he must pass. Opponents play their matches. It gets back to him and he wins his next match, 3rd Dan 0, now he has to pass again after just 1 match ON TOP of having to pass for sweeping the room previously.
  7. UPDATE: There will now be a "West" group as well, which will be ran by Psykotik. The start time for the "West" Danisen League will be 7 PM PST / 8 PM MST. The "West" group are the players within PST and MST.
  8. Well my reasoning for even considering it was kind of twofold. 1) Certain players are obviously more skilled than others. So say they've already made it up to 5th Dan before, if they start over at 1st Dan the players who are actually 1st Dan "skill level" have to play them and there's a good chance they are going to lose. This could be discouraging to new players or just players within that skill level. It would be like they can't even get started or see where they really fit because the higher skilled players have to level up through them first just to get where they "belong". It's basically using already established data to carry over. 2) With the above in mind, the changes between characters in the different versions is probably negligible by comparison to player's skill level when considering the rankings. Chances are LK with CS1 Litchi is going to get to roughly the same rank as LK with Extend Litchi, even if she isn't as strong, mainly because LK is one of the top players. Whereas someone who is new or less skilled, if they suck with a top tier character they are still gonna suck with a low tier character. Basically the difference in skill level is more apparent in the rankings than character strength/differences when the players are people who regularly participate to reflect it. Now, my reasons for why I shouldn't do it: 1) As you said, Extend is a new version so a fresh start makes sense just with that in mind. 2) Depending on how many people sign-up and who signs up, if we go by old rankings people might not be able to use the characters they want from the start. By all means I'd like to hear more people's opinions about it. As it stands now we would be starting fresh just because it would be the easier thing to do.
  9. UPDATE: There will now be a "West" group as well, which will be ran by Psykotik. The start time for the "West" Danisen League will be 7 PM PST / 8 PM MST. The "West" group are the players within PST and MST. Do you actually have a PSN account for "Haven"? Or was that just a typo and you meant HallowHaven? Just want to be sure so I put it down right.
  10. My observations, -Work on your hit confirming a little bit better and/or combos. A few times in the 1st round and a few more in the 2nd you didn't capitalize on certain hits. The end of the 1st round especially you didn't really do much off the hits and you have to realize that is giving the opponent a chance to come back. -In relation to the above about the combos, some of the combos could've been a little better I guess. -You seemed to auto pilot 5A>5B>2B sometimes. -You used j.C a bit too carelessly.
  11. BlazBlue Danisen League Returns: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j08OY_YdY7Q UPDATE: If anyone happens to watch the video and sees this, this league session will now be open to PST/MST players as well, so please ignore the mention of EST/CST only in the video. In the future I can't guarantee if PST/MST will still happen as I have no plans to run it myself so it is entirely up to the "West" group to handle it. I will be trying to add an annotation over that part of the video just in case, lol.
  12. Rankings have been posted: https://sites.google.com/site/blazbluedanisen/rankings Thanks to everyone who participated and those who helped with rooms. Thanks to Psykotik for running the league for the West group. Match videos will be uploaded within the next few days. Congrats to howling-_-moon for becoming 5th Dan with his Rachel and currently the top ranked player. Next Danisen League Battle is tentatively scheduled for May 19th, around the same time frame. UPDATE: There will now be a "West" group as well, which will be ran by Psykotik. The start time for the "West" Danisen League will be 7 PM PST / 8 PM MST. The "West" group are the players within PST and MST. ***Please READ the Rules/Guidelines for all the necessary information*** https://sites.google.com/site/blazbluedanisen/home Start Time: (expected to last ~2 hours) "East" League (EST/CST) 7pm EST / 6pm CST "West" League (PST/MST) ***This will be ran by Psykotik*** 7pm PST / 8pm MST General Information: -Please try and be on early so I know who all is available and so I can friend request you. -Player Limit: 6-16, but really it is 15 as I will have to be in the chat room even if I'm not playing. -Rounds: 2 out of 3, in other words the default settings. Basic League Rules: -Everyone starts at Kyu. You can NOT go below Kyu, no matter how many matches you lose. Kyu is basically equal to 1st Dan 0. This is the "Beginner" rank. -Each match represents 1 point. -You must earn +3 points for a promotion. -3 points and you will be demoted, starting from 2nd Dan 0. -You may only use 1 character per night, unless told otherwise by me. -*Change from previous Danisen League*, you no longer have to pass if you sweep the room, only when you get a Promotion. -PLEASE read all the rules on the site, it is very important people understand how it works, and it is very simple to understand if you actually read it. Sign-Up Instructions: -Sign-ups begin immediately. -Please continue to sign-up even if spots are filled because there is a good chance someone won't be able to play at the last minute. -No alt accounts. If I find out someone is using an alt you will be banned from participating until further notice. It takes away from the point of this. -If you sign-up I fully expect you to be around when the time comes even if you aren't listed as within the first 16 people. People will drop and I need others to fill those spots. If you sign-up, think of it as you plan to play BlazBlue in some form that night anyway. -Please don't drop in the middle of the league, only sign-up if you actually want to PLAY. -If you are a returning player, you only have to post your PSN I.D. unless you are switching to a new character OR you've already used multiple characters in which case I need to know which one. -If you are a NEW player, you must post all your info like this: SIGN-UP FORMAT (You MUST use this format if you are a NEW player, NO exceptions, so just copy and paste) PSN I.D.: Character: State/Province*: Time Zone*: EXAMPLE: PSN I.D.: zeth07 Character: Bang State*: Maryland Time Zone*: EST Current Sign-ups: "EAST" (EST/CST) 1) howling-_-moon (RC) - NY/EST 2) Mikel93 (RE) - OK/CST 3) Moy_X7 (JI) - IN/EST 4) OmniSScythe (MA) - NY/EST 5) Ethereal_Albion (RG) - PA/EST 6) seph508 (TG) - NJ/EST 7) MirageKnight24 (HK) - ON/EST 8) godoftennis101 (RG) - NY/EST* 9) jeromejohnson44 (LI) - ON/EST 10) iw2ma (BA) - OK/CST 11) Akira-Shiro (?) - DC/EST 12) jason900 (RG) - AL/CST 13) Jyosua (JI) - FL/EST 14*) zeth07 (BA) - MD/EST 15) SwordOfToan (LA) – NY/EST 16) DontExplain (RG) – NC/EST "WEST" (PST/MST) 1) OniShirou (TK) - CA/PST 2) Psykotik94 (CA) - BC/PST 3) Sharakonta (HZ) - UT/MST 4) NorseFTX (TS) - CA/PST 5) CMSORA (JI) - CA/PST 6) I_SEE_WEABOOS (BA) - CA/PST 7) CosmicRaise (LI) - CO/MST 8) Acacia_Avenue77 (JI) - AZ/MST 9) BadguyTheDentist (BA) - CA/PST 10) brkrdave (AR) - CA/PST 11) Neo_Zeromus_X (MU) - AZ/MST 12) 13) 14) 15) 16) Special Notes: - Depending on how many people sign-up and who signs up, I may carry over the rankings from the previous Danisen League rankings, even as far back as CS but only whatever is the most recent for each player. -Depending on all of the above, I may choose to change the rules to be that you may play someone +/- 2 ranks of your own rank. But I will decide that at a later point. -If anyone on the WC wants to organize a group for the “West” players I will keep track of that information as well and include it with the rest but I will not be running it. It will be on you to make sure everything is accurate and ran correctly. -If anyone would like to stream or record matches please let me know. If you record matches, you may also upload them to the new BlazBlue Danisen League Youtube channel I have made if you want and if I know who you are / “trust” you. It's fine if you just want them on your own channel as well. 13. As long as you stop kicking people after losing 1 match.
  14. wtf are you talking about? Did you even read any of that? There's plenty of ways to stop/get out of his pressure besides just DP. And why would I be "underestimating you"? If you knew that's how it works than you should've known the answer yourself. He can't magically get out of stuff, Ashura is probably a projectile, which makes sense because it's a huge explosion and not hitting with any part of his actual body. All of the above.
  15. Quote LK: Fullscreen: Good idea to set the staff. Against fullscreen nails - Poison Nail - IB, watch him. D nails - IB > back jump, watch him, or reposition. If they like using nails in neutral, it's better for us. Midscreen: Against D nails - IB > backjump or backstep. Jumping is preferable. If you're already in the air (which is the best case scenario), IB and dj/airdash awa/whatever. IB is +6 in the air. Against jump ins - have to judge properly between 2A, 5A, itsuu, launch staff, jA... like CS1, there isn't one universal answer anymore. 5A definitely will never ever beat j4B btw. Slide 2A still works if they assume you'll stand up to block. Against 5B - your 5B still wins. Staffless, use 2B. Slide 2A loses :/. Using 6D against it will trade in your favor. Against 3C - just jump, don't try doing your 3C back on reaction. I'm thinking of trying to j2D it on reaction, gotta check. If you read it though, using your 3C is a fine answer. They will use 3C to stop Itsuu/6B. Bang's Pressure: 2A > 2A = gap 5A > dash 5A = can't 2A in between unless you IB, but if you mash 5A you'll win for sure. 2A > 5B = gap 5A > 2A > no gap 5B > 5C/6A = gap 5B > 2B = no gap Meaty 2B = beats backstep Blocked 6D or 5D = always, always, ALWAYS use Tsbuame, he literally can't do ANYTHING to stop this, it's -13 and -15 on block (respectively), and Tsubame is 11f startup, meaning he can't do any 5D > block or 5D > Super crash shenanigans on you. Meaty 5C = Don't dp this, he recovers before it comes out. 2B > D nails = An interesting situation, he's something like +5 on block, so first off, you should always IB this. If they like doing dash > normal, you can try doing IB > barrier jump (as barrier jumping makes your hitbox smaller than doing a normal jump). You can also IB throw, as your throw could beat a dashing normal. Both of those options are pretty risky though. Blocking is the safest, watchout for command grab after this. 2B > jump J4B = the basic low level Bang pressure, airthrow this shit. Just change whatever is needed for whatever character you're playing. And you can't just RC Yukikaze if you get caught, it would've had to been if he hit it with a projectile, in which case he probably didn't need to RC anyway.
  16. "Kill him before you get cursed." Unless you play Lambda, THAT is the match-up and no one can tell me otherwise, lol. I feel like there is really no thought process during the Arakune match-up. He's just gonna do his shit and you just gotta kill him before he gets X-Factor. At least Lambda has some control of the screen to stop him from being dumb. I hate Arakune.
  17. Are you kicking people after they lose 1 match, never to let them play in the room again? And if you lose a match, disband the room, never to play again on netplay that day, lol.
  18. Some notable ones, I'll post just to add for this type of thread: BlazBlue OST 8bit Arrangement Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xKGfB7Xjas BlazBlue OST 8bit Arrangement Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6TVcrPmscg BlazBlue OST 8bit Arrangement Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IA6_ut4bWtQ BlazBlue OST 8bit Arrangement Part 4A: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inTWko6BEoc BlazBlue OST 8bit Arrangement Part 4B: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40LxxrCABjk GGXXAC+ "Modified" Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1vr-W2BjPg BB:CT "PC Edition": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wihNs63ixEo Best Moments In Guilty Gear Vol. 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yvFNEWWVIU Best Moments In Guilty Gear Vol. 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5RG6kgZFRo [Hand-draw MAD] BlazBlue CS2 OP Parody with Guilty Gear (Full): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdPPrSWadYg BBCT Perfect True Ending ENG Subbed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwS2vsJveAM Blazblue - Ragna's Perfect True Ending Subbed ("Sequel" to the above): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F49IILoxQm8 BlazBlue - "Modified" (another like the above): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzBs8fi-zgU I would make another note in the 1st post specifically saying no match videos and I'm assuming no actual combo videos, just so it's there in the 1st post.
  19. Thanks for all you've done here. Have fun with Peacock / SkullGirls.
  20. Isn't that kind of a "good" thing that it doesn't let you get PSR from people that much lower? Not good for you in this case, but good for a system to do. I mean that's how a ranking system should work or else it'd be even more stupid than it already is. You should only get more PSR if you played someone at like 800+ at least.
  21. An idea for something I'd like to see, "LK Kumite" (has a nice ring to it). 1 (LK) vs. 15 (EC netplay). Have the first half of the players be people who sign up in a thread, then the bottom section be the guys from PP and like Nineball / Raiza. 1 match vs each opponent, see if LK can run the gauntlet like it was some Japanese single elimination tournament. Have Kurushii stream it and see how good LK does. I think it'd be pretty hype.
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmWHp-qDkGU&feature=youtu.be My one redeeming moment from the matches last night, lol.
  23. That's what I've been told numerous times, and I hate the fact that it works more than I think it should. I don't like winning matches like that cause it feels like I just "scrubbed out" and stole matches. I just gotta try to get better I guess and grind it out.
  24. GGs, you're too good at this game for me lol. I honestly don't know what to do cause nothing seems to work when I'm playing normal. After the first 5 matches or so I just resorted to pressing buttons > hit confirming into combo cause it was the only way I would ever land anything just by being random as hell. Because of that, I will say sorry for wasting your time, along with NeoGio and xntrikcat since I'm sure it wasn't "fun" playing against that. I'd try to step it up and do better but I don't see that happening anytime soon, lol.
