  1. Moral of this story, stop complaining about Bang's 5A. The move went through: CT location tests>Final Game *took a slight nerf from CT to CS by not being able to gatling into itself or whatever* CS location tests>Final Game and now 5 CS2 location tests and still is what it is. Obviously if they haven't changed it after all this time, it isn't something worth complaining about. Unless you live in America apparently because the Japanese don't seem to have a problem with it that's worth fixing.
  2. IF they are going to do an award for this, imo, they should do "top players" and only give them to those that placed Top 3 at the Majors. "Strong players" and giving them to Top 8 throughout all those tournaments just seems like too many and makes the award less prestigious or however you want to look at it. Or if they really want to expand that, they can do top players and strong players as separate awards. But I think it should be simple and that they don't need to go overboard with awards.
  3. That would be the "In Real Life" award by definition I guess. I'm not sure what criteria it takes to get the BB / GG "providing insight" award, but it seems like A LOT of people should have this and a few that do i'm kinda scratching my head about but they must've got em for some reason. (not to mention more than half the stuff people know is just from watching Japanese videos anyway or the translated sources...) The "strong players" award is probably gonna cause some debating, or the standards/definition for getting it will need to be really specific.
  4. I looked through the thread and didn't really see these or another source with the pics, but this site has some better screen shots: http://the-magicbox.com/1011/game101110a.shtml (Sorry if these were already posted and I somehow missed it.)
  5. I would never go back to playing on pad. I just meant from a literal and physical standpoint in my specific example (623B) it'd be easier on pad (at least to me it SEEMS like it would be). Obviously there are things that would also be harder on pad than stick, and stick is definitely better than pad. And like I said, me dropping stuff is probably just because of how I grip the stick. I can literally feel the difference between doing 623B on the left or right. But like I said, I've gotten passed that for the most part. Maybe it is a timing issue, but I think it was more of a physical execution issue which in the process messes up the inputs/timing of other things. I haven't played fighting games on pad in about 2 years. The one time I randomly decided to try and play Bang on pad, it was impossible and I couldn't even do the simplest BnB til a few matches later. It just felt weird and wrong. EDIT: Just to add another weird example that happens to me: In training mode depending on what side I do FRKZ on (I can't remember which side respectively), I get the input EXACTLY on one side and on the other I get some needless directions in there. That doesn't seem like a timing issue, just some random physical execution thing. I don't understand why, so I'm gonna stick with it being just because of the grip. That grip difference.
  6. All jokes aside, it could potentially be true to some degree. On the controller you're just using your thumb for the directions, so something like 623B is relatively simple no matter what direction you do it. While on stick, depending on what kinda grip you use, there is an actual physical difference from how it feels to do 623B on the right side or left side. I personally was having trouble doing 623B while on the right side, super jumps while on the left side, and now dash>2D or dash>2B while on the right side. It isn't an issue of timing or knowledge of the combo that causes me to mess it up every now and then, it is the actual physical execution because it does in fact feel different (to me). Needless to say I don't have much of a problem with the 623B's at least anymore because I realized I was messing up and made that mental note about the difference. So now i'm much more methodical about it. That's just me though.
  7. You mean after Zong probably told him. You could see him do a clap motion after one of the matches when they were talking, so it was probably them talking about it. Zong is such a nice guy that he gives his opponents tips even during big tournament matches.....at least that's what it looked like lol.
  8. Yea, he played pretty much the same way. He only did the absolutely necessary things and kept it solid. The color definitely added to it.
  9. I don't know if anyone mentioned it within the last 32 pages, but your stream link is wrong in the 1st post. I imagine someone would post the link to the stream when it actually starts, so it probably doesn't matter anyway.
  10. If you're seriously trying to learn stick, DON'T go back to pad. It won't help you at all and you don't want to waste your money. You may lose more often at first from not being used to it, but I can honestly say playing on stick feels a lot better and I truly think it made me play better than I ever did playing other games on pad. My two cents.
  11. I'm sorry but if they are troll posts, he spent a little too much time typing them out AND responding to not think that that's how he really feels and not just posting it to troll. People can't tell the difference between actual discussion and trolling, I guess that's one of the problems around here. (If he really was trolling, then props for at least taking the time to type that.)
  12. I fully understand, yet we aren't talking about just a "Tier List" that says S Tier, A Tier, etc. This is a match-up chart that forms a tier list based on that. Obviously the idea that the match-up chart always goes by is that both players are equally skilled, so in theory you can't ever say one player is more skilled than the other to determine the results for a match-up chart. Although the problem with that is that the players who make the tier list may have trouble with certain match-ups or don't have the same match-up experience (which is why this list is always debatable anyway). The real solution would be if you had a TON of results from tournament matches that provided a good enough sample to give you the REAL results of the match-ups, but this isn't feasible for us. Now if we did in fact make a list that was simply, S,A,B, etc. it would be a lot easier. Then it wouldn't necessarily come down to the exact numbers and more of a broader scope. Even then, I doubt mirrors would matter or come into play to effect the placement on the list.
  13. It made perfect sense, except in relation to the actual match-up chart itself. Saying that a mirror is easier or harder still has no correlation to the actual numbers. How can an easier mirror be considered 6-4 when BOTH players have the same exact opportunity to have an easier time in the match compared to other mirrors. The chart doesn't care about how difficult the mirror is compared to other mirrors, the chart is about how difficult or easier the match is for the character vs. another character. A mirror match is two of the same characters, so it's impossible for one to have any advantage over the other. Thus it's impossible for a mirror to be anything other than even in terms of a match-up chart. Now what he said made sense in terms of how the mirrors are different, but that can't change the match-up to something other than even. It just doesn't make sense in that regard.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaoWKTS37qo Never has a video been more fitting for a reply.
  15. If you didn't post it the way you posted it, I would've provided a rebuttal to some of your examples. But that will ruin it.
  16. No they won't. So are the "top players" who are involved with this match-up chart going to actually reconsider what anyone says, or is all this discussion kinda meaningless outside of telling people why they are what they are in the eyes of the people who made it? I guess we only have 2 months or however long til CS2 comes out that this will even still matter.
  17. Except they said .5 differences were basically negligible. But a few .5 differences here and there could actually change tier placement. They are 100% correct though, so no discussion needed. You may only ask why it is what it is, but they won't change anything. That's just how they roll.
  18. Agreed.
  19. So where'd these new numbers come from? They don't appear to be from the stickbug one. I won't really get into which ones I disagree with for the Bang ones (probably a few), I'm just curious about where they're from.
  20. long post, sorry If we're discussing how we can make Dustloop better overall in terms of the community and handling of threads my suggestions would be: 1) Be more strict when it comes to the rules - Rules #4, 8, 10, 11, and even 12 especially. If they don't follow those rules, give them an infraction or send a PM and give em a warning. Even though this may have to go by the mods interpretation of the rules, it should still make the site / community better overall. Or make a thread specifically for infraction resolutions or something if the infraction seemed unwarranted (which happened to even myself). 2) Add more mods - Whether it would be to BB General / BB Gameplay / Character Forums (assuming BlazBlue is the general problem area). Quite a few character forums have at least 2 mods, so even having 1 additional mod in those respective forums means that makes it even easier on the other mod/s to actually mod the threads. A more extreme suggestion would be reconsider the current mods and see if they are active enough to actually moderate their threads the way they need to be, but that's a last resort. 3) Start over with a clean slate (AFTER doing 1 + 2) - In terms of BB, once CS2 releases in my opinion everything should be wiped clean that isn't still relevant or at least put into the archived sections. Then once everything is at a fresh start, the mods should be able to actually mod the forums easily, especially if they have more help. The mods should be able to decide what threads are worth keeping around and what isn't. And I agree with the suggestion that BB Video Posting / Discussion threads should be in Gameplay because it is in fact gameplay related. Anything regarding misinformation is supposed to be against the rules. People should get a warning either formally or informally and if they do it again, they get an infraction / ban whatever. If it is something more along the lines of an opinion, the mod should be able to decide if it is a true opinion or if they are trolling (again against the rules) and deal with it. If the mods / knowledgeable people correct them and it IS correct, and they still disagree/argue warn them and explain why. That's all for my opinion on trying to help the Dustloop site/community out. If the "Pros" / serious players want Dustloop to be a respectable and a more serious site, then they should handle it that way, mod it that way, and be examples themselves instead of lowering themselves to the same level as the stupid people (or even putting themselves higher than others at those other players expense). Save that stuff for the Match Finder threads or I guess Tournament threads as well. Again, sorry for the long post.
  21. Or we're NINJAS! I mean come on! Just not bad ninjas like Ryu Hayabusa, although he is kinda bad ass at least.
