    [CT] Rachel: Matchups

Hell's Fang is really easy to instant block... IB it for a free 5b combo.
  2. From the video I saw you can 5b Tempest Dalia but it only did like ~2700 with all 4 wind stocks.
  3. Ugh, I finally saw the 4 winds version of Tempest Dalia. I really didn't think it could get any worse than the cow. The hell were they thinking?
  4. Uh... they did?
  5. After watching a few more videos... is j.2c not jump or move cancelable ON HIT? Am I mistaken, or were the players just not canceling it? But yeah Tempest Dalia looks like a joke move. A giant cow? It also looks like Bang's umbrella DD that you can start blocking and/or tech out in the middle of the move if you get hit when you're in a certain position. No more j.2c, no more 6b (I love not punishing DPs), pumpkin hitstun is lol, George gets killed by jabs, j.a not an overhead, guard primer is the same as RG/Lambda/Carl so it might even be safe to assume Rachel now has 9.5 or 10k health instead of 10.5k...? Oh how the mighty have fallen.
  6. Look on the bright side guys... Rachel might be the new joke character!
  7. The first jump must also be a super jump cancel. If you 5b and either accidentally or purposefully 6b, then cdc, the opponent is usually too far for any frog combos to work (regardless of the character). The only time this works is if the combo pushes you both the in the corner (NOT if you start the combo in the corner) and Rachel ends up summoning the frog closer to the opponent. If you 5b 6b in the corner then you get pushed back too far for the frog to activate. Basically if you 6b the only thing you can do (without the use of a second wind) is 236b sword iris/bbl.
  8. Looking good, make sure you go into detail about how much we get destroyed by pressure... and then how instant blocking is the greatest thing in the universe.
  9. On crouching opponents you can 5b j.2c3d people but just fyi you don't recover wind while you're in the air so they're not really that useful.
  10. Just because I don't own the game doesn't mean that I don't play it every day...? I wasn't aware that I had to own the game to play it. In any case I'm not trying to start an argument; simply posting my thoughts on what I do know thus far. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't trying to learn more.
  11. Not it's not, because Hakumen's j.C will beat our 6a unless you hit his body. If you're hitting his body then he is a shit Hakumen who is waiting too long to input j.C. In terms of likelihood... 1. j.C will beat 6a because it was spaced correctly 2. j.C and 6a will clash 3. 6a will hit Hakumen because he waited too long to input j.C It makes much more sense to just block instead of trying your luck. 236b is a nice counter, though.

I like to beat up on Nirvana for fun. :3
  13. Nice matches Skyline... it's a pity all of the people I want to play online only have PS3s... oh well. :P Anyways, does anybody know of the top of their head any Noel players that consistently upload videos to Youtube? I'm looking for people to subscribe to for good Noel vids from time to time.
  14. Not as easy as you'd think.
  15. There needs to be a Youtube page I can subscribe to to get quality Rachel vids on a consistent basis... Once I actually own this game that will be my Youtube. :P
  16. This is... pretty important for Rachel imo.
  17. Wow that corner trap was amazing. EDIT: All of those matches were amazing.

3c and 2d same speed? Interesting. Either way I have an easier time seeing 2d in advance. I think the most annoying thing is when I go for a 6a and Noel ducks under it with 3c lol.

Actually yeah I was talking to a friend today about this and realized that it made more sense to block high when she is in chain revolver because the low hit is not nearly as fast or easy to react to as the high hits. I think when she's not in chain revolver it's better to block low because 3c comes out a lot faster than 2d or 6b.

Pumpkin to get in. This is a generic answer but it works lol. To get out of a rushdown? Block low and watch for her (2?) overheads. One of them is part of Chain Revolver. They're both pretty easy to react to.
  21. When I say I use 2c is the Tao matchup, I really mean that's the only matchup where I've ever willingly used it in and attempt to counter an attack. I hate 2c with a passion and I seldom use it, lol. In any given situation there always seems to be a better option.
  22. Alright well, if it works for you I'm not going to tell you to stop doing it lol. I wasn't even aware you could trade hits with cat chair. The way I see it though, I don't think it's really safe to use such a punishable attack on a character that has 10000 damage combos from CH (Haku has 8 stars, but I'm not entirely sure if Rachel gets CH if she gets hit after the super armor of cat chair, correct me if I'm wrong) :/ But like I said if you found a solid use for it, then feel free.
  23. lol What attack is Hakumen using on you when he IADs? I'm pretty sure he doesn't get shocked from any attack that uses his sword. If he touches you with his body when he IADs thats a different story, but why in gods name would Hakumen ever be that close to you? Do you see the size of his sword? If he gets IADing and getting shocked from 2C then he is not spacing himself correctly. Furthermore in a Tao matchup, she only has two or three attacks that don't get her shocked.
  24. Cat chair? Cat chair is horrible in this matchup; in any given situation any option is better. In fact, I'm fairly sure the only attack he gets CH from cat chair is his stomp. Every other attack uses his sword. No Hakumen IADs into you without attacking or blocking lol. Cat chair only seems to be useful against poking Taokakas.
