Wait, does firing a laser work off negative edge? (Such that I can buffer D during a combo)
-
Oh yeah I know Noel has the POTENTIAL to output insane damage but the unsafe moves they start from are imo even more unsafe in this matchup. I've been playing CT Noel for a loooong time so I'm well aware of the risk reward of my character but when I can get punished with 3-4k for fishing for a simple 5c poke shit gets nasty. Even trying to chip Tager down with my non-projectile normals (for low damage) can get me punished whereas he can throw out some unsafe shit at the risk of taking a jab combo. But yeah, mixup/yomi and whatnot. It's not as if she'll never get a good hit or anything. Especially with 5d completely wrecking sledge now like I said. In the end I simply think that in an average round and average match, Tager has more opportunities and less risk, and thus will output more damage than Noel will resulting in a win. 55/45 or maaaaaybe 60/40 Tager. Again, all my opinions.

You talkin to me? Well I'll answer anyways... the same reasons I thought this matchup was closer to even in CT. Her mixup is terrible to start with and with two entire buttons losing to one of his attack (C and D losing to sledge) it's even worse. Even moreso since now her pressure game relies on drive mixup. 6c was one of the amazing things in CT that scared sledge happy Tagers but it's way slower now and not nearly as effective. 2d is no longer an opener overhead. Spring Raid no longer has iframes (though I've never experienced this, I would assume sledge vs. Spring Raid results in double counter hit, correct me if I'm mistaken.) Even our fabled new poke (5c) is rendered useless. THOUGH I will admit 5d is now much more reliable against Sledge which is AMAZING. Jab is slower, and now Tager can IB jab and 360a. 6a and 6c are terrible fucking anti airs now. Still has some trouble getting in, even worse with slower attacks. Our little poke combos for 1.5k pales in comparison to what he does when he catches you, and he WILL catch you because of her short range and the fact that he's able to punish not only the recovery of some of her attacks, but the damn active frames of certain attacks also. Yes she has haidas on Tager I'm aware, but if Tager is getting hit (not punished) and haida'd often then quite frankly he's not playing the matchup right. I dunno I just feel like he's output way more damage than Noel can in an average round, and has an easier time catching a character without a sword or a doll or staff etc etc Just my opinions though. And yes I've played CS quite a bit.

Tager/Noel 5/5? Uh abouh dah...
-
Oh man and I thought quick wakeup 2d with Noel was amazing, quick wakeup 5a with Bang must be ignis status.
-
lol I don't think I've ever successfully AA'd Hakumen with 6a.
-
Isn't 5d still a good AA against Hakumen's j.C?
-
I don't think Nu players are allowed to say this...
-
You know what's amazing? Drive cancel reload. Apparently if you try to drive cancel and hit the ground at a certain point, you'll just hit the ground and reload your guns without any attack ever coming out.
-
Nooo, I clicked Tager style and now my only options are Tager or blue. Any chance to get a light theme?
-
One too many. There's a difference between mixup and mashing overhead every chance you get. You have less time to react to overheads online, it doesn't work offline against people who aren't idiots, especially Noel's slow ass overhead.
-
Yeah man I guess I should play the good CT Jins that only play offline now. lol shut up fool. It only works off an airthrow or an extremely close 3c. Even then his dumb falling hitbox makes the timing very tight. Beat em both. Not so much recently but I don't play CT seriously anymore. A month or two ago, though. It's like he's not reading my posts, lol. The matchup is bad. It's not Arakune bad. If Arakune is 6.5 then Jin is 6. It's not her "worst matchup." SOMEBODY MAKE THIS MAN AN ADMINISTRATOR
-
Yes you mash drive, learn how to mixup without mashing overhead every blockstring, that only works online, stop pink grabbing. Learn the combos in training mode.
-
LOL If Chance doesn't 360 my 5b on reaction then he instant blocks it and 360's it. And I've played against the best Jin's on XBL, Jin clearly has an advantage, but like I said, to say that Noel/Jin is the same as Noel/Kune is a joke. Noel's BnB doesn't even work on Arakune, (except from an airthrow or the closest 3c possible)
-
Can't agree, 5b surprisingly unsafe. Noel kindly gets AA'd by his 2a and 2c more than any other character because she has no vertical air attacks. (not counting j.D, lol) Mashing 5b midscreen will get you 360'd from half screen. He can grab the edge the attack and it will warp you into his hand lol. 5b is not a bad attack but it's a mediocre poke. Noel was given a new 5c in CS because she is essentially a character with NO POKES. Anyways if you 5b and he sledges, you win. If you 2c and he sledges you lose. He cuts safe her buttons in half and mashes easily out of combos but can also get rushed down pretty hard if you guess right. A lot of guess but all in all he has the ability to output 10k faster than Noel can output 12k (he's 12k right?) But he's still Tager. 50/50 Personally this is an easy matchup for me because no Tager knows how to play it right. lol Not only was I not talking about Bang/Noel (I was talking about Bang/Kune) but you didn't even respond to what I said. I didn't say anything about D attacks. The above only works at extreme close range and CA is one combo. Nu has no problem keeping Noel out like the rest of the cast and has an even easier time backdashing from Noel's fake blockstrings. lol If you think Noel/Jin is on par with Noel/Ara then you have no right to tell people not to post their personal thoughts. btw no disrespect
-
lol Jin can't be her worst matchup when Rachel/Ara/Nu exist. But he keeps it real. 360a > 5b, don't try to simplify the matchup lol. Sledge beats all of her C and D attacks btw. Bang has two air dashes. Sounds simple, yet a game changer.

WTF Skye is black? Bro we should start a black club.
-
I'd say Ragna/Noel is closer to even due to his low health. Maybe 5.5/4.5 Ragna. Dunno about Litchi but getting past that stick is hard. BUT Noel does have a nice 5k off an airthrow on her. :3 Tager/Noel is even, maybe even in Tager's. Soz I've argued this too many times. Dunno much about Carl too, probably because every Carl sucks. lol vs. Nu is probably her worst matchup, she has no real blockstrings, everything can be backdashed out of. Jin/Noel is bad but nobody will every agree (especially Jin players, lmao) so I just say 5.5 Jin.
-
Sweet I love personal matchup bullshit Noel vs ragna 5-5 vs jin 4.5-5.5 vs tager 5-5 vs rachel 4-6 vs nu 4-6 vs carl 6-4 vs arakune 4-6 vs bang 6-4 vs taokaka 5.5-4.5 vs haku-men 5-5 vs litchi ???
-
CH and RCs not included. If it were a lot more stuff could be added but unfortunately we can't simply get CH whenever we want to. (Unless you're punishing something but we have better combos for that :p)
-
Noel rule #1 Standing opponent and 3c can never exist in the same sentence
-
HFA I really really wanted to come but all of my friends bailed. I LOVE YOU TUSHARRRRRRRRRRRR
-
Please don't misinterpret me, I simply thought it would be a better way to respond to your longer post.
-
I'll respond to parts directly. Surely you're not talking about hit confirming a single 5a? I'm going to assume you're talking about doing a single 5a and then hitconfirming the following hits. Are you suggesting throwing on 3c in this matchup to predict a jab? Sorry, I can't agree with this. Can't agree, if you're attempting any 5a dash 5a shenanigans I'd say prepare to get 360'd. True, but Tager and Hakumen fall differently than other characters and the distance is shorter. Bang also falls differently but this is to Noel's advantage because his fall is VERY horizontal. I was exaggerating a bit, nobody caught that. <_< This must be hitconfirmed. One 5a 6a 6c is possible but hitconfirming 6a 6c (bc) is impossible (because you need to cancel the 6c with bc quickly). Note that if you 6c (bc) without hitconfirming you can get 360'd. Pitiful damage for 50 meter. Respectable option with knockdown though. His j.2c is the literal anti-anti-air for 6c. Actually you can 22c 6c 22c 66c j.C for more than 4k. Again, I can't agree that things like 5a 6a 6c or 6c are confirmable. You can choose to 6c (bc) regardless of hitconfirm because many players don't know this is punishable but, it is. Still can't agree. Oki's good but committing to attacks on his wakeup is very much asking to get 360'd or backdash 360'd. The distance that Noel must be to attack him his undeniably the closest in the game. All in all I think he has the ability to punish you for DOING attacks rather than punishing you after blocking your attacks, and with this can output way more damage than Noel can. I'd say they are both pretty equally unsafe, but Tager has the health and the damage output to make up for mashing unsafe things. Such that if we get a successful 2b CH, we get a nice 2.2k with 50 meter, whereas if he gets a 2c 2b sledge etc ch he will easily break 3.5-5k meter or not. I have no trouble with Tager players, this is a very easy personal matchup for me. Note that my spacebar is broken so I apologize if my post is a bit lacking indepth explanations.
