Yeah, just taking out Raiden's CD move is a weird as hell thing to do, because it's definitely not his most dominating feature, and unless there's some seriously loltastic coding in there, doesn't that mean it screws everyone else out of their CDs? The guy who won SBO said that he often played holding both kick buttons for Raiden, because let's face it, that drop kick is one of the best moves in any fighting game ever. Yeah, SNK games in general outside of Garou to me have always had stiff controls. GSP is set up for another title defense in Canada. Already I can see the angle brewing... GSP will never lose on Canadian soil.... Dana White didn't screw GSP, GSP screwed GSP!

lol KOF13: "On a side note, I didn't notice until recently how dramatically different the game feels when the input timeframe option is changed in the game's settings. Some of the most simplest moves like K's Iron Trigger> Second Shell/Shoot feels as hard as 1-frame links in SF4. (ok maybe not that strict, but it's a close call) Most arcades have the option on, but a few of the higher competition places have it off, apparently to disable Raiden's CD dropkick since it can't be done without the additional input frames." but then again, isn't raiden's cruise missile dropkick done by just charging one kick button?

Greg Jackson, one of GSP's coaches on planning: "In combat sports, because it's so intense and you're taking such physical damage, you go to certain places and you do certain things when you're in trouble. Like when you were a kid, let's say you ran away to your friend's house if your dad was beating you up or whatever. You have a place where you go. In fighting it's the same way. You have a place where you go. Our job is to get you to that place where you're going to break, and keep you out of the places that you want to stay, that are comfortable, like living in a mansion for instance." he's climbin in yo windows

Now I'm going to try playing that Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep game. With any luck it won't be the total "wtf is going on here" that the GBA game was. Oh boy, the game starts with difficulty selection, where it tells you that in Easy you can't unlock the secret ending, in Normal it's harder to unlock, in Proud it's easier to unlock, and in critical it's also easier to unlock. Looking it up, it turns out that to get it in Normal, ,you have to do some max collection that's even harder than hard mode. Hooray! You also don't get to readjust the difficulty after the game starts. You know, So you don't try to play through the game in Easy and then switch to Hard just at the end. But since I can skip cutscenes in it, it's already at least as good as Crisis Core.

lol indeed ----- So I just beat FF Crisis Core after leaving it alone for ages. I guess I just wanted to see how the story goes. The story isn't a total mess, but nobody's motivations for anything make any sense at all. Hell, you don't even know why some of the crap that happens happens. But then again, what was the last FF game that had an actually good story? (Oh wait, that'd probably be FF12... actually, I don't know if FF12 has a good story or if it just has good writing, because I never beat it) Of course, the big discovery in relation to FF7 is that Zack didn't actually die at the reactor following the fight with Sephiroth! Yeah. The single best stroke of the entire presentation comes in the very, very final frame, after the credits roll, after you see a remade version of the FF7 intro... you see a screen that says, "To be continued in Final Fantasy 7". That probably contains the highest amount of thoughtfulness per unit... whatever, in the whole game. Mad spoilerz? Oh well.

5 HIT COMBO http://iplaywinner.com/news/2010/12/28/nsb-18-114-man-blazblue-continuum-shift-ii-team-tournament.html so somehow platinum wins a gigantic bbcs tourney... i have no idea what she has going for her other than mostly stubby normals and bubble oki maybe the threat of that overhead(?) smash with good range is so great it's mindgames

3-HIT COMBO So that Millenium series written by a Swedish guy who died shortly before the books became a smashing success contains one character that I'm pretty sure would be the perfect otaku bait. I read the first book in the series some months ago, and while the book as a whole has an interesting plot you really have to work hard at suspending your disbelief for that one main character. Fetish items: - she's in her mid 20s but has the body of somebody in her early teens, including super flat chest and "doll-like" limbs - to add to that, physically dimunitive (is less than 5ft tall, weighs barely 100 lbs) - genius computer hacker and investigator, and has photographic memory - is not a sociophobe, but has an off-putting/aloof demeanour - bisexual, with notes on her lesbian encounters in the second book - in one case dresses in a manner that is practically goth-lolita, and not because some situation demands it - gets sexually abused during the first book, including one instance of outright violent rape - has tattoos there's probably more I've forgotten, but at times it reminded me of this one manga where two guys trying to compile an ideal dating-sim character by assembling every fetish they could think of wound up with an image of a mentally disabled horror.

It's a well-known fact that regular meals have long ceased to be the norm for people working in knowledge-based industries. When you're working 70-100 hour weeks, who has time for 3 meals a day? Oh man, this is too easy to make one-liners for. The pants really need to be adjusted for men, though. Even without any kind of Adonis complex, having pants that taper sharply for men can really easily not work; either they are too tight and look ill-fitted/bad, or the person really is rail-thin and it emphasizes this. For women that super-thinness is more easily accepted, but for men the perception is of weakness and wasting away. But since this is downtown, maybe that look is in due to the meth-head crowd, I dunno. I do think that pants that are mostly fitted but are more even towards the ends or even slightly flared work better on real life males. Of course in anime land, men with straight pants often have legs that are tube-like in their uniformity of thickness, and this abstraction is generally accepted without much fuss. Story about Korean ppl: So at a Princeton TKD tournament, they managed to get a bunch of volunteer judges. By volunteer judges, I mean an entire contingent of guys that looked like Asian mafia. We're talking sharply dressed young and middle-aged men, all of whom could probably kick your ass. One older guy who had a broad frame and a mostly-shaved head with a balding pate also had a black suit with a green shirt, leaving the top button undone and not wearing a tie. His suit was slightly loose around him, and on the whole it was a perfect line between formal and functional here, because he could do all kinds of martial arts stuff in his suit; he was total 大老 material.

I can't say I'm a fan of the pants that Z Zegna has been showing. Part of it is the models, but the pants are way skinny. I imagine if you have a more average build you'd fill out the pants a bit more and that would make them look even worse because of how they would hug your legs; it'd just be very unflattering. The fitted look of the jacket is fine, though it doesn't seem especially formal-looking to me, nice as it is.

A game that we don't find fun (too slow, too much autopilot) combined with no greater local community outside of the people that already played GG equals a game that feels like a waste of time to try playing seriously. For awhile we played it for novelty, but in the end playing it simply because "it's kind of like GG and isn't the GG that we've been playing for YEARS" wasn't a good enough reason for us to take it over other, more interesting/fun things to do.

So loveplus for 3DS will have a face recognition thing where your virtual gf will not treat users who are not you as you. No word on how robust this system is, or if you can pull the Clark Kent/Superman with a pair of glasses. It would be wonderful if you could nevertheless dress your face up or mask it so that the girl treats you as a stranger, seduce her in your assumed identity, then fire up the game in your regular face and question her fidelity, only to reveal that it was yourself all along and that you were testing her. You know, the way jealous spouses do with hired hookers/PIs.
