  1. Was there any confirmation about Karin being in? I might wait till the absolutely last minute to get this. Also about the DLC Disc thing...it'd be one thing if it was extra costumes...it's another when those costumes and characters are accessible via a pretty lame glitch. That kind of programming is in poor taste and might as well not even be bothered with.
  2. Haha that Blanka vid was taken down faster than Blanka can say HURAOUUUU!!
  3. Looks like they went for KOFXIII quality sprites...here's hoping the animations and backgrounds are well done. Still looks rather stiff yet from the video. Lotta small hitboxes.
  4. Zeth, read my post in the UMvC3 thread...you will laugh. Crapcom indeed.
  5. Welp, the case for DLC just got a gaping big hole in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTXGsrmJONg And in case this video goes down, here's how you do it: 1. Pick a character With an Alt or H Color (including Assist Type) 2. Hover over the character you want to Glitch. 3. Cancel Once 4. Cancel again and briefly afterwards hit L1 (the window of time is small to do this, but don't do it too fast, it's like an FRC lol). If you did it right, H or Alt will appear, regardless if that character already has only H or already has only Alt in advance. I tested this and it works on everyone, though the prerequisite for H colors requires you to have played and won an H color in advance. So much for Dictator Magneto being banned...
  6. If there were any changes from X to X 1.5 to X Plus....Honestly I think they'd probably be expressed in EX Mode...which was a prototype in Plus anyway.
  7. You are approximately 12 years behind, sir! Where were you in the year 2000!?!?
  8. Here's my old PS2 layout compared to my BlazBlue Layout: Square > Punch / A Ex > Kick / B Triangle > Slash / C Circle > Heavy Slash / Drive R1 > Dust / Throw Input R2 > Roman Cancel / Rapid Cancel L1 > Record/Playback in Training / Barrier Burst L2 > Taunt/Respect / Taunt R3 Analog Stick > Nothing / Function 2 (Unlimited Mode Select) L3 Analog Stick > Nothing / Function 1 (Beginner Mode Select) Also, in case you run BlazBlue on PSP... Analog Stick Settings: L-Left: Function 1 L-Right: Function 2 L-Down: Taunt L Trigger: Rapid Cancel (Taunt in Guilty Gear) R Trigger: Throw (Dust in Guilty Gear)
  9. Romine's...WTF, why there?!?
  10. It may be the goal, but you're being unrealistic if you put that expectation on ArcSys. Not everything streams properly or works properly. Even BlazBlue had menu glitch problems in the past, so nothing is ever "arcade perfect" like all the hardcores want it to be. It's best to just assume they will do their best regardless and enjoy the result. Also consider that most gamers haven't played the arcade version to make a reasonable comparison. That's just a hardcore player's dream at best.
  11. Regarding what qwerty said, just putting GGXXAC+ online is going to involve SOME changes, but as far as what alienates GG veterans from the game...I doubt there would be much there to notice, and even if there are noticeable changes, it's a situation where you "adapt or perish" or in this case, you just stick with the PS2 or PSP version. Like I said, I haven't heard anything bad about Arcana Heart 3's online gameplay yet, which is saying something about how ArcSys handles PS2 > PS3 ports and netcode with the ports. As for PSP and Ad Hoc Party...that's somewhat dated and problematic. Like I said, when I played GGXXAC+ through Ad Hoc, the character select screen lagged, couldn't even start up a decent match. On a related note, I had a Wifi match with someone near me when playing Dissidia Duodecim a few weeks ago and there was plenty of stream lag on that for opening cutscenes (intros). So I think the PSP isn't the ideal platform for online play. As for the Vita...who knows? My experience with SSFIV is sorted at best, since I hated the game and sold it (which is rare of me to do!), the most annoying aspect of it was when the controls, instead of allowing buffer during lag online, just completely locked up and wouldn't respond to my inputs, this never happened in BlazBlue or even games like TMNT Turtles in Time Re-shelled, Tetris online, or even Moon Diver...most online games I've played NEVER get so bad as to be unresponsive to my inputs, leaving the character to sit there while I get hit by my opponent as if the controller were unplugged.
  12. Here's my overall experience with Online Fighting games in general: GGXX#R on XBox: Terrible, terrible buffers and aside from that still fun. GGXXAC+ on PSP via Ad Hoc Party: WORSE THAN TERRIBLE, when character select lags, you know it's bad. BlazBlue on PS3: Calamity Trigger is the first DECENT Online fighter I've EVER played to date, and even in situations where lag is bad, you still feel in control of your character, which is a good thing. SSFIV on PS3: Controller lockup, full on disconnects, and just plain bad...not even worth the time. Mortal Kombat 9 on PS3: Actually good when the connection is good, inputs don't mess up often, and it really works out...only downside being limitations to rooms and other minor lobby aspects, otherwise King of the Hill is fun! If only ragequitters didn't ruin the experience. Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection: If it weren't for the fact the Main Menu streaming of this game caused it to crash, Pausing issues, movelist issues, and a few other offline things, the online aspect of it wasn't bad. Marvel VS Capcom 2: I saw next to no problems playing this with others. UMvC3/MvC3: Good for the most part, though as of late I've had issues with Strider dropping combos unless I buffer, otherwise it's not a big deal with friends around me. I have good hopes for GGXXAC+ on PSN though. I haven't heard anything bad regarding Arcana Heart 3 yet, so there you go.
  13. Actually I wouldn't mind the announcer from GG2 Overture. Mary Elizabeth McGlynn was pretty hawt. BTW, here be the system voices in order: GG: Omaturi Takao (Takao Suzuki) GGX: Takashi Kondou (Faust/Potemkin VA) GGXX Onwards: Gregory Payne GGXXAC Onwards: Neil Moody GG2O: Rachel Peters (JP ver.)/Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (US ver.)
  14. Effort!? GG is probably the most interesting fighting game I've played in years aside from BlazBlue and Samurai Showdown...I mean, okay, the fighting game mechanics take time to learn, yeah, but once you get past that and start tinkering around with what everbody can do it becomes fun. Wow, it's not like pulling teeth here...it's not even that much of a wallbanger compared to UMvC3 or SSFIVAE...
  15. All I know is, casual gamers are idiots as far as I'm concerned. They'd rather play Call of Duty and camp in a safe spot and snipe all day and troll on the mic than play awesome games like Guilty Gear. Fine by me, I play what I like anyway.
  16. Um...you can ignore the whole Facebook and payment thing and still upload stuff. That's what I did.
  17. Regarding Order-Sol...pad users don't seem to have trouble doing charge-keep....but I suppose if you use stick it's another matter entirely. Regarding Charge-keeping BRP, like I said, I never use it, as for it being Slashback bait...well, not all of us are that good yet. It's one thing to execute Slashback successfully, it's another to do something worthwhile after it without screwing up...this is my issue currently with Slashback. It's one of those things where, any IB I do could've BEEN a SB, but doing something after it to punish isn't always beneficial or safe, since I'm familiar with 3S parries now and also the "applied parries" in UMvC3. As for Older stages, these babies are on my wishlist: http://i.imgur.com/24cQF.gif http://i.imgur.com/pg0Az.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0cWP3.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nhOdM.gif http://i.imgur.com/OMh4G.gif
  18. Usually I just stick with applying certain moves to Charge-keep. For example, I don't use charge-keep on Bandit Revolver Proto that often in combos or Strum Viper. I use charge-keep mostly for Rock It or Blockhead Buster.
  19. I can charge-keep without bursting on pad well enough. Don't see how that's a problem. So long as you hold Dust first before anything else a burst shouldn't be negative edged.
  20. Then explain to ME why it sounds better in GGX and actually LOOKS better in GGX compared to GGXX onwards!?!?!? D:
  21. I'm sure once AC+ hits X-Box Live, Circ or his ilk will find a way. Just gotta be patient, guys. :D
  22. Bored as hell, sick of fighting games online, wanna meet up and do whatevers with people. Pick a weekend, ANY weekend. I'm in West Milwaukee.
  23. It's my understanding (based on my own experiences, mind you) that most players use Throws to make up for their overall "lack" of damage during the flow of the fight. A good Haku-men player can probably get a feel for when someone's itching to trying and throw him if they can't find any normal ways to hit him. This is especially true if the opponent is out of Bursts or it's the last round of a match. They tend to go for throws in the last round or 2nd round more if that's all they have left for damage options or they're trying to make a comeback from the previous loss. Also, more than anything, Throws are most often used to END a round, which is actually a gamble in and of itself, as players tend to underestimate the amount of damage a throw can do when they've got more than an inch of health left.
  24. I'm aware mine are unreasonable, but that doesn't mean it can't feed ArcSys ideas further down the line. IMHO GGXXSlash giving players the option to pick #Reload characters was the greatest thing they could've possibly done for Guilty Gear. Like how SF Alpha Anthology and Darkstalkers Anthology lets you pick your favorite versions of characters. That, and I also feel that GGX-era (read: Dreamcast era) sprites and sounds were superior to the compressed stuff in XX, so going back to that level of quality would be nice, along with a non-HD 4:3 display, for those of us who 1. don't own HDTVs or 2. like turning our PS3s into Arcade Cabs...lol
  25. IMO Kliff and Justice need an EX Mode as well...they gotta get some respect. Some ideas: EX Kliff: Young Kliff Mode!! --Make j.D act like Belial Edge --Make Sole Survivor act like Deadspike --Make his dragon-drop move (j.41236+S) be j.D instead. --Make Reflex Roar a standard projectile, but make it so he has to charge it up to use it. --Make his drill attack move upwards instead of horizontal for an anti-air. --Replace his "swaback" (214+P) with a command throw or something. EX Justice: GG Mode Justice!!!! --Replace Saperia Trance Forcebreak with Imperial Ray (623+D) --Give Justice a "Breaker Dash" like she had whenever she had 50% Tension --Make Gamma Ray even MORE ridiculous --Give her different kinds of Michael Sword strikes (floor slide, wall bounce, also a Diagonal one) --Give Justice a Teleport move (think her Winpose) --Give her a move where she plunges her fingers into the ground and generates a series of ground projectiles (like Valentine in GG2!)
