  1. Also, to anyone who entered that Mayonaka Midnight online tournament (i.e. Volpe/Star)- don't forget that the tourney is tomorrow. You should also note that the brackets were redone tonight in Challonge, which changed who everybody is matched up against. The amount of times they've changed things like this at the last minute seems INCREDIBLY unprofessional to me (I'd already scheduled a time with one of my opponents for tomorrow), but what can I do? :V
  2. Editing really isn't all that bad. It's just kind of hard to "set time aside for it" when it normally takes all of five minutes to clip out what I need and sync game footage/commentary (if even that much)- but it takes an hour or two to actually process the video. Double's Grand Finals, on the other hand, was a NIGHTMARE. Every time someone plugged in their controller, I'd lose video feed for a few seconds. That meant EVERY time there was a new match on the T.V., I'd have to re-sync game footage/commentary. Bluh. But it's done now, so :D
  3. Sorry for taking so long. I made a mistake in the editing process, which resulted in very, VERY quiet audio (both game AND commentary). Thankfully, I still had most of the videos edited- I just had to take the time to process them again with the proper audio. I'll begin uploading tonight. Everything should be up by tomorrow evening.
  4. Unlike a lot of other characters, Aigis's Persona normals seem really underwhelming. But Aigis in herself seems incredibly dangerous to me (easy to read ≠ not getting hit), and Orgia Mode combined with her zoning tools and Persona mechanics makes me think she can excel both up close and at a distance.
  5. Has anyone played any good Aigis's? She's on my "characters to be scared of" list, but I've only played a couple decent ones in ranked, and that's about it. EDIT: About halfway through with P4A editing, and I realize that Winner's Finals was treated as first to two. This is, like, the third time this has happened in an MTN tournament. :V
  6. Oooo, there's some good Yu stuff in those videos too. Thanks Star. @Videos: I've got the last five parts of KoF edited and uploading right now. It should be finished by tomorrow afternoon. P4A is processing right now. It should be edited and uploaded by Thursday afternoon.
  7. Yesterday was SO. MUCH. FUN. I needed Sunday just to recover. Srsly. But now that I'm all rested 'n stuff, shoutouts! I'll be keeping things brief this time, because ermahgerd I have a lot to make. Milln: DEM TOURNAMENTS. <3 There's no doubt in my mind that we wouldn't have these kinds of tournaments if it weren't for you. So thanks for doing for everything you do. And keep playing dat Yosuke! I was pleasantly surprised in our games after our tourney match. Arson: Dood, we didn't talk, like at all. I'm not avoiding you, I promise. ;-; We need to get something planned for the Cookeville crew! I still haven't played you in person since Marvel 3 vanilla, and that's NOT okay. X/ Astaroth: I seriously need to thank you for being such a good sport about our game. There are a lot of people who would have called for a DQ in that situation, but you didn't. You were just kicking my ass so convincingly before, I totally forgot about winning the round before, haha. Still, I hope you enjoyed our games (I sure as hell know I did), and I'm looking forward to playing you again before next time! P.S. Hope you had a great birthday at MTN and otherwise. :D Azure Phoenix: You know, before the tournament, I wasn't worried about Labrys. At all. Nothing I'd seen online, in videos, OR in person made me think she was a real force to be reckoned with. And then, I played you. Dayum, was I wrong. I'm gonna have to go to the lab and do some research on her now, haha. It was good seeing ya, and congrats on taking Doubles! Hope you can make it up again soon. Bishop: DAT CHIE. It was really good to play another person who knows how to utilize their characters bullshit oki. :P We had some really, REALLY hype games in both Double's AND Single's Grand Finals- even if some of them had some particularly dumb moments, haha. Congrats on taking both P4A tournaments, and be sure to come back up for the next tourney ASAP! I need dat runback. :3 Boom Cube: It was good to finally play you in something again that wasn't... UMvC3 randoms, lol. Your Akihiko is coming along nicely! I saw a few things that really impressed me, like Super Canceling your DP when you hit my Persona to prevent me from punishing it. That was really nice. Hope you keep on playing the game, and to play you again when the next tourney rolls around! Doromac: I'll never understand how you can play so well competitively in a game you don't even own. Make that lemonade stand so you can buy your waifu! See you online when you do~. Eireprince: Your driving is way too S-tier. Too bad my directions and attention span while talking are F- tier. XD Thanks for coming up and participating, and thanks especially for driving! It's more comfortable riding in your car's backseat than it is DRIVING in my own car with the driver's seat all the way back. Seriously. G-ram: Read: Arson. Grimstar: OMG BILLY HOW COULD YOU. You can't send me into Loser's, then lose the next two games. That's just... That's just not fair, man. Badass Overlord? Moar like BAD ASS OVERLORD. ;~; Nah, I'm just kidding. Your Yosuke is legit. I'll be sure to get you next time myself! >:3 Justin: Where da eff did you go? We talked really briefly when KoF was going on, and then you just kinda... Disappeared. :< Y U NO stay for Persona?! The game essentially has Doritos. Except instead of blue triangles, the Doritos are robot manifestations of yourself... Or something. I dunno. PLAY IT. K.O.: You missed us touching each other's butts! Come with Milln next time. Shit's hype~. Keith: Dude, ya gotta stop being down in the dumps all the time. I know you're solid- you were solid the week before the tournament, too. Just because you lost some games doesn't mean you're bad. All they are are learning opportunities. So just stick with things, and they'll get better. You'll see. KhaosMuffins: It was good meeting you! You're right, it's been a long time since the CT days, haha. Keep on repping Akihiko, and try to make it again next time! I didn't get a chance to play you. :[ Klein: I'm convinced that your epic beard is the source of your godly Slayer powers. I didn't get a chance to play you in anything (;_, but I did see you playing GG very well, and it's awesome to see. But don't get too comfortable close to the top- I'll be making my way up with Sol come October~. :3 Midnight: R.I.P. MrMinionMan: Dude, it seems like you have a pretty serious KoF. People better watch out for you next time. ;3 From what we talked about last night, it seems like you're really starting to get passionate about fighting games, which makes me really happy. I may not be that great at KoF, but I'll at least try to keep up with you if you're serious about improving in it. Let's rep Cookeville well! Naimat: Yeah, I'm scared of your Akihiko. From what I saw you play, you grasp a lot of the finer things about him- frame traps, safe mix-ups, stuff like that. If you can get those things down pat and combine those with some higher-damaging combos (which I know you can), I'll be legitimately scared to fight you next tourney. That, hype to see it in action. :3 Papstr: UNBEARABLE DP'S. YES. It was a lot of fun hanging and talking with you Saturday. I've been missing ya in Cookeville. :< But school's coming up, and hopefully I won't be as busy this semester. We gotta develop that Teddie of yours~. And thanks for the hype commentary with Milln. Just listening back to the audio by itself is amazing. Can't wait to get these videos up. :D Phil: GUILTY GEAR OH MAI GAH. Watch out. AmeriKusoru is coming. October 2012. And thanks for showing and staying for P4A! It's cool to hear you're interested in it. Be sure to hit us up once you have it! It's a great game, really. Ponder: Can't say I didn't warn you 'bout those DP's. X3 Still good games, and it was nice meeting you! Hope you can make it up more often. Guilty Gear seems like it's gonna have a big revival. :] Shinblade: Dude, it was great to see and play you in Guilty Gear. As an aspiring Sol main myself, it was really neat seeing that high-level Sol stuff come out on the screen in person. I'll do my best to spam DP's less next time. … Okay, that's not true. But I'll try to do MORE than just spam DP's next time. It was a real pleasure meeting you, and make it to the next MTN if you can! Star: Okaaaaay. Apology time. I was playing both Billy and Milln's Yosuke in the tournament, and his DP is *better* than I thought. It has deceptively long active frames, and deceptively short recovery. I still don't think it's the best DP in the game though. :P There's no reason to be disappointed in your performance- you did very well in the standings, and your Mitsuru is coming along well! I'm already afraid of facing you next time. :P Tad: Tad, you're just. A boss. At everything. Winning the entire GG tournament, winning P4A matches even though you don't own it, bringing like every GG setup... And just being a cool dude. It's always a pleasure talking and hanging with you. You did leave pretty suddenly though. DON'T DO THAT. K? K. I'll be catching up to you in GG soon. Better watch out. :] Uri: We missed you here, Woz! I hope you can make it next time. The competition's really fierce. You'd love it. :D And to answer your question, I recorded Winner's/Loser's Quarter Finals onwards. Once I get KoF edited and uploaded, I'll start on P4A. I should have it finished this week. :] Volpe: What the eff. Elizabeth's Counter Assault. But other than that, very solid Liz play. You rep her well, really. It sounds like you learned a lot both during and after the tournament, too, so I'll be looking forward to facing you again soon. I need to get in the habit of breaking those DP's, haha. Zeno: 5K YU COMBOS WUT. Thanks for showing me all the Yu stuff. I didn't get the chance to use any of it, but I'll keep it in mind when I'm back in the lab trying to improve my game. And I'll try to get the converter thing sorted out before next tournament. I know it's no fun playing with an unfamiliar control scheme. :/
  8. This. Although I *would* like to know if he can combo off of it, and if he can, how much he can get from it. EDIT: But for now, I need SLEEP. See you guys tomorrow~.
  9. So Yosuke's DP is effective in stopping the opponent's offenses in their tracks, while not doing any significant damage. And this is better than the other characters who can stop the opponent's offenses in their tracks while potentially taking more than half your health bar because?... EDIT: @Grimstar: You just made my point.
  10. Then stop using your lack of practice in securing a particular punish to determine how two character's matchup actually is.
  11. I'm fairly certain you can trigger Chie's DP for a punish the same way not_lunaris suggested activating Yosuke's DP- by using a running aerial move.
  12. Look, guys. I'm sorry, but this isn't even a matter of opinion. Yosuke's DP is not the best DP in the game. If you think a Yosuke is spamming, just do the same thing you would with any other character spamming a DP. Stop your blockstring or whatever, let him use it, and punish appropriately. From what I've experimented with, you can use a Persona attack or projectile to activate the DP if you're not within range of the knockdown, activate the counter hit, and punish him in the recovery of that move instead. And that's only if you're worried about not being able to time your punish on the DP's non-counter recovery as it is. And if he hits you, his reward is a menial amount of damage and a knockdown. Does he get insane Chie/Yu oki on knockdown? No. Does he get any status effects from it? No. Can he combo after it? No. Compare that to other characters who can get more than 50% of character's health bars from the same fuck-up you'd make to trigger Yosuke's DP. So what makes his better than theirs again? The fact that his whiffed DP has less recovery than them/is harder to punish? Oh, please. Just practice your punish's timing and get over it.
  13. Star, I worry about you sometimes.
  14. @Astaroth: 720 that depression into submission. It doesn't have any options- especially not in the birthday matchup. @Volpe: Good luck with the ride situation. I'm sure someone will be able to pick you up. @Milln: You can't Baste my Burts if I never Burt! I'll show you!
  15. Don't let it get you down. Whether you're aware of it or not, I'm sure you learned a lot from your sets with Star and Astaroth. Both of them kept up with BB until we stopped running it, and whether people want to admit it or not, there are quite a few fundamentals that carry over from it. Besides, you probably have a much better understanding of what Mitsuru/Kanji are capable of now, and that's more valuable than just winning a few casuals. lolwut. That's just your unfamiliarity with the game talking. The execution is much, MUCH tighter in KoF, but the concepts are a lot easier to grasp. Once you wrap your head around the things you're practicing in P4A, you'll get the hang of it a lot quicker and be able to do it much more consistently than KoF things.
  16. Just broke 700 PSR / S Rank. Am I pro yet?
  17. Or if he plays first, Team "Klein Doesn't Get to Play at All." XD No offense to anybody. Uri's just really gud.
  18. Thank god. I have trouble with one Kanji as it is. I don't think I can handle two, especially not in a row.
  19. Score Attack is like an abusive spouse. It mistreats me, but I keep coming back to get God Hand pimp slapped in the face.
  20. Oh yeah, is there any word on if the new arcade has Wi-Fi/internet? I know the quality with the Hauppauge/my computer isn't the best, but we can still try to stream if it does.
  21. Wait, are there videos of SKD already? DO WANT 2 C
  22. Damn, beat me to it. My title right now is "Forbidden Touch." I have, like, nothing to choose from. XD
  23. That's impressive. I find the proration on that move in particular to be... Interesting. If you Fatal Counter it and OMB/OMC to use it four times in a row, the opponent will be able to tech immediately after the next hit of something (Cross Slash excluded). Though that may just be something involving SMP.
