  1. That's the thing though... They didn't want Lambda to have rush-forward moves along with a DP. DPs are usually AA also, remember? Lambda has her D swords, a reversal, rush-fowards and decent melee which can always chain into a 236B for push-away. She's incredibly solid. Leave her be. She's awesome.
  2. Just fought like 40 matches with kilabeep with my Haku. I'm getting better at the Bang matchup, which I assume only gets easier when I have black holes and long range pokes and better combos and an actual overhead that works. I think I need to stop super jumping on 623A combos. I whiff the dash > j2C ender all the time and it usually puts me in a bad position. But other than today, I haven't played in a while. All my hype is aimed at Makoto, although the SRK forums are full of tards lately who don't realize 3rd Strike is not SSF4.

  3. What have I missed lately? I don't think I've played a fighter in forever

  4. Counter Assault if he's using block strings. At least that's my two cents on that matter. If you don't have meter, look for an area where you can 2A > 3C and gtfo. Also, as Axis said, backdash can be punished by spark, so watch the meters. He's caught me many times with this. But otherwise, 5A or a 2A is your best bet in poking Tager out of something. Don't go panic mode and mash a 2C. Other than that, stick to barrier blocking to try to keep distance and backdash out or aim for a Counter Assault and run away (if you were cornered).
  5. As I quote from a friend: "I'm going to keep walking everywhere because it's a lot easier than learning how to drive".
  6. You got trolled by month old troll bait. Nice.
  7. My TE stick works on my PC. It's a 360 board, not sure if that would entirely matter though.
  8. Hey I found what discussions are like in the Nu/Lambda boards. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXiICSfaF6I

  9. Well, it's your first week or whatever on it. You can't expect instant results and whatnot. You just have to work with it and keep trying out what's comfortable. You shouldn't really mimic other grips until you know what's comfortable to you.

  10. Posted a picture of my grip in the "Help using a stick thread", fyi if you were wondering.

  11. What kind of characters do you play? If you play charge characters compared to shoto style, a different grip is generally advised. I normally stick to characters who aren't charge based, so I set my fingers like in the picture attached. Index and middle on the left side of the stick, ring and pinky on the underside as support, with the thumb used for back dash or 214 type motions.
  12. More like Lamerwulf. My brother always zoned with Fulgor. What a douche he was with that. Cinder was only in KI and not KI2 right? He was amazing too.

  13. In regards to "reacting" to a 2147D©, it's generally advised not to try anything. You're risking a CH, although from a 2147D CH isn't that bad in CS unless you're in or near a corner where Lambda could rapid and 6A loop. It's nearly the same as any wake up game. You normally want to play it safe instead of mashing out a button on your wake up and hoping to change the flow of the game. Besides, even Bang's almighty 5A is out of range when it comes to 2147D. I'm pretty certain you can make someone fall onto a saw blade if you 214D© > 2DD > 6DD > saw blade if spacing is correct. It's possible but not 100%.
  14. C-C-C-Combo Breaker! Oh man, the good times with Glacius. Best Killer Instinct character ever. EVER. Fuck yeah 6 uppercut combo.

  15. It draws more of a pedo/weeaboo fanbase. You know, the people who waste money on anything?
  16. Nature of this beast is D swords in your turtling FACE. Booya.

  17. I can't stand it when you turtle when its Haku vs Haku. It's like, well, someone has to rush in and take the 6A...

  18. So, I'm watching a SSF4 stream and they just showed Juri using her counter to get around fireballs and it made me think "oh fuck, don't give this to mAc" but then I thought shit would be amazing. Replace Haku's moveset with something similar to Tsubaki or Ragna, but keep the counter, and you have Juri. Just an fyi. Maybe she's your thing?

  19. It's really a hard fight to consider. Both sides can freely punish, so you really have to stick to your safe mix ups and generally burn RCs to add more of a mix up value. In Tsubaki's case, it's probably better to save meter for Counter Assaults to prevent getting pushed into a corner. The best advice I think I can think of at this moment is to learn Ragna block strings and know how to block against him. Your defense is going to be your best offense here since you need to push him away to get time to get a charge or two. Once you have that, apply pressure and make him think twice about reckless approaches.
  20. Wow that's surprising. Guess I'll just either CH it or gtfo. I did a few player matches with some Tagers who seemed to be trolling my Haku, although I gave them a run for their effort. Still much to learn with him... Where's my 4C and jC pokes when I need them D=

  21. So, is elbow drop with Tager safe or something against Haku? I just got punished hard for IBing elbow drop and trying to punish it. I tried to use 3C, I guess that's prolly my mistake.

  22. I suppose the only change I would really like to see on Lambda is a better 6A. I can't really ask for that though since D swords beat out anything else in the air. Overall, Lambda is very solid this time around. I know Bang's 5A is amazing and leads to heavy damage, but so does Ragna's really, except Ragna can get roughly 4k and huge meter gains from berial edge. But Bang has nails which let him get in as easily as Rachel's pumpkin in CT did. All in all, I'm still expecting people to hate Lambda due to her being the zoner of the game. But holy shit, it's amazing to find a good Haku or someone who knows how to get inside your D swords and cause all sorts of havoc. I really can't wait to see how the tournaments are going to be this season.
  23. You were my first opponent all night I used my Nu against, so all my TK sabers pretty much came out as spike chasers lol. I was trying to use them, but they screwed up a few hundred times so I limited myself on them and tried to stick to basics. I have no idea why I kept throwing out 236D after 3C and whatnot. I know it's punishable, I was just doing it for whatever unknown reason. Going in cold maybe? Donno. Retard moments. Also, the pink throws... It's hard to explain why I do them. I've had a lot of trouble previously getting air grabs, but I found out when I did IAD jC > throw, it catches people more frequently since they got hit out of their attack that normally would of stuffed my air grab. I still need to stop it though, it's not a good habit.

  24. Good matches. I need to keep playing my Nu.. You caught me on a Haku night and I know my Haku is nothing against your Nu =p But then I got disconnected after our last matches... Stupid ISP.

  25. An understandable concern. I will admit that there are professional pad players (even in Japan), but they're not very common. Arcade sticks are more traditional and don't seem to cramp your hands. When I practiced for 1 hour+ when I used a dpad, my hands would feel like I slammed a car door on them (exaggeration). Also, if you're really worried about CS and actually playing competitively, now is really a VERY good time to pick up learning an arcade stick. CS is still not coming out until July, giving you a few months to pass while learning the arcade stick on CT. Then, when CS hits, you're all prepared and have a decent understanding on how to use a stick. Unless you're picking up SSF4, then you might want to buy the arcade stick, like today.
