Yeah, stick is worse. :P Awesome. Just watch out for those food prices. I ended up paying almost as much for food as I did for my plane ticket. You have to find the right places to eat or you're going to get raped.

If you only got the game four days ago, then there is no way you're going to be that different from your friend. You're expecting to get too good too fast. It took my friends months before they knew what they were doing. Just play and get experience. If you're getting beat by someone doing random stuff then it just means you haven't developed your capabilities enough to punish them to make them not want to do it. Also if you're fighting someone who just flails around then there's no point in trying for more advanced things like mixup as mixup only works by fooling the player into thinking you're doing option X instead of Z. But you can't fool them if they're not even looking for what you're going to do or have no idea what you can do. Mixup is only something that comes in at more advanced levels of play. At your level you just want to punish unsafe moves and learn what goes into what, what to look out for, that kind of thing. -
Back hop Hotaru can be good for spacing. I'm not sure about back hop Tsubaki...

You might want to go to EVO if you want to go to any big American event. Might as well go all the way if you're going to go. :P
But anyway, the random systems and controllers is just part of the tourneys. I just roll with it. They used to be 360s but everyone uses PS3s now. -
Also it kind of sucks we can't play. I always wanted to play some of you PS3 Hakus.

Thanks. I did OK. I couldn't really play for real since those tournies are all ps3 and I use 360 pad, so I pretty much go to goof around and hang out with the other players. :P Somehow I always get 13th. I don't think I would have beaten the people who placed ahead of me anyway though.

I kept trying to 2D your j.2C and failing miserably. :P It's kind of weird that it's not an overhead... I still react to it like it is.

Yeah, maybe the next time they have an event like NEC. Or maybe EVO if I go to it again this year. I wouldn't have been able to offer much of a challenge without my controller anyway though. :P I can't wait to play Luna again and try applying some of the things we talked about.
I also saw Alz play and I want to try some of the things he did, although whether any of it works is for experimenting to find out. -
Isn't Carl a bad matchup? I remember seeing that pink Carl and thinking it was ZONG. Then I sat down at the bar while that match was going on and ZONG was there. :P So it was someone else... I pretty much got matched up against every Tager at NEC. :P Except Leo

How did I place not last I was glad I came. It ended up being a fun time and I got to see lots of familiar faces and some I didn't expect. The tournament brackets were fine... you handled it as best you could. Even having to start over it was faster than the SF4 brackets. Besides, I'm sure for a lot of people they actually liked it since they got to play more. Shoutouts to Stickbug for running a great tournament, and to his laptop for blowing up. Shoutouts to ZONG for being a cool guy. Shoutouts to everyone I played with my stick impaired Hakumen. Shoutouts to the SF4 brackets taking so long that we managed to play our tournament, have it collapse because of the laptop, start over, and still be ahead of them. Shoutouts to somehow getting matched up with my brother in like the first round in every tournament we go to. Shoutouts to K2 for his awesome Rachel. I thought he was dominating me just because I couldn't play but I saw him almost take down ZONG too so he was just a beast. Shoutouts to Leo and Kousaka everyone else I met, from Canada or otherwise. It was nice seeing familiar faces. Shoutouts to Henaki for not showing up and so he couldn't get bodied by my Hakumen.

Which Tager is that? I saw Leo at NEC, but I never got to see him actually play except against an Arakune. I was impressed by his blocking of all the different mixups. Of course, it was Tager against Arakune so in the end it wasn't enough.

If he 6B's why wait for the 2A to counter? Just counter the 6B.

Nah, playing with human opponents is better. The computer makes you play in a different way than you actually would against humans and you end up having to unlearn a lot of things.

All the folks were Canada were pretty great.

The risk reward isn't worth it and they do less damage than before. Not that I let that stop me. They didn't use them much in CT either. Actually, I disagree that they never get used. I believe they actually use the counters MORE in CS. At least, j.D. In CT I would pretty much never see counters unless it was something like countering Nu's 4D but in CS I see at least one j.D combo every now and then. If you enjoy using them though, just be mindful about it. I use them because I enjoy that aspect of his character.

That was a lot! I remember it now from videos I watched in the past. Or at least, I could just tell from watching some videos, how it worked. I was like, "Oh I bet I could use this for X". I always liked Marth's forward air slash and his upper air slash, and also his smash attacks.

Well, what about overheads and stuff? Isn't that pretty much made to get countered? There's a place for counters and hotaru. You just have to know where.

Why not just use 2B instead of 5B though? It's faster, is more + on block and it doesn't whiff on crouchers... unlike literally every time I hit 5B.

God I hate Samus. :P I always had some trouble with her as Marth. I could tell what wavedashing was all about, I just lacked the execution. GO DEEP into it. :P I already played the game like footsies with Marth, basically jumping around and hitting people with just the tip of my sword right outside the range of their attack, that kind of thing. I don't know what those things are either. :P
