  1. I sense saltiness. :P
  2. CT and CS Haku... I'll get to that in a moment. :P What did you think of our matches tonight?

  3. Yeah, maybe the next time they have an event like NEC. Or maybe EVO if I go to it again this year. I wouldn't have been able to offer much of a challenge without my controller anyway though. :P I can't wait to play Luna again and try applying some of the things we talked about. :kitty: I also saw Alz play and I want to try some of the things he did, although whether any of it works is for experimenting to find out.

  4. Isn't Carl a bad matchup? I remember seeing that pink Carl and thinking it was ZONG. Then I sat down at the bar while that match was going on and ZONG was there. :P So it was someone else... I pretty much got matched up against every Tager at NEC. :P Except Leo
  5. How did I place not last I was glad I came. It ended up being a fun time and I got to see lots of familiar faces and some I didn't expect. The tournament brackets were fine... you handled it as best you could. Even having to start over it was faster than the SF4 brackets. Besides, I'm sure for a lot of people they actually liked it since they got to play more. Shoutouts to Stickbug for running a great tournament, and to his laptop for blowing up. Shoutouts to ZONG for being a cool guy. Shoutouts to everyone I played with my stick impaired Hakumen. Shoutouts to the SF4 brackets taking so long that we managed to play our tournament, have it collapse because of the laptop, start over, and still be ahead of them. Shoutouts to somehow getting matched up with my brother in like the first round in every tournament we go to. Shoutouts to K2 for his awesome Rachel. I thought he was dominating me just because I couldn't play but I saw him almost take down ZONG too so he was just a beast. Shoutouts to Leo and Kousaka everyone else I met, from Canada or otherwise. It was nice seeing familiar faces. Shoutouts to Henaki for not showing up and so he couldn't get bodied by my Hakumen.
  6. Which Tager is that? I saw Leo at NEC, but I never got to see him actually play except against an Arakune. I was impressed by his blocking of all the different mixups. Of course, it was Tager against Arakune so in the end it wasn't enough.
  7. If he 6B's why wait for the 2A to counter? Just counter the 6B.
  8. Nah, playing with human opponents is better. The computer makes you play in a different way than you actually would against humans and you end up having to unlearn a lot of things.
  9. All the folks were Canada were pretty great.
  10. The risk reward isn't worth it and they do less damage than before. Not that I let that stop me. They didn't use them much in CT either. Actually, I disagree that they never get used. I believe they actually use the counters MORE in CS. At least, j.D. In CT I would pretty much never see counters unless it was something like countering Nu's 4D but in CS I see at least one j.D combo every now and then. If you enjoy using them though, just be mindful about it. I use them because I enjoy that aspect of his character.
  11. Nope CT haku fits more :(

  12. That was a lot! I remember it now from videos I watched in the past. Or at least, I could just tell from watching some videos, how it worked. I was like, "Oh I bet I could use this for X". I always liked Marth's forward air slash and his upper air slash, and also his smash attacks.

  13. Well, what about overheads and stuff? Isn't that pretty much made to get countered? There's a place for counters and hotaru. You just have to know where.
  14. Why not just use 2B instead of 5B though? It's faster, is more + on block and it doesn't whiff on crouchers... unlike literally every time I hit 5B.
  15. God I hate Samus. :P I always had some trouble with her as Marth. I could tell what wavedashing was all about, I just lacked the execution. GO DEEP into it. :P I already played the game like footsies with Marth, basically jumping around and hitting people with just the tip of my sword right outside the range of their attack, that kind of thing. I don't know what those things are either. :P

  16. Probably casual. I always try to get good at games I play but I didn't exactly even know there was a scene for it back in the day. I just played with my friends as much as I could and whenever other people would play it. I was pretty much the best in my area or best as far as people I'd play. I could never figure out how wavedashing worked. I always liked Smash, but I still have a hard time thinking of it as a real fighting game. It's not Street Fighter 2. I think even the competitive environment is casual in comparison probably. :P There's still a large gap between a "competitive" player and someone who doesn't know what they're doing though. I was always interested in finding more players to play. I knew as soon as I heard that Brawl would have online that it would be unplayable because of all the split second shit I have to pull off when I play :P Too bad it turned out it wasn't just the netplay that was unplayable. :toot: Who did you use? I also used Mewtwo.

  17. Shoryuken, or the website which is basically Dustloop for Street Fighter. Shoryuken is basically a universal DP term in fighting games though, for the motion of 623.
  18. I've never used it to randomly hit people out of pokes. I don't trust my execution enough for it; I'd get hit out of my hop instead. I just use it for frame traps and punishing baited anti airs. What are the situational uses for 5B and 5C?
  19. Look at the frame data. Hell's is -4 on normal block. On instant block it's -9 (IB lets you recover five frames faster, so instead of him being able to move four frames after you he has to wait nine.) Then look at what moves you can use that are below 9 frames of startup. I'm pretty sure you can throw, but it depends on the throw range. Here's the frame data: http://dustloop.com/guides/bbcs/ SD (static difference) shows the recovery on a move, if you don't cancel it into another move. You would need to look at Jin's moves and what character you're trying to stop. A jab will probably always work if it's a move that can be IB punished, but some punishes you could do better with.
  20. So you're saying jumping is good? Because I hear the opposite a lot.
  21. That's the best way to do it :P People always burst and don't let me have the satisfaction :(

  22. Hey. It's this weekend, in Philadelphia. Plenty of people coming. I just went back home (to PA) for Thanksgiving this weekend, so I dunno if I want to go back again (it's a 3 hour drive) but... why the hell not :P I dunno.

  23. Are you going to NEC? I was thinking of going to it. I still use a 360 pad though, even though I own a stick. Which is a problem for these events since they're all PS3s. :P I usually just use my brother's stick or borrow somebody else's, but then I pretty much go in there just to goof around and see everyone play, since playing on a stick for me is like having weights tied around your legs in a race.
