Just to be clear, since you're a beginner. TRM means Throw Reject Miss. The reason people say not to mash in air combos is because when you try to tech using B and C, even if you don't press them at the same time, the game's frame buffer interprets it as a throw attempt and if they try to purple throw you, you'll get a throw reject miss. And purple throws REALLY hurt. But if you do this then mashing isn't so bad. You still need to react to purple grabs though.

I'm really bad with names, it'll take me a while to remember everybody's. So I'll just shout out to everyone I got to meet, I had a lot of fun at the tournament and would love to come back. I made my own little trip to Game Galaxy for their monthly BB tournament. It was fun until I had to drive back home, the weather was unbelievable. Rain, lightning, hail and fog reduced my visibility to nothing for ~40 minutes straight while I drove down winding mountain roads. I was scared

taokaka has some decent tech traps. She can use 2B to catch back techs and cross under neutral techs. The thing about Blazblue is that Okizeme is much stronger in the corner for every character due to your opponent's wake-up options. Once cornered, effectively the only roll tech option is out of the corner, so you can just use a move that will stop forward rolls and recovers quickly on whiff to force neutral techs (like tao's 5B). There are few (if any) tech traps from midscreen which can stop both forward and backward rolls, so you have to choose one. There are also alternative situations for offense, like air tech traps. And keep in mind that, as a Taokaka player, you have very strong keepaway and neutral game against much of the cast, so it's not the end of the world if you can't force okizeme situations.

grabs are good but no one's mixup game is based on them (barring command grabs), everyone can do it. Tsubaki is more about strike/strike mixup to create frametraps and punish escape attempts. she's like a bad version of makoto, she lacks damage and meterless tools and okizeme setups.

I took her into training mode once for 15 minutes with andrew. that's really it. you've reminded me to practice her today.

I don't mean to be a hater but we already essentially had a Georgia crew since last semester, when we started the BB gatherings. It's a bit redundant to have another crew for the same state, unless it was for a region like south Georgia that's super far from Atlanta. There's a void in my life now that I have no desire to practice Blazblue. I started playing Jak and Daxter again out of desperation but it's brought me a lot of nostalgia, such a good game.

so I stayed up until 10AM on friday playing exactly 150 matches of MvC3, and hot damn I leveled up hard. My Iron Man and Ammy are way more solid. I'm starting to like Dormammu more but his assists don't seem very useful. Liberation sucks, I don't need OTG purification and it's too hard to follow up otherwise, and Ammy's Cold Star fills the same purpose as Dark Hole and better. He also feels really meter dependent and I like to use meter to safely DHC in. So... what's a better anchor for my team? and I will never play sentinel.

If you think Arakune likes to spam 5C, you can counter it. Makoto has one of the most insanely good anti-air baits in the game (j2C), so take advantage of it. Also if you're low enough to the ground, you can do something like falling jCC > 4AB. If he tries to 5C you and you're low enough, you'll cancel the landing recover and block it. You shouldn't be in the air a lot against arakune though. Makoto has some really nice options to stop his air to ground approach (parry, 6A). The key to winning is taking it slow, avoiding his curses and blowing him the fuck up when he makes a mistake. Punishes against holding up back to escape everything are really important against him.

Sounds great, I'd love to play if I can go there. I don't know if I will though. I have to go to Peter's concert with chamber choir and it's like 2 hours long... also I'm raging that I missed yet another opportunity to beat skeletal minion and win lots of money
