I covered most of the gimmicks, frame traps, block-strings on the gameplay mechanics thread. I guess people aren't really interested in discussing this any further as most of them have developed their own block-strings and block-strings are something which should vary. Use the same block-strings too often and the opponent will know when to jump out/back dash, when to push A, etc. Gimmicks and frame traps have mostly been the same throughout the series.

5A pressure is meant to be abused like that, so do it, do it while it's still +1 on block lol. What GGJ said. I hear you on the bombs, I too just wanna get rid of them as quickly as possible. They're pretty good for mid-screen oki though, 3C > 214D works wonders mid-screen. I can't wait til we get 3 bombs in EX so I can just throw them away with 214D and be done with it. As far as combos go, if you land them in the corner then you can usually dash in there and do a 5C starter combo or Mami starter combo. I personally found that to be the easiest of Plat's combo tools to master. Practice by doing 6C > j.C, the moment you're able to do j.C is also the moment when you can cancel to Swallow Moon.

I'm not hearing it to be quite honest with you. Don't like this one much. The Japanese equivalent of the CT announcer has got to be Carl B. She's classy and sexy at the same time. My personal favorite is still Tao B, Carl B a close second, and Tsubaki B as third. I do agree with you about Noel and Rachel B, kawaii uguu~ and classy respectively. I don't acknowledge the A types, they all sound equally horrible.

Yeah, you have the option of doing 5C > Air Combo or 5C > 6A > 236B. Although I don't know why anyone would use 5B at a range where 6A might work. Frame traps I guess?

So... what exactly are you trying to do? What does the entire combo look like?

This, she's not a character that can go in the field and get wins if you're playing her half-assed. If you're not gonna do that then the first thing that I would recommend that you learn is the 22C combos from 6A, 6C, 2C, and j.C in the corner. Once you've mastered them in the corner, practice them mid-screen via RCs and air throws. The second thing that I would recommend that you learn ASAP is proper block-strings and mix-ups. Never be auto-pilot with Plat, that gets you blown up harder than with other characters. Know when to TK Swallow, when to command grab, when to use 6B, when to frame trap, all that jazz. The hammer loop is easy as fuck, you only have to time one thing and that's the link from j.D(2) to 5C. That one comes naturally so don't worry too much about learning it ASAP.

BEEN HAD POKEMON THREADS I'd also like to add another vote to Kyou-Chan. He was a beast and I assume he's still a beat now. I'm with the people that have proposed that a tournament is made for each region/console. That seems like the best way to handle things without going against LK's wishes. Now it's all about who wants to set it up and if they'll be able to make it just as hype lol.

Well that answers that lol I kinda agree with the whole "only 8 players?" and "EC only?". I believe that if you made this a 16 person tournament and let Midwest people in on this then this will be even more hype. I'm pretty sure there are at least 16 pretty good players if you were to include players from the Midwest. There might be an underdog that you don't know or haven't played hidden out there that ends up making it to the top 4, hell might even take the tournament. An underdog taking this will make shit explode with hype lol. Just my 2 cents.
