  1. Yup, air-to-air and jump ins are the way to go against Bang. You don't have to worry about him 2A'ing you out of your j.Cs like you do with other characters (Jin, Ragna, Hazama, etc.)
  2. Do you guys know who the strong Relius players are? Sekido was doing some work with him, same with Shadow and this Q guy. I haven't seen that many good Relius' other than that. Then again, he is a relatively new character and people are still figuring him out.
  3. I don't know, the guy can pressure you to death if you don't take any risks. IB > DP D his nails from time to time to keep him honest. Otherwise just super jump away, at least you don't have to eat the ground mix-up if you block them in the air. Bangs that can use his Bumper setups correctly are scary but scarce and those that can use Furinkazan are extremely rare lol.
  4. I think that Tetsu landed it on an aerial opponent and that's why I was skeptical as to if it would work on grounded opponents, haven't seen it in any other match outside of that as well lol. @Solex - I seriously do not remember ever having read about that combo path or if I did, I most likely forgot about it lol. Dayum, the Sekkajin untechable time boost really shows. Now we can do some ludicrous crap like Air Throw > AD > j.2C > j.C > dashing 5B > 5C > Sekkajin > 6C > 214C. We can only end that combo with the dashing 5B > 5C > 3C > 214C ender in CSII lol.
  5. Oyakata... sama... Yeah, I couldn't pass Utage at that price and it seems like it will be a Japan only game. Might as well. @xlolx - Yeah, he still has that skill, it's his R2 skill.
  6. Which skill is that? I didn't play SB2. I'm guessing it's the one where he lunges forward real quick. Heheh, I'm gonna have to one-up you on that whole hole on the wallet thing, I just payed an attorney $350 and I owe the state another $300 for court fees and whatnot. The system works! (Shiiiiiiiiii...) Get Utage when you get the chance though, shit's worth it and it's only $44 with shipping on Play-asia.com.
  7. Goddamn, KEI's Jin is fun as hell to watch and he really stepped his shit up now. I would get into the whole KoF hype (a Mexican not playing KoF? Madness!) but I've already blown way too much money in video games this year. SB3:Utage is the last game for this year. Worth it though, Ice Fairy (Kenshin) is broken and fun as hell, way better than I expected.
  8. - "can't pick up with 2B after 6A seems like, only 3C works." The fuck? How does that work? Is Jin too far away for 2B to hit after 6A or something? I'm liking the whole Freeze > IAD > j.2C > j.C > Sekkajin stuff. How could I not think of it earlier? I was just planning to do dashing 5B if close and dashing 6B if far for the mid-screen combo off a freeze but this is obviously better lol. Well lookie here, looks like j.C CH > 2D works as long as you're relatively close to the ground: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMRZOGxZKyE#t=1m53s
  9. Gay, that j.C nerf seems so unnecessary and now even j.C CH > dashing 6C is impossible. It's not like j.C was OP, we could only get some decent damage out of it on CH. I'm guessing that the only thing we can get out of a j.C CH on a grounded opponent is a dashing 5B > Sekkajin combo if we're close enough or a dashing 5C > 5D > 214D > corner stuff if we're too far and I'm not too happy about spending meter to do damage, we already have 6A for that. I could live with the 6C nerf if it only affected the 6C > DC > 5C combo path but now 6C > 2D is situational too.
  10. Try j.C CH > dashing 6C > 2D on grounded opponents and see if that works. For an air j.C CH, you wanna do j.C CH > dashing 5C > 2C > 2D.
  11. I just imagine a gray and black Hakumen.
  12. 3C > 236D resets, that is all. He was a huge step up from CT Jin, I honestly felt like he got buffed really. CT Jin was just downright retarded. CSII Jin is and will be my favorite Jin. His combo options are damn near limitless... combos from one corner to the other, mid-screen, mid-screen to the corner, close to the corner, in the corner, etc. Not one of the EX Jins has been able to "wow" me thus far, Ren comes close but still not quite there.
  13. I'm probably going to go back to subbing Platinum since she's a viable character now. I'll give Relius a try but I don't like the fact that he's pretty much useless without his blow up doll, for God's sakes the guy can't even combo on his own :/
  14. That's good to know, I hope he brings home some good news lol.
  15. Yeah, I've seen that you have to be right next to the opponent for 6C > 2D to work. We have to do 6A > RC > dashing 5C now if we want 6C > 2D to work mid-screen. So we're stuck with 5C > 6C > 214C on crouching opponents if we're not at 5B (2-hits) range, that's about 1K worth of damage dropped. With the 6C nerf, we're losing 500 to over 1K potential damage mid-screen as well as corner carriage.
  16. lol at Jin being C tier. Are the nerfs really THAT bad? I mean, he still does a solid 3K off 5B mid-screen and gets 3.6K+ in the corner. j.C still zones the shit out of people, it's just that you won't get much out of a CH this time around, the same goes for a j.B/j.2C CH. 6A CH/RC really hurts this time around, making the RC worth it. Meh, I guess I'll just have to find out the hard way when the time comes.
  17. I've been doing that since I found out that DP C misses on Makoto if you don't do a dashing 6C which was way back in May. It shouldn't be a problem for me lol. I've got few combos in mind already using 214A whenever the DP loop is not an option. It shouldn't take me more than a few minutes to kill that habit since we're already aware of it. It's good to hear that about 2C, sure it's slow as hell but the I-frames will at least make it more than combo filler now. They need to give 6D its primer breaking properties back, +12 on block is not good enough of a reward for the risk of getting stuffed due to its insanely long start-up.
  18. That's true but I just can't commit myself to a single play style, I gotta have a bit of everything and that goes for every fighting game that I've played lol. People used him more because of his simplicity and because of his tier standing in those two games. I go all out against people who just pick Jin because of that.
  19. I mean, don't people usually play X character because it fits their playing style? I like balance: projectiles, DPs, the ability to zone to an extent, and the ability to rush to an extent. That's Jin right there. I couldn't stop playing as him even if I wanted to (which I wouldn't, since I have hella fun with resets and the occasional gimmicks) because he fits my playing style just perfectly.
  20. Yup, Hazama is overall the best CPU character to spar with. He doesn't have a DP outside of Jayoku, so you don't have to worry about pressing a button and just getting DP'd. He'll help you with your IB'ing, with both his chains and his block strings. If you want to practice teching throws and testing your reflexes, then Taokaka is your girl. Lambda for IB'ing swords, she loves to cross you up and throw you, so here you can test your ability to tech throws and see how often you can 5A her out of her cross-up attempts. lol at playing against the CPU but what else are we gonna do if we can't netplay at that time, right?
  21. Black is my salty color, that means that some son of a bitch just picked my main color and forced me to get black lol. I would have gone with the black palette if it wasn't for Jin's fugly green hair.
  22. Jin ending a corner combo with DP C and then doing a safe jump OS with j.2C. I didn't know about that cross-up barrier/j.B and low profile against Makoto's DP OS, good shit people.
  23. That nerf is not nearly as bad as the 6C nerf, we can still combo off of it on CH although no more j.C CH > 2D on grounded opponents. We just need better reactions for it now. j.2C still leads to dashing 5B on a regular hit, it's all good.
  24. This. If this means less Jin mirrors for me to deal with, then I'm okay with it. The way I see it... CSII Jin > CS Jin > CSX Jin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CT Jin.
  25. You want them to block though, all the way down until you can use your AUBs. Yup, you can get blown up by his j.B and j.C if you're not careful. Gotta condition him to block by throwing some DP As out there from time to time.
