Damn, TD, your Mu's better than mine >.<
-
Lol tried netplaying on my brother's laggy tv.... Wow, it's like playing a completely different game.
-
Oh xckaiser you're from MA... No wonder we got such good connection. Ok, looking into getting a used ps3... For the mean runge I may hop on my brothers ps3 here and there >.< *mean while... Silly swype
-
PS3 broke for the second time in 4 months? Looks like the lens is dead YET again. Think I'm gonna be gone for a while guys, take care~ Maybe I'll come back for BB3
-
"Bang Bang Litchi later," it is, then.
-
Good point, but if playing Litchi is not fun for him, maybe he should learn some easier characters to just get a better feel for the game... And then come back and play litchi! Like, you have to bang some ugly chicks to move on to your dream girl. ....Hey, so long as we're making off the tangent analogies.......
-
Yo star, why don't you try a simpler character? Litchi seems awfully complicated. Pick something ezmode, like mu, and profit!
-
It's ok, I think I have a headache from trying to 6c full screen hells fangs
-
It's ok axis I played some troll matches vs batousai in your stead
-
May all your redbeats bluebeat, and may all my bluebeats reset into redbeats. I repeat this prayer every time I play.
-
We need a tag system on dloop so I can respond to all the name drops immediately WTF I do this time? I just press buttans & pray
-
Ggs last night Toan. I do my best to block wheel oki but god damn, blocking gets old... I gotta punish you for late forward teching but it's so hard after a couple glasses of makers mark...
-
Ah, makes sense. I wonder how long it takes for the sword to travel? Man, I gotta really get in the 6c range then, and mash it like a boss.
-
BTW Toan I did some late fact-checking and it looks like Mu 6c is 20 frames of startup whereas Lambda 5d is 15 frames?
-
Is that a serious question? No, I've never played tager, ever.
-
Good point, I should try that.
-
Never said I want faster normals. That would be broken and stupid. what I'm saying is most of the cast have tools to not get derped by mu's C series. Toan 6c is good vs lamda, but it's also shorter than lambda 5d. I have to gamble hard to land it. I dont pretend mu is a bad char. In fact at low to med level of play, where I think I belong, she's pretty gdlk
-
@toan - I'm so free to lambda it's kind of embarrassing @zeron - lol 6d Btw who is justeen_biever? @mu haters - Good players play the matchup and figure out mu is a fraud character with slow normals and gimmicky zoning. Bad players mash 5b and complain when it doesn't work.

I’m sorry I can’t give any direct tips because honestly, this matchup can play out in very unexpected ways. So instead of having a list of direct counters, I try to keep keep some rules of thumb. They've been somewhat helpful, many of them hard learned from getting bodied repeatedly lol. 1. Never 236a full screen when on top of a pole (lol) or when Rachel has 50 meter. 2. Don’t be afraid to s.j high up and drop a stein. All you need is one laser hit to stop Rachel’s flow of bukkake monsters. 3. Always watch out for Tempest Dahlia super. Rachel w/ 50 meter = Tager w/ spark volt. 4. Mix it up. One round, spend time zoning. Next round, RTSD. 5. Expect eager Rachels to wind IAD, and 6a her out. 6. Straight up run through George and grab Rachel to cancel summon. 7. Watch how comfortable Rachel gets w/ lobelias. Make her afraid of 6c 8. Be careful even after green bursting, Rachel might attempt to get right back in w/ winded IAD. Anticipate and 6a. 9. Good time to burst is when she’s out of wind stocks. 10. After Rach breaks ground throw, she can 66b to beat your 236a or 5c attempt. Better to return to neutral. 11. Sometimes just resign yourself to blocking (I don’t do this very well) Pretty obvious things, but it's sometimes hard not to screw up.

Hah. Didn't mean to come off so negative. It's my sense of humor, really. Although I've never played any Persona games I'm moderately hyped for P4A and wish it all the best. I'm going to try Naoto first. Anything to drive out the 3d fighters and the Crapcom flagships, really. But can it really do it? We know it's got the advantage of coming from an established franchise with a pretty dedicated fanbase (persona fans I've talked to really are passionate about the series). But could it have the staying power? Can the fragmented anime FGC muster itself to give better support than what it has for BBEX (which, imo, is not a bad game at all)? I think this much skepticism is healthy, no?
-
What I want to happen: BB3 gets announced. Some studio makes a BB anime. It is licensed and imported to the US. Media distributors shell out money to support BB tournaments. BB becomes a gdlk tourney game with hype sprouting everywhere. We'll have BB parades akin to all dem other pride parades. I die a happy death. What will probably happen: P4A gets released. Hype ensues. People jump ship, play that for a while. BB3 gets announced. P4A dies when BB3 comes out. Anime fighters continue to be unpopular. World goes on.

I respectfully disagree. I believe the matchup is dead even at 5:5. Most Rachel players don’t know how to shut down Mu’s zoning, but Rachel can react to practically everything Mu does, whereas Mu has to make really good guesses (as opposed to reaction) to stop Rachel from setting up her stuff. It really comes down to how well Rachel manages her wind stocks and how well she directs the lobelias. Mu is mostly “time-based zoning”, with 236a being the only “direct zoning” available. But Rachel can control a lot of space directly with her lobelias, which set up George XIII and Pumpkin. And I believe these are much better tools than Mu’s 236d or 214d for setting up offense. Even if Rachel chooses not to bother with setting things up, she can just RTSD with her winded approach. Consider that Mu has a much harder time getting in on Rachel. Anywhere outside of 5c range, Rachel can preemptively zone (lobelia) or simply fly away. Rachel can force very conservative stein placements/cancels just by having that full screen winded IAD. That’s not to say this is a bad matchup. If a Rachel makes mistakes or gets too predictable, Mu can punish her pretty well. A well timed 6c FC turns around rounds. You can sometimes 6d 214d to catch a predictable Rachel spamming random lobelias. And, as we all agree, Mu’s return on these confirmed hits is extremely strong. I just don’t agree with the oversimplified notion that Mu’s zoning “beats” Rachel’s. Rachel players have to be clever and properly wind lobelias, but that doesn’t make Mu’s zoning straight up superior to Rachel's in this matchup. With Mu’s huge damage, Mu only has to get in once or twice to win, which she can manage despite not having access to her strongest setups vs. Rachel. But at neutral, it’s an uphill battle vs. Rachel who knows what she’s doing. Source: getting bodied by TD repeatedly for many many moons.
