So, a pretty big system change which nobody mentioned. You can't cancel air normals into grabs any more. Not even command grabs. Need to jump cancel for those netplay grabs now I guess lol.

 

nobody mentioned it because its not true, just hoping nobody gets the wrong idea from this, normals are still cancelable into airthrow.

I kind of figured after everybody started listing exceptions.

 

You have to be very thorough with your testing if you want to say something you just stumbled across is a system change and not just a character change. And it might even just be something you didn't notice before that was always there so you'd have to test across versions of the game too.

speaking of general system changes, there is a huge total duration increase on normal throw whiff animations, both air and ground. i like this change tbh!

 

this doesn't carry over into landing recovery or anything, so that is all the same (would be pretty significant for izayoi, lol)

That would suck ass.  No more instant GA dash empty high into low.  The horror.

Any idea how much? Like the ballpark. 10 frames, 20 frames.

i think its recovery going from 15 to ~22. Doesnt really sound like a lot on paper but in terms of situations that a throw might whiff in, those 7 frames go a long way for reacting and punishing.

Anyway in player match you can't do training mode waiting for players... Why? ._____.

 

What? Really? But people said it was there!  I feel cheated.

 

I may seriously not buy this game now. I wasn't joking when I said that feature was a dealbreaker.

I love what they've done with Makoto. People die now.

She used to have a damage problem? I remember getting hit by makoto not being fun....................................................in OD

Seeing on how she's actually viable this time around, I might try her out.  Then again, I've been saying that about a lot of characters lately.....

Bullet is better and much more fun for me with all the extra combo paths. No more rapid to get 2 heat anymore = more DD's, knock backs under pressure and have been getting more astrals this time around. Capture resets are sick along with Capture Break into 720 mixups.

I bought the original CP with reasonable enthusiasm, because it was a full release for a fair price and all that sort of thing.  I didn't find out until later that they'd apparently decided to drop one of my favorite features for no good reason at all.

 

My personal jury is still out on CPE, but lack of train while waiting for opponents is a huge stroke against it.   Having to choose between "Maybe I'll be able to fight a real person" and "I'd like to get some training in." is awful.  It seriously impairs my ability to get better at these games.  That's pretty much all there is to it.

Tsubaki is OK i guess, she needs work and struggle where she shouldn't (most notable issue are the hitboxes and char spec stuff)

 

She plays mostly the same than before, neutral is still crap, oki is non existent, mixup are gimmickish, but she hits like a truck. CS2 remains the best to me, but don't underestimate her damage even without install charges.
