naikou Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 I've been saving Tao's Heat for Hexa-edge, since it's her only reversal.
Magile Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 What's the best tool for IADing toward an opponent/winning an air battle? I'm finding j.C seems to not hit when I need it too, and j.A just seems too short with no priority. When I use j.B, I often trade with the opponent (better than nothing), but it still feels like it's the wrong one.

FoxSpirit Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Fact: Tao's Astral definitely needs a revision in the next part
Final_Round Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 does taokaka have any invinciblity when does her drive threw the person... also does she have any invincible with her hexa edge on start up and does it remain the same when you have abt thanks
ShakunohaChaos Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 does taokaka have any invinciblity when does her drive threw the person... also does she have any invincible with her hexa edge on start up and does it remain the same when you have abt thanks No Taokaka does not have inviniblity on her d~b. I think she is invincible on her hexa edge, cuz its a dp
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I've seen some Invul on Hexa Edge in a match once, not sure if the attack whiffed or I invul'd through it, it's hard for me to tell.
Taokakaism Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I've found out that 236A is a pretty bad 'pressure' move, especially if the opponent has a SRK. I've learnt from experience in the past where I'd scratch at least 4 to 7 times. During these time, it all seemed to work with opponents who are new at this game. One day, ONE DAY, this Jin user IB'd my 4th scratch into a Arrow Of Ice. From then on, I've stopped scratching more than 3 times. If they have barrier guard, it's highly unlikely u'd get to continue pressuring them. 5C or 2B after a few scratches works quite well for most of the cast. I only continue to scratch them if they burst and my first scratch connects.
Final_Round Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 ok i have a few questions more like alot of questions regarding taokaka 1. can you back dash out of her grab 2.Why does tao curl up after getting hit by certain moves. 3.I tried using her cat spirit one as a meaty attack but it just whiffed completely and i got a free punch in the face... ok does she have any attacks that can be called " meaty attacks'" 4.how come her " imma beat the crap out of you" beat's certain supers... jin's,litchi if timed right, nu, but then gets stuff by noel jab or ragna's jab 5.is it better to combo into her hexa edge then to use it in a up and personal fight... 6.what would be a good use for her sticky kitty... i found it very useful against jin's but what are some that you people found. 7.is there any true frame data on taokaka moves.. and supers. like that include start up frame, invincibility frames, recover

Just_here2 Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 4.how come her " imma beat the crap out of you" beat's certain supers... jin's,litchi if timed right, nu, but then gets stuff by noel jab or ragna's jab A few things about her pounce super. -Although it does have invincibility during startup, it has no other invincibility frames. -Any moves that are considered projectiles (Noel's C moves, Bang nails, etc.) will stuff your super. -Tao does not grab the opponent during the rising part of her super, so don't think you can do it up close and immediately grab him. -The super always has the same time duration no matter how far your opponent is from you. -And of course, how far she jumps depends on the distance of your opponent.
TGS Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 If you have 100% Heat, and you're feeling confident/risky/insane/bored, you could try doing her Almost Becoming Two and try to land a Taunt xx HexaEdge for lol damage (upwards to about 50%+ depending on who you're fighting)... Other than that, you could try doing some fancy RC mixups to try to crack open your opponent. Also, obligatory hot Tao pic attached. =3
RinHara5aki Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I wasn't really sure if I should've posted in the video section or here, but I'd like higher level Tao's 'round here to critique my match. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6yb6PZCja8 I'm still workin hard with Tao, but there's always room for improvement. I think I need to do a little more work in the air, I think I stay on the ground too much.. And I defend at the wrong times -__-..
Amarxist Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Rin, can't really provide you much critique but on a neutral throw you can 4d and lead it into a drive loop before a normal person spamming buttons can tech out of it. In training mode the CPU usually tech's out of it half the time before you reach them.
KrsJin Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I don't really know what recovery is considered 'safe' in BB so I figure I'll ask this here. What's 6C like on normal block? More specifically, what's 5C, 6C looking like in terms of safety if both are blocked?
XDest Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 The frame data says -7/-5. Means it's actually pretty safe. But really easy to CH since it's so slow.
Blade Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Regarding Tao's D pressure moves and hop-overs, I'm having trouble with the cross-up transitions. Stuff like D hopover then the dropping 4D on the other side...is that doable? Basically switching from Tao pressure on the left to Tao pressure on the right, I mean.

ShakunohaChaos Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I have a question for anyone who can help. How can we as Tao players break someone guard librea? its takes a while for Tao to break one. Are there any set-ups we can use to break a guard cuz if we can find a new way to break guards fast it will make taokaka more of a force to mess with. Im working on some stuff now, i just need to find out the guard librea levels for each character. I also need to find out how much health/defense everyone has, so we can figure out easy ways to winning matches
Desov2 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Is this what you wanted? I got it from http://s1.zetaboards.com/blazblue/pages/01/#hb But here it is for easy reference. Total Health Points Ragna 10000 Jin 11500 Noel 11000 Tager 13000 Taokaka 10500 Rachel 11000 Arakune 10500 Bang 11500 Litchi 11000 Carl 9500 Hakumen 12000 √ - 13 10000 Guard Libra Rate Ragna 100% Jin 120% Noel 100% Tager 150% Taokaka 80% Rachel 110% Arakune 90% Bang 100% Litchi 110% Carl 80% Hakumen 140% √ - 13 100%
Final_Round Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 i wish her guard libra wasn't so bad ..... i truly do it makes being defensive a hard fuking time... also... what are the properties of her taunt ... can someone break it down.. i have seen pro level tao use this all the time in combos
Hi-C Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 i wish her guard libra wasn't so bad ..... i truly do it makes being defensive a hard fuking time... Hey, Carl has it worse.
RinHara5aki Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 i wish her guard libra wasn't so bad ..... i truly do it makes being defensive a hard fuking time... also... what are the properties of her taunt ... can someone break it down.. i have seen pro level tao use this all the time in combos True, carl does have it much worse :P I dont really understand what you mean by "properties", but there are a couple of fun facts about it. It does 1 dmg, so you CAN kill someone with it, its just ridiculously funny. It also prorates 150%!! Thats why taunt combo's do so much damage, because the damage you did before started prorating alot, but you then bring some of the damage back up AFTER you do the taunt if you hit successfully. Double taunt combo's aren't even funny XD. You can see a nasty example of a taunt combo, while he was "Almost becoming two!" 'd. Combo #3. A nasty 7684 dmg >:3 A normal 236236D while "Almost becoming two!" doesn't do NEARLY as much damage. Try it yourself! :3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMrqEzK23S0 I dont know everything about it, others do though :P
