zreb Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 trying to press D and C at the same time for saber feint has worked out for me (but I suppose it's entirely possible pending on how you mashbutton that you might hit c first which could screw up the input?)
SolarMisae Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I usually don't use the feint version but I have tried it in training before. I usually just do what the person above me said and start mashing j.DD immediately after j.214D~C...it's probably a bad habit but it works for me. xP
zreb Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 The window for it seems pretty tight, but it is possible. I'm not amazing at it, but I can reproduce it. I'm sure cancelling the 214d quickly is pretty important to not missing the untechable time which is why I would suggest trying DC vs hitting D and C separate to the guy who was having trouble with it..
SolarMisae Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Yup, makes sense. I'll have to try that myself now. xD;
Overheat Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 You can do either: j.DD > j.214D~C > j.DD > dj.2DD j.DD > dj.2DD > dj.214D~C > dj.DD Can do j.DD or j.2DD, or feint during the first or second jump, but that depends on spacing.
germanturkey Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 hmm, so straight up j2dd > j214d~c > j2dd combo together? like if you use j2dd for zoning? i know its possible to do it in the standard combo finisher but i didn't know it could be done "standing"
SolarMisae Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 hmm, so straight up j2dd > j214d~c > j2dd combo together? like if you use j2dd for zoning? i know its possible to do it in the standard combo finisher but i didn't know it could be done "standing" Actually, I believe you end up a little lower in the air then your opponent after you C cancel the j.214D so you could possibly use j.DD instead of j.2DD depending on positioning, since j.2DD is more likely to whiff. But to answer the question, yes I'm pretty sure it does combo even if you used it on it's own outside of a proper combo. From the ground, I find it fun to do IAD > j.2DD > j.214D~C > j.DD > j.2DD > j.214D Though, that might only work on the taller characters like Tager, though I've gotten it to work on Noel in training...though I think there is a certain range you'd need to be at for it to work. If not you could just drop the extra j.DD and just go straight into j.2DD after the j.214D~C.
Fireryda Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 somebody posted before but j.2DD pops them up and bring them closer to you so depending on their height / hitbox doing j.2DD > j.214D~C > j.2DD might whiff. Just need to adjust to positioning, you'll know when to after a bit of practice doing it.
toanenadiz Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Quick question. When does 632146D's invincibility start? The frame data says it is invincible from the 1st frame but I've started the animation for it and have been hit out of it. Am I reading the frame data wrong?
Xie Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 It is invincible from the first frame. Are you sure you're not accidentally TKing it or doing 236236d?
ToastCrust Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I'm grinding combos in training mode right now, with dummy set to block after first, teching, standing, etc. Using Hazama. 4B never seems to hit him with the second time without him recovering in time to block the second hit. Is this normal? Does this happen to every character or is it character specific?
SolarMisae Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Thats a good question, I've noticed that happen a few times on other characters too while actually fighting. the first hit will connect but the second hit will get blocked. Would like to know why that is. Is it spacing possibly?
toanenadiz Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 It is invincible from the first frame. Are you sure you're not accidentally TKing it or doing 236236d? I rewatched my matches and realized i was TKing it. Makes sense now. Thanks. Overheat Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 It is invincible from the first frame. Are you sure you're not accidentally TKing it or doing 236236d? If it's invincible from the first frame, then it is a true reversal. Are you sure about that Xie? It takes 11 frames before the super flash; however, I've been hit out of it right before the super flash (a brief flash shows, but I get hit out of it and lose 50 Heat).
Nakkiel Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 The ground version is 100% guaranteed to come out. If you're getting hit out then your inputs are sloppy and you're accidentally doing the aerial version by TKing it.
Overheat Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 So the ground version has invincibility from frame 1? I thought I heard somewhere that it wasn't a true reversal, but I guess that person was mistaken. I was under the impression that both versions had invincibility, but closer inspection reveals otherwise.
RinHara5aki Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 ?? I wake up Calamity Sword against meaties all the time.. I've never been hit out... ??
St1ckBuG Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Lambda changes? [Source] - Λ ・5DDの発生鈍化 ・ブレイドの発生鈍化明日やってきます -Slower second sword of 5DD? Or 5DD just slower in general? -Something is slowed... not sure what. Someone who actually knows some moonspeak should do us a favor and translate these...

Spike Chaser and the Wheel...come out slower? My moonspeak isn't good enough to be sure, but i think they don't move as fast across the screen? It's either that or they're slowed in terms of startup. EDIT: I guess also reading it they could be saying that swords in general are slower, again though I can't be sure. Someone else with better moonrunes translate EDIT2: Called up my japanese friend. 214D and 236D have more startup frames.
zreb Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 from zephyr07's post (link): Lambda: 5DD activation slowed blade summonings are slower aforementioned spike chaser/"wheel" bit still sounds vague, but 5dd sounds to be about startup frames.
Antihippy Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Whhhyyyyy. Ah well, hope those aren't the only changes.
St1ckBuG Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Yeah, 'blade' wasn't very specific. Thanks for clearing that up Kaialynn. I'm guessing a slower 5DD will change her combos?
Kaialynn Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Yeah, 'blade' wasn't very specific. Thanks for clearing that up Kaialynn. I'm guessing a slower 5DD will change her combos? Well, depending on where it's changed, it might. Until we see videos or we can get official patch notes i'm not too sure. The changes listed are so vague i can't be sure what they're referring to.
Antihippy Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Eh, still, loketest changes are loketest changes. I'll see how the final product is. But it seems like they don't really feel that she needs a drastic change, so that's cool so far.
Kaialynn Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Quoted from the second post about Valk: "Individual accounts of Lambda have suspicious information. Will test tomorrow. " I'm going to wait for him to play lambda himself then.
