I kind of like having an almost free win against that "frog character" in CS, it reminds of the CT Tager match, almost free.

Big or small, there will be some. Jump cancel for more stuff on block would be nice. I'll be more interested in changes from the 2nd and 3rd loketests.

Oh and keeping juggle launches off of 4D. I like 4D resets. no one ever sees them coming and a plain jump air combo follow up that takes them out of NOC is just meh. more active frames on 6A? ... i can dream right c.c "Change in unteachable time" sounds dangerous though.

If they played with j2c cross over or 3c's untechable time, we're done. Its like playing CT carl with even less options. I wouldn't mind if they prorated j2c,3c, and throw as starters a bit more though, those hits seems to do a healthy 5.5-6k with super which is kinda ridiculous... assuming you can do the full combo that is... which i can't T^T... jB fatal also does too much damage (i've once reached 3.8k with just carl alone lol) so they can prorate that a bit too. Change proration, don't change any moves, life is good... A better 6A would just be a dream.

If Kyle wants one for this loketest, then sure, but Carl's changes as of now are very vague, so there wouldn't be much news to post, and I'm not a huge fan of speculation. I think we'll wait for the time being. Any thoughts, Kyle?

Mascarpone Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 So i made a curious little discovery today... any time you score a FCH j.b and Nirvana is somewhere in front of you that isnt the farthest end of the screen or DIRECTLY in front of you, it will combo into Fermata or Volante. without summoning. the spacing is remarkably forgiving. just as long as she's not so far off the screen that shes behind the wall bounce that is the edge of the screen or, again less than a character space in front of you. if she's too close it still combos but u cant follow up so well. Idk this seems like a good trick for those of us who cannot quite get the timing in off fchj.b summon combos.

I've poured over these threads for the last four days looking for tips, but I can't seem to get it. I always drop it in the same spot, right when 2D is supposed to hit it whiffs. I just don't know if my setups are wrong or I'm not timing the 8D setup correctly, my 2D is late? I don't know. I've tried releasing the 2D quicker, adjusting the timing on 8D, but nothing seems to work. I get it like 1 outta 20 but I can't figure out the reasoning behind it. Setups I use to practice the 2D loop are: NOC: 5B, 6B, 6D, 5C, 3C, J.2C+2D, JC, 2D whiffs NOC: 2A, 2b, 3C, J.2C, Alle~can, 5C, 8D, JB, 8D hits, J.2C+2D, JC, 2D whiffs If any advice can be given, I would appreciate it greatly. I'm loving Carl so far and I feel like I'm so close to getting the loop down, but this is driving me insane.
JG Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Hey.. anyone have tried this: C-o-N, on block Gear Super, RC, Fucco and full charge 6C. Use all the distorcion gauge but if work you have a real UB, maybe after that you can go for some strong combo. Also if work can be good to finnish the opp.

If you're adding activation time when you do 2D (Nirvana isn't already active,) that extra bit of startup will make your 2D whiff. if not, I'm not sure what to say. Before 2D, you should already be holding D. Then it's just j.2C~2]D[ (release 2D) at the same time > j.C. In the 2A combo you listed, I'm not sure if 2D will work after that. It should allow you one rep, based on how that looks, but try this 2A combo instead. 2A > 2B > 3C > summon > IAD j.2C Allecan > j.B > j.C > 8D hits > [j.2C > j.C > 2D hits] x2 > j.2C > j.B > 2D hits > j.2C > allegretto > 8D. @JG: that's legit. Only thing is 100 heat is so expensiveeee. lol. Only way out of that is to jump block the gear for them. (Which can be made very hard for them if you use the right set up.)

Yeah i know.. that why i was mentioning that is expensive, but it seem that could be handy in some situations were the opp dosnt have burst and its a low health... Maybe if you go with tha UB to the volante combo will be usefull.

Either they're going to jump and get hit, Stand and block and put them in block stun so you can continue to keep them sandwiched. Or crouch and block the 8D (depending on the character).

This is enough time to setup- 3]D[+J.C or 2A, 2B, 3C+2]D[ half ass UB. but only cost 50%, this is great of your predicting/yomi against defensive burst or Counter Assaults

If you're opponent has no burst, and it's going to be FTW, I see no problem whatsoever in using this set up.
