Isorropia Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I think he's referring to a vid from a SoCal tournament around 5 months back where MIkeZ astraled this poor hazama in both games of the match they played. Might be on the arcade infinity youtube channel, not sure.
Edalborez Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 ^^ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbVioLGD-gU if that's the one he's referring to.
Sponson Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 He could've been using unlimited, I guess. Or training. :/ Um, but even still, 2 bolts doesn't really do anything. Thats like saying "I have a new combo! GF, RC, GF, RC, GF, 360b!" Even though the triple GF is hilarious and totally worth it. But fohstick, its just spark bolt into astral. Nothing complex.
A.X.I.S. Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 tager troll combo video. I think Mike might get a kick out of 6C>gadget antics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rq_hzdeq_9c
evilben Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 haha, man nice moves! flinger burst loop... love it!
Mike Z Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Hell, that was awesome. 6C->Gadget was pretty neat yep. AWWW they did a j.B->C->B reset, I've been practicing those. :^P Also, my new goal is to get an elbow RC burst combo.
natearistata Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 That was really cool. I lol'd at a bunch of those combos.
Leo7 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 It's actually kind of saddening that so much meter is spent, yet not a lot of damage is added. Love the Gold Burst combos though.
Darlos9D Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 It's actually kind of saddening that so much meter is spent, yet not a lot of damage is added. Love the Gold Burst combos though. I don't think those combos were meant to be efficient...
Leo7 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Wasn't implying that they were suppose to be. I'm just making an observation.
paper planes Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 ragna in the second vid had years to burst
Edalborez Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 You mean the second vid on the first post? From Dec 09? Specify please
Zarithan Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 The Casual Power Of Science is BACK \o/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVdD5SLh6yQ expect more videos soon :D and as always hit me with critics / comments and stuff :D
NumeroGaijin Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 way too obvious 720s in the first round to tell the truth. No competent Ragna or player for that matter is going to fall for that. When you block his ID when you were in the corner he was close enough to 2c him for a FREE FC or you could have punished with a strong CH of your choice....enough a 5d into collider and so forth would have been suffice but instead you went for a 5a spam into no damage basically. You must punish big for big mistakes especially when Raggie does a retard ID with no meter to Rapid or whiffs completely into your arms. Edit: 2nd round Never and I mean never start of the round by voltic charging against any character. You open yourself up to a world full of lows and FCs. Never waste Spark bolt for no reason. Always save it for when you really need it or when they are going to die in a combo. WHy were you backdashing when you were full screen away from Raggie. You can and will be punished for that...just walk. doing an astral out of nowhere like that may have worked for you because the Ragna was foolish enough to do an empty Belial but again against a competent opponent you would have easily been CH out of it because almost nothing beats ID.
Edalborez Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 5A spam should also at least lead into knockdown (5B>3C). Don't throw/AC them out of the corner when possible. Predictable sparks, scare them by holding onto it. You use B+C throw like half of the time on wakeup, just block. Voltic at start of round is pretty much never a good move.
CrownEmpress Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPZi6zBrgAs I'll just leave this here...
Brice Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 a question arise to me : how the hell can you IB astral??? spin stick faster than your life? or were you buffering the first 360 and you were holding back to IB the burst and finished at amazing speed the other 720+D to start the astral? amazing nonetheless... (for me and my scrubby tager)
Sponson Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Learned my lesson about Voltaic Charge the hard way. Critiques would be neat, this vidya is like a week or so old and I've been working to fix my grab-spam-fail. I also know my pressure game is super weak (lol 5c, 5d, sledge) but integrating that is a lot harder than integrating backdashes and 2c into regular play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWptETF6trY Edit: I have some older stuff but they're really dumb and bad and I wonder how I win.
natearistata Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Work on tick throws off of dem jabs instead of going into 5C or whatever else. I have the same problem. Wake up grab also no bueno. Also not sure what those random super jumps were, but probably not a good idea. And that Ragna was inferno dividering like he was in SF4. Bait and punish the hell out of that. Most of them will ID off a gadget finger every damn time.

(for me and my scrubby tager) This. Actually comes in handy for standard 720 when you're not trying to Asstroll.
Heroic_Legacy Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Block on wakeup. Punish moves with 360B. If at all possible, attempt to IB 360A since Ragna has no pressure that is safe. Block Inferno Divider, work on more tech traps. Most scrubs like that guy I keep in the air all day with different tech traps until they rage quit. Can't really give you advice unless you fight someone worth fighting. Sorry Sponson.
mAc Chaos Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Also not sure what those random super jumps were, but probably not a good idea. He was buffering 720, which is why a 720 happened as soon as he landed. :P Yeah, it's hard to really say what you need to improve on here. You did what you needed to against this guy but we wouldn't really see what you need to work on until you fight someone that puts you on the ropes and exposes the flaws in your playing.

Thats fine, I really didn't find myself in a lot of positions to tech-trap (seeing how I dropped that AC in round 1) but I usually throw a ton out. If mAc will play me again maybe I can record some games then :3
DJ Koopa Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Whoo! I got in a streamed broadcast (being watched by over 200 people at the time), and got to play! I even finished the room by Astral Heat in the final match before the room was disbanded! And getting the M.C. Hammer achievement as well! :3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nhD4Dbig6I That one Bang was level 52, with a 200+ PSR, too. Kinda surprised I won there. >_> Also, I do have the fight between AXIS and me where I got the You Broke My Heart! achievement. I'll upload that....at some point for those wanting to watch Tager Mirror.
