Mike Z Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I would like to use this moment to point out that for the most part there is no correlation between online level and actual player skill. (^.^) I picked a random spot in that vid (12:04) and saw 5 dash-in throw techs in a row followed by a random spark bolt, 5C to 4D that whiffs, Rachel neutral techs, you Astral and after the tech he stands there and gets hit by it. Congrats on being streamed...!
DJ Koopa Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Yeah, once I saw the grab spam, I just stood there so I could get the achievement. :P On another point, in the Bang fight, I just kept hearing a crowd cheer every time I got a 720 off. Not to mention, after the second one, some random voice in my head yelling "GOOD SHIT, MIKE!!!" even though my name's John. >_> Probably a result because as soon as I got the second grab off, I looked over to the stream's chat to see TIDAL WAVES of wtfs and lols and all that crap.

g0th1k4 Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 i'm sorry but lol at the lambda who kept poorly teching and not teching gadget finger 720 lol...
KagamineLenQ8 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 yeah i am suprised that he didnt tech any of my 360's and my 720's after that match i went to the leaderboards to see my opponent's rank he is one of the top ten of the leaderboards (XBL version)
natearistata Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 He always techs in the air. Always. Without fail. I've gotten perfects on him in a ton of rounds just off getting the first hit and doing AC resets over and over.
OrionXElite Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 yeah i am suprised that he didnt tech any of my 360's and my 720's after that match i went to the leaderboards to see my opponent's rank he is one of the top ten of the leaderboards (XBL version) He was literally the number 1 ranked player in CT in terms of XP. I've played him a few times, hes ehhh....Something...I guess???
evilben Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 ^this I would like to use this moment to point out that for the most part there is no correlation between online level and actual player skill. (^.^)
iOryan Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 I wanted to see what a video would look like without health gauges—I kinda like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJ7rd2U4O-4&fmt=22 (dont mind my horrid 6B)
Nobus3r1 Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 I wanted to see what a video would look like without health gauges—I kinda like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJ7rd2U4O-4&fmt=22 (dont mind my horrid 6B) I'm sure the few guard primers the Makoto player broke where worth dying for. That said the gauge free video looks neat even though it isn't super informative.
DJ Koopa Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Heh, reminds me of most fighting games title-screen demo fights. ...Why isn't there any for BB? D:
Coopa Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Here guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AibZr2PQw3U&feature=sub I hate this matchup so much. I was trying to IB Ragna's 2b and punish. And I swear I was blocking overheads. Only monitor I'm playing on next time is an asus.
Heroic_Legacy Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Here guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AibZr2PQw3U&feature=sub I hate this matchup so much. I was trying to IB Ragna's 2b and punish. And I swear I was blocking overheads. Only monitor I'm playing on next time is an asus. Help to the rescue If a Ragna is doing the same 22C mixup everytime, just 720A~C and you'll tech instant 720. Should've done it a few times during the match instead of blocking 3C/2C. Needs more IB. 5C anything but 2C is beatable by IB 5B/360A spacing dependant punish.. The instant you see 2D you should already be 360A'ing through that slow ass move and punishing him for using it. 5D IB both hits and if he dashes 360B is free. If he does dead spike, 236A is free. If he does nothing, he has to mash DP to avoid being put into blockstun. 3C on IB you should just throw out AC or 5A depending on whether or not you think they'll use the jump cancel or gatling to 5D. 6B, that's already free if you notice it coming. Otherwise it hurts. If it truly was a laggy screen, much respect for the IBs and especially the throw techs. I can't even tech purple throws online so I can only imagine what it's like to have delay offline. Unplayable. I'd have asked for another set since Technical Tager depends on IB punishment and if you can't do that you can't play. Good showing though Coopa.
Leo7 Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Needs more IB. 5C anything but 2C is beatable by IB 5B/360A spacing dependant punish.. Loses if he cancels it into Gauntlet though. Anyways, you played pretty good there Coopa. Going to throw out some advice. - I'm sure you know this already, but you let SJ do way too many 2Bs. I notice that you either missed the IB and got hit (due to lag probably, which is understandable), or you did IB it and then proceeded to press 5C or 2C, which is good if he's going to cancel the 2B into Gauntlet Hades, but otherwise you should just do IB > Normal Grab/360B (depending on the range). - You blocked a lot of Gauntlet Hades. If you know the Gauntlet Hades is coming (in fact there was a point where you switched guard quite early, as if you're predicting the overhead), try jumping and instant blocking the first hit in the air and air grabbing him before the 2nd part since SJ seems to like to do a delayed follow-up followed by a RC into more pressure. - Stuff 6B instead of blocking it if you can (5A works fine). - If you have meter, and you IB Ragna's 5C, you should just do a 720. Only thing you have to worry about is if he cancels his 5C into a 6D or Gauntlet Hades. - Try to recognize jump cancel patterns and punish jumps more often. Easier said than done though, I realize. - After the Fatal Counter you did a MTW after doing your standard sledge FC combo. You would have did more damage had you just done 2C > Collider > 6B > MTW (5k). - People usually burst after Spark or after a Collider, and I can see you're quite aware of those burst punishes. One other place that people like to burst is after you hit them with a meaty 2B > 2C like SJ did at 4:32. Now you didn't have meter at the time, but consider trying to do meaty 2B > 2C > Magnatech Wheel on oki. It's a combo that a few Japanese Tagers have been doing. It does 3.5k and it can potentially make the opponent waste a burst. You could also just do 2B > 2C > XYH as a possible burst bait, though it's a bit risky. Basically, your defense is good, but you need to learn when to press buttons. If you want to beat Ragna easier, you have to do so by trying to deny him his mix-up.
Heroic_Legacy Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Of course if you'd rather play on defense alone, like I do, then I suggest you learn every nasty bit of frame data and get your punishments down 100% robotic.
A.X.I.S. Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 me troy and toasty at casuals. yes I talked alot. also did the match commentary when I didn't play. kill yourself. http://www.youtube.com/user/Sukairefurai#p/u

A.X.I.S. Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 in those vid's there was ALOT of trolling and its a couple things I want to address before you guys call me on it: don't spam A sledge...its easy to IB and you will get hurt for it. don't jump around like a monkey...you can and will be AA'd. take these casuals as not serious or your head will hurt at the amount of trolling that happened here.
Skye Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Real Talk: Michigan for free-est players ever...In America. Top tier at trolling though. Heroic for easiest to troll player, worldwide. They're called "casuals" for a reason, the ones who were playing seriously were the ones who never won.
