Real question: 22D L2 counterable by Hak drive/distortion/astral?

Side question: I won Magfest (http://magfest.org/) with Tsubaki, best troll job ever?

22D has no invincibility frames, so it will get beaten out. The only thing it has at lvl 2 is unblockable properties, even when barrier guarded.

Good job on winning a tournament at an anime convention! It's better than nothing!

It's suppose to be a gaming con, but details aside, there were so many Tagers spinning it to win it that all I'd do is 5B jc and watch the hand reach out for greatness. Occasionally they'd AC instead and then 5D because they were so surprised they hit me, rofl. It's a really bad situation when a two week old Tsubaki can win something like that.

Another real question, is there any other benefit to doing 623B/C over 623A? Other than both leave you grounded longer so you can get grabbed, and for just hitting higher into the air, and the C version takes a primer.

No reason to use DPs besides 623a/d unless during a combo where you can adjust your height in the air after j.214c depending on which strength dp you do. I don't think b/c even have invul.

I think 623b has a little bit of invul iirc.

EDIT: Frame data says 11f-18f that it's invincible. :psyduck:

It's online and they just got beat by the arguably worst character in the game who is even worse online than irl, it's just salt. Break out the fries.

Tsubaki's probably only good online because people eat unblockables all day. That shit's unreactable on the interwebs you know =P

Don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I would love some advice in regards to Tsubaki's score attack mode.

I just cannot get past Hazama, which... I guess shouldn't be surprising considering he has at least every single advantage in that match-up to begin with. How am I supposed to approach him? I thought that as long as I'm not in the air I'll be safe, but even if I try to attack him from the ground he just counters, kicks me into the air, and cue hungry coils and insta-DD. It makes the unlim haku fight seem like the most fair battle in comparison.

Are there any strategies any of you have used against SAzama, especially in regards to just getting in to attack? I know that if I just got past him, the rest will probably not be as bad but just beating him in hell arcade took me ages the last time I tried.

Well......

Score attack AI is programmed to do an attack whenever the player does an attack. When Tsubaki does an attack, the cpu does an attack accordingly. This is why Jin does DPs, Hakumen spams stuff, Hazama spams stuff, and Tager spams 360s. So that being said, you can never get proper reads (not like you can read the AI anyways, it's like a "smart" mashing online scrub). The way you beat seemingly cheap computers is by abusing a certain flaw in the AI..

So I guess my answer is, somehow get him to the corner, and start mashing A attacks so it counterhits every time he gets up...and keep doing that for the entire round.

Now after all that clutter, I cannot believe you would even consider beating score attack with a character that has barely any options to beat "smart" mashing.

If I remember correctly how I beat Unlimited Hazama in Arcade mode, he has no clue how to deal with 3C attacks. Basically, if you're in range for a 3C, you hit it, he does something that's supposed to beat it, but doesn't, gets hit, and you do a combo. Repeat.

Not that I've been able to test this in Score Attack, since I haven't got past Unlimited Hakumen yet. -_-

I've been having an embarrassing amount of trouble with Tsubaki's challenges.

Sticking point: first combo in challenge 3, trying to follow up 214A with 22A (last bit of the combo). Any advice regarding timing? At best, I execute 22A and see Bang tech out of the way, a few frames before it would otherwise land.

Input 22A while the animation for 214A is occurring, and hold A after that and release it when you need to make it hit.

If it makes you feel better, I had a devil of a time getting the hang of this too, and sometimes I still screw up and hit the button too early. -_-

But yeah, the two options are:

A) The one DT mentioned, which works pretty well, but does rely on some visual cues. (i.e. being able to see and recognize the 214A animation

B) Do the whole 236A->214A->22A sequence as more or less contiguous inputs, remembering to hold the button for 22A. This is probably harder to learn but easier to replicate.

As always, with just about any combo, if the move isn't coming out, you're doing it too early, if the move comes out but doesn't combo, you're doing it too late.

I have a question all you lovely people.

Is there some trick to the timing for 6C > 6CC > sjc > j.C? I'm doing her challenge 4 and at first the problem was that I simply couldn't do the sjc. Now I can do that consistently well along with the j.C but Bang is able to tech out of it RIGHT as it's supposed to hit. My timing must be off by like a fraction of a second or something and it even looks like how the demonstration shows it except it doesn't connect. :<

Thank you, that did it!

Yeah, helped me a ton too. Still need more practice though. x.x

One of the best ways to practice is to have some sort of motivation to get better. If you have some sort of community to get better with, it will further your incentive to become a stronger player overall. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't really have that haha.

Online is pretty bad to get better with, but some people have absolutely no choice :/

Yea I wish I had a local community to get better with that was close by and online is all I have. Whenever I practice I do it to be better so I don't look like a fool when I go against others and for personal pride tbh lol. Unfortunately I don't have make time to practice because of school so I can't practice as much as I would like.

Sadly, I just don't have the patience to try the same combo over and over for 30 minutes at a stretch. I get impatient and mashy and don't learn anything. =/

I've spent ridiclous amounts of time on a combo before >_>

When I first got melty, I spent like 3 hours just learning bnb <_<

I've gotten considerably better at learning combos since then (melty was the first thing I took seriously enough to leanr combos), thank god

Yea, I don't mind doing the same combo for a long time and if I start to get frustrated I switch sides or experiment on how the game reads my pad/stick. I remember when I had to learn Millia's combos and was like "What's all this mean? :v:" and took a whole day just learning the notation for each move and trying to execute her bnbs one slow step at a time.

I would like to think it helped out in the long-run.

Pretty much this.

I was a netplay warrior all throughout CT, and while I may have been a semi-decent netplay Noel, I was still a netplay Noel. Starting at CS was when I got into my local community and my abilities have skyrocketed. Even though I still lose because of character weakness.

So we shall all rejoice together my Tsubaki playing friends, may the NOL reign supreme in CS2.

Does "noob quiters" exist on PSN?

Definition of "noob quiter": they quit if I win before the match ends so no PSR/WIN counts will be added

(Sometimes they quit before match starts (in the ranked match menu)

Coz in XBL tons of them, here's some I met:

Fatal Karisma

Primula IV

Minato | Sama

I've met one, on XBL, I think. I forget the name, but regrettably I've run across him a couple of times. Quit on me both times.

I don't mind if people quit before the match starts. Maybe they see my awesome Tsubaki PSR (Haha) and just don't want to lose, or whatever, I don't mind. Certainly there've been a few times when I get matched against a 250 PSR Hazama or something for the 4th time in a row and I find myself thinking "I don't -really- want to play this match again". I gather they're adding some sort of 'legit' quit option to the Ranked Match screen with the 1.03 patch.
