Irrsinn Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Just for having to rely on her stick to attack makes her harder to use, she isn't a "just fuck shit up" character like Bang, its like asking why Carl is harder to use than Tager or something. Her combos are harder to execute, doesn't have the good defense Bang has, etc. I'm not saying she's the hardest thing since diamond or something, but she's harder to use than Bang. At least the consensus likes to think so.

At least the consensus likes to think so. actually her staff is a "fire-and-forget" attack to an extent you just do one attack while it's planted then do another after it lands.... not at all that complicated, though I can't say if it's harder to play than Bang...

Now youre just being asinine. 5k + 50 meter + Solid Oki off random hits =/= 12k setup that requires curse. Its much more difficult to get curse as opposed to landing a 2C
Spirit Juice Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Litchi's 5A and 2A are mediocre at best. Just because she CAN doesn't mean she will be starting a combo off of them in most situations. Kind of a silly argument, IMO.

FAR FAR FARRRR too much hate on bang when litchi is just as stupid if not potentially worse than bang. for those that have watched matches and cannot tell easily that litchi is just as dumb are being ignorant on purpose. just because bang is "easy" doesnt mean anything. it still requires skill to actually use the char or ANY char to that degree properly. easy combos dont mean easy wins and difficult for sure doesnt mean you cant win either. eddie has been top in GG from jump street and he's difficult to use and yet he retained his top spots over the course of the game's life. (using GG as an example since this is a GG forum) so again i dont see what the problem is. "litchi is difficult/hard to use!" and? so whats you're point? when one learns to play her right then it becomes easy wouldnt it? if you're simply going to sit around and bitch about bang i'd say you have about 3 options. play the game and learn how to fight'em, sit there and bitch, or just say screw it all and quit. option2 wont get you far so you may need to keep a box of kleenex near and learn how to play against him. option3 would be simply sad because you decided to quit because you cant beat bang. granted its your world, and if you the player want to quit then do so. also if you want to bitch i guess go for that if it makes your heart shine. however, know that bang isnt going anywhere and he'll still remain where hes at until a patch or whatever comes along.

Hell, her lowest damage (and shortest) combo is off of a Tsubame, and even then, she can still mash out 2k.

It would be equally stupid to sit around and play a game where you're so frustrated by the inherent disadvantage you have that you feel the need to bring it up every time you play. Here's how it works. Pick a character, top tier or not. Decide your level of competitivity, and this is a SEPARATE step because it has absolutely nothing to do with the first one. Do well, or don't; then check if you set your sights correctly. HERE'S THE END ALL BEAT ALL CONCLUSION, I'm only going to say this once (Listen upppppp, real talk). If you care about winning, to the point that you literally get mad when you lose, pick a top tier, don't be stupid. If you get angry when you lose, don't intentionally make it happen more you idiot. If you can take a loss like a man, pick whatever character you want, and understand your inherent disadvantages if not top tier. YES, top tier characters are better. If you want to win tournaments, you might want to pick them. Otherwise, really question why you're sitting there wasting your time complaining about them. Are they going to get balanced out, eventually? Yeah, try the sequel, or maybe even console version. Will it be perfect? No, don't expect it. I can't believe people still spend days at a time just complaining about characters. Litchi is crazy, Bang is crazy, etc is crazy, everyone has already seen it. HERES THE FUNNY THING, if anyone learned how to play this game as well as japan, regardless of character, they would be winning every tournament. So take some responsibility. I, a mediocre player, have already won 3 tournaments. I know several other people who use top tier characters who have also won tournaments. IT HAPPENS, A LOT. Get used to it. It has happened in every fighter where tiers existed. Why do you still complain? If it's that depressing quit.

The facts are ignored, and everyone just argues over who is a more powerful character, using no legitimate data or important information.

If you want to discuss Bang vs Litchi, Litchi is better. Execution difficulty is a human factor. It doesn't make a character worse just because one character's combo is harder to do than the other. Who cares about which one is easier to use? They're both easy. Ragna is the only one that you need to be an expert at the game to play.

This is all I ever fucking see when people talk about the characters in this game. This is all I see on the stream when BP is kind enough to take the time to set it up so she can stream us playing. Incessant whining, constant fucking complaining. Seriously, it's not that bad. None of the top 3 are THAT overpowered. Yes, they need/should be toned down, but it's not the end of the world and I and no one else wants to see the people whining saying the same goddamn thing every time they have the chance. It's just poor sportsmanship at this point, people need to get over it. Especially when I look in the stream chat and see "That's a nice Lambda" when five minutes earlier they were bitching about how stupid Litchi is when it was the same player. GET OVER IT OR QUIT PLAYING.
