That being said, I'm probably going to switch mains from Litchi, despite her moving to top tier. It just won't be as satisfying beating people online. I'm probably going to switch to Noel or Tsubaki (Noel if Tsubaki's 70 hit broken combo exists, Tsubaki if it turns out to not exist).She probably needs full charge gauge or something equally situational to do it so it shouldn't affect your decision. But this thread is about discussing match-ups...

It's based off of the JBBS tier list/match up chart posted in late January. If there's anything more recent it probably isn't much different. What do you find weird about the chart?

What do you find weird about the chart? Nothing really seems too off just I thought I heard litchi was above bang now, and im a little surprised at how low lambda/arakune are still. Tsubaki being as high as she is a little weird too I gotta watch some more vids to see what the jp Tsubaki players have figured out. So if that is based of the JBBS tier list Ill go by it, I'm sure they know alot better than some random American. It just seemed like this tier list was based off of the opinions of people in the thread I guess I was wrong.

EDIT: Well, Ragna has advantage. I shouldn't necessarily say "beats"

She'll probably still be my tournament character as well. It's just it started getting boring enough online playing as Litchi in CT, and with her as top tier, people will probably start doing what I've had happen to me when I've tried playing Nu, and just quit as soon as the match starts. I think I just really want to branch out and be able to play a few characters though. I bought CT on black friday, so I figured I was already behind, so I focused on just Litchi, and really can't play anyone else to save my life.

qwerty Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 i honestly don't think it's changed all that much from ct. the way i saw the matchup in ct was that neutral situations naturally segued to ragna trying to get in and hakumen trying to keep him out. ragna had 5B, 5C, j.C and his low pokes; hakumen had 6A, 5B, hotaru and his counters. once ragna got in though, it was still a pretty even guessing game because of hotaru, ib into counter and of course 7 A+B+C. in cs, replace hakumen's 6A and 5B with j.C and 4C; there's the matchup.

Arakune should move up slightly, He still has the crappiest normals in the game for the most part, but having 7~11(!)k+ loops off of random crossup hit durning curse makes up for it. I think Arakune with all being that being said is probibly gonna scrape the Bottom of B-tier for the remainder of CS due to having crappy normals. Lambda I think should stay mid-high B tier. Lam has good normals and mindgames (and breaks lots of primers)
XvKissBlade Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Probably a lot to ask, if so, pardon in advance but is there anyone who can possibly translate the reasoning the Japanese gave behind their rankings or some imbalanced/balanced match ups that seems particularly perplexing for us in the states? As a Rachel main, obviously I'd be interested in hearing mostly about Rachel but just some insight from the community overseas will be quite interesting. Thanks in advance.
