SolxBaiken Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 (edited) You're kind of late on many fronts my friend... Anyways, more likely than not, Mages pulled the plug on 7Sixity's plans [which they weren't releasing, vanilla, they were actually releasing the enhanced ver] because the game was COMPLETED [in fact some reviewers actually have copies of the game] it just, for reasons still unexplained never got put into stores. This might've been due to Mages actually getting a hold of the game's license as it was owned by the developer (can't recall the name atm, but Mages/5pb were producers) so maybe Mages was like "F U 'Merica!" EDIT: Oh well, hmm, Siliconera has an interview that sheds "some" light on the matter, literally as I just finished typing Edited July 9, 2013 by SolxBaiken
Powerstar7 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I never thought I would want to buy Phantom Breaker. Looks like I've lost another bet
Devdan Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 That seemed like a long-winded way of saying we aren't getting the Ketsui port. Oi, I don't want that game enough to spend import prices on it. Especially not when I could've picked up the Xbox version for like $20 used (but not played it, 'cause it's region locked). Oh, and stuff about Phantom Breaker. I played it once at an arcade and it seemed really clunky, but I also didn't really understand the mechanics, so whatever.
Elochai Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 (edited) I dont really trust 7Sixty when it comes to localizing after the whole waiting forever for the vanilla version, only to have it quietly canceled. If I were you, i'd just import it. The Regular (Not limited edition) version is only $60 USD + Shipping. Shipping can be free/cheap if you don't mind waiting about a month (which is still less time than waiting for the US version). Sure, I wouldn't mind importing if I had a PS3. This is not an option for me unless the 360 version isn't region locked (which it probably is). Edit: I hope that interview confirms some sort of localization with SC. Edited July 10, 2013 by Elochai
SolxBaiken Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 (edited) New site for Extra FINALLY opens... Sadly not a whole lot to see, but they do show that the PS3 and 360 cover arts will be different .o. aside from that just some short bios, and empty blog, and some event announcements. EDIT: YOOOOO, first to tweet, I'm so hipster, すごい!! Edited July 25, 2013 by SolxBaiken
Chaoschao222 Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 That's from a really long time ago, right? Or did they just have something really similar like late June or something? e; upload Jul 8, yup, that'd do it
SolxBaiken Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 If Mages doesn't care for attention to detail, than neither shall I! Yeah thought it looked familiar but was too lazy to check, but it was one yesterday's update~
KagamineLenQ8 Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 with PB extra coming this Wednesday, when i get my copy of the game i am going to main cocoa and kurisu. i am so excited to play this game
DogsofWar Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Anyone who ordered from amiami, has anyone's status changed from preorder yet? Im just curious as to how much my shipping will be.
SolxBaiken Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Nope, status hasn't changed. Also I'm having reservations with this game, like I don't mind buying random fighters, but since this is an import it comes at a higher cost, and BB is next month...wonder if I should just hold off on this for the time being... Unless a good amount of people here are gonna import ; ~;
Celerity Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Nope, status hasn't changed. Also I'm having reservations with this game, like I don't mind buying random fighters, but since this is an import it comes at a higher cost, and BB is next month...wonder if I should just hold off on this for the time being... Unless a good amount of people here are gonna import ; ~; I preordered it, but I agree with you there is a lot of stuff coming out lately. It'll be worth it for me as long as I can get games every once in awhile, since I really like the character design and it seems simple enough to pick up. Plus, we probably won't be getting an NA port.
SolxBaiken Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Yeah the simplicity is kind of the reason I want to keep my pre-order, since I have friends that like Smash so I'm hoping that the similar control scheme (with Specials and Supers being single directional inputs plus 1 or 2 buttons) will make them more enthused to play lol. I'm glad that the NA ver never came out because I really didn't want to buy/constantly borrow a 360 to play it, but I wish they would confirm/deny international plans (/.\) Also in case nobody heard, the sequel to Battlegrounds is coming to PS4 lol
Ragnarok_F4 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Nope. My status hasn't changed either. DogsofWar what type of shipping are you using? With EMS (the most expensive one) I don't think it will be more than 2000 yens (around 20 bucks). If your using the others it could be lower than 10 bucks.
Celerity Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 EMS shipping is $12 for me. I ordered from a different store, but that's the same quote the JP Post site gives me.
Elochai Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 PB:EX isn't (or hasn't, rather) getting an arcade release, right? After that one A-Cho video of PB:AC, I kinda wanna see more.
SolxBaiken Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 As far as we know, there are no plans for an arcade port of Extra, but that's not to say it won't happen [the very fact that Another Code exists still baffles me lol]. Safe bet that for now they just want to focus on the console ver before taking it all to the arcade. Speaking of, did anyone ever find out who the mystery character in AC was? It's none of the new characters because NO ONE in the cast has a traditional Japanese sword . . . And then there are the supposed tease of a possible "EX" ver of Mikoto and M . . . F it, YOLO UPPERCUT! I'll stick to my guns and keep my pre-order :3
Keo-bas Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 arent those Ex "White mikoto" and "L"? they have their respective colors on the silhouette outlines.
SolxBaiken Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Heads up guys, there's going to be a title patch for the game, interesting that they're dropping at different dates... The 360 patch will be available same day as release (9/19) while the PS3 ver hits on Thursday (9/26). For the most part it seems like a fairly brush up patch (updates title screen to let you know you're running ver 1.01, fixes an apparent issue concerning Emergency Mode input, fixes a bug concerning some of Waka's Specials, apparently Situation Battle has some weird battle bug, an error in display of Life gauge, and various other tweaks not listed) the only real difference between the 2 patches for systems seems to be the PS3 ver will add Data Install so that you can increase performance by installing game data to your harddrive (such a rudimentary function it seems weird it wasn't in by default) Also the A-Cho vids are pretty scrubby compared to G-Stage [Part 1|Part 2] arent those Ex "White mikoto" and "L"? they have their respective colors on the silhouette outlines. Were they in the original game? I know very little about PB pre-Extra
Chaoschao222 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Were they in the original game? I know very little about PB pre-Extra White Mikoto and L weren't in the original game, but they are in BattleGrounds.
SolxBaiken Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Ahh, sadly another game that I didn't get to experience, but everything's changing now with PS3 PBX and PS4 Battle Grounds 2 \o/ Hmm, what made them different from their default ver in Battle Grounds?
Chaoschao222 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 They were effectively EX characters. I didn't spend too much time with W. Mikoto, but L used the stronger versions of M's special attacks by default. Overall they had more limited options than their normal counterparts (which is why I didn't spend a lot of time with them), but had stronger moves, and more importantly, utilized Overdrive much better. The effects of Quick Overdrive would last longer and you'd move much quicker than normal Quick. I imagine the Extra iterations will be largely similar to the BG versions since all the other characters are, so L would get the more explosive version of Meteor Blast, the harder hitting Junk Rolling, etc.
SolxBaiken Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Got my AmiAmi payment finalization like an hour ago~ was 1680yen for EMS, 9440yen in total. Now just to wait = 3=
Keo-bas Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 White Mikoto and L weren't in the original game, but they are in BattleGrounds. somewhat right . However White Mikoto did appear in Phantom breaker in story mode as her own character (can't say the same for L ). But gamegameplay wise you only had white mikot and L as Pallets for hardstyle in phantom breaker.. I think L made her debut in Battle grounds as an ally while white mikoto was a boss and both were unlockable characters. In a sense they were just Ex in battle ground that had propertys to mimic their Hard style gameplay in Vanilla PB, since in battle ground over all gameplay is heavly influence on quick style.
