disaster tourism Netherlands you could go to for the same reason, just a different kind. You could also go there for the drugs, or to play GG vs me and a few others.

yea i dont think ill be going to russia... or ukraine for that matter...

so what are the reasons I should go to Thailand?

If u like sunny weather, friendly folks, good food (Thai cuisine is good AND "sharp" aka #!"§)(%& Hot!:kitty:

Just a small advise. Stay away from the "known" places like Pattaya beach etc.. Unless you like lots of hookers, like to sightsee Little Russia & Germany alike (includes lots of white people that look very roasted & w/ big beer bellys). Better go into the jungle up North. Chiangmei, etc. Visit mountains, crocodile fram, etc.

Otherwise, Id recommend S Korea if youre deciding to do a little gaming too.

PS. Why not visit Singapore and Malaysia together instead? You´d get GG play, shopping and beach, sightseing all in 1 deal. And English communication is excellent down there. Was there for a few years. It tops all other countrys in SE Asia cept Philippines.

I went to China (Shanghai, Hangzhou and Huangshan) last summer, it's a pretty awesome place and everything is dirt cheap (except in Shanghai's biggest shopping district, where prices are only just below western countries).

For example:

Nice dinner/lunch: $7

Gourmet dinner: $40 (Though you can spend $5000 if you really want)

Bus ticket: 30c

Taxi: $1 - $3 for regular distances

High-speed train (24h trip): $70

Apart from that, China has some really wonderful places to visit. From Tibet in the west to Hong Kong in the South and Shanghai in the east and everything in between.

I don't need to mention the food do I? Nobody does Chinese food better than the chinese

And then of course there are the girls :kitty:

Hong Kong might be preferred though if you don't know Chinese

That's _exactly_ what I was going to write.

To fight Bison like Guile.

Come on over to Singapore!

Since the recent blog post mentions about FAB teaming with Osaka B and Nakamura for SBO, N.O has also mentioned that he'll be teaming with Dogura and is still looking for a 3rd teammate.

Mike, You're going everywhere!!! I wish could help influence your decision but I haven't been anywhere out of the Continental US. Blog Notes, So Mikado is closing down?! That's dissapointing. So I guess it's true about some arcades shutting down in Japan. "fucking alone". lol.

Mate, I hate to discourage you, but Chernobyl is in Ukraine.

Yes, it's more like a "while you are kind-of in the area" deal.

Thai food is good and spicy though so you can't go wrong there.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I guess at this point it seems like a toss up between Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia/Singapore, and Hong Kong. Europe would be awsome but airfare is double the cost and I dont want to spend too much... so Asia only... Basically I will be there for a good 9 days or so... so I would like something that has a good balance of the following. Good bars good sight seeing a bit of gaming (preferably some sort of arcade that has somewhat of a GG scene, doesnt need to be huge since its not the focus of this trip) good deals and low cost for lodging food and transportation. tasty food (which all of those places have) a place where they can speak an ok ammount of English since I dont know any languages besides English and Japanese a place where they wont treat me like crap (or pick a fight) for being a white american im pretty sure none of those countrys have legal drugs and I know some of them have rather harsh censequences for getting caught (doesnt singapore execute you for pot?) in any case i wont even mess with that stuff anyway so... given those conditions which one is best? They all sound good..

To be honest, Singapore has a mix of everything, but IMO nothing is too exceptional here, other than the fact that you will have no language barrier and won't be ill-treated. For more opinion you can try PMing Tobolo (Darryl on Dustloop) and ask him about it, since he had been over here quite recently.

As for Malaysia, no comment from me. :keke:

>> Mike hmm, I would suggest you go either Shanghai(China) or HongKong both place are famous for views, food and also night life and Shanghai is a.k.a best GG(Arcade) spot in the entire China ofcouse, HK is not bad either Trip cost to Shanghai is definitely much cheaper than to Hk, but unfortunately ppl rarely understand English/Japanese, but i ve got tons of GG friends who could take care of you, so if u decide to go Shanghai, just PM me or mail me trip to HK is way expensive than Shanghai but most ppl there understand English I can also contact Cyber and those dudes we've met last SBO to help u out

ok ive narrowed it down a bit between the following South Korea pros+ low cost in general while in the country lots of beautiful places to see there is a guilty gear scene good food cons- weather may still be cold kind of similar to Japan in many ways so it may not seem as "new" (?) Hong Kong pros+ warmer weather than Japan has a Guilty Gear scene and I know a couple of the players many people speak english nice sight seeing good food cons- everything is pretty expensive in general, a long trip might cost me too much Thailand pros+ very inexpensive in general people can speak english nice sightseeing good food warm weather cons- no guilty gear scene... I think ill have an urge to play over 9 days... Kansai region of Japan (Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Nara) pros+ ive wanted to go to kansai for a long time + guilty gear comp is top notch and there are tons of famous arcades and top players + would be the least expensive to travel to and I can sleep in manga kisa a lot of the time to reduce lodging cost + one of my best friend's exes lives there and could probly show me around and maybe let me crash at her place on the couch or something sometimes + Chip from current is from osaka and can tell me all the good places to go + Kyoto is full of beatiful historic sightseeing areas + some amazing food (best okonomiyaki in Japan) cons - If I go to Kansai I give up the chance to travel to another country since during golden week, airfare is way too expensve... the opportunity cost is higher than the other places so what should I do?

If you ever decide to go to Seoul, S. Korea... Make sure that you go to Isu Theme Park Gameland, which is next to Isu subway station. This is where the best GG and MB players in Korea play, and you'll be amazed to see how much one game costs (it's really cheap). And don't worry about transportation in Seoul since you can go pretty much anywhere by subway (it's just like in Tokyo).

go on your journey to Kansai and meet the God of Faust.!.!.!.!.!.! R.F Plays in that area right??? i wanna read about the America's best Faust vs Japan's best Faust. but seriously though, Kansai looks like it has the most Pro's for sure.... might as well explore japan as a whole...

save Kansai for golden week. thailand sounds like it'd be a really different experience; essentially i think it boils down to "urban jungle vs natural jungle" heh.

Go to Thailand, and see if you can find an inexpensive resort to stay at. Then you can spend those nine days eating good food, getting massages and watching girls on the beach (unless you go to a non-coast escape or something.)

I was a little shocked to hear that in the blog Isa beat SHONEN!! although in my mind shonen is just a good a player as ogawa in terms of overall beastlyness and never losing. guess I was wrong.
