DaiAndOh Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 I just mash 2D with Bang and end up winning I can't be responsible to what happens to you for saying this. Just so you know.
CakeWasBannedd Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I can't be responsible to what happens to you for saying this. Just so you know. Oh sorry I mean I mash 2D with Bang and end up winning while playing online.
Mr. Kimura Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I know I missed the nerf talk, I read some of it, but I'm so sad, or scared, or both really. Don't know what to think other than things can change and maybe they'll find the right balance.
BangisMyHomeboy Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 If they go through with 623B no longer wall bouncing there goes literally 90% of my combos and gameplan as I am terrible with FRKZ. Fuck.
Mr. Kimura Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 This basically, I couldn't do anything in CT cause I was bad at catching the wallbounce, and in CS I live for it.
zeth07 Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Triple post? When I think about the no wall bounce 623B thing, doesn't Unlimited Bang have a Fire Punch that doesn't cause wall bounce? Couldn't they somehow make it just do a longer "hitstun" and still allow us to combo after it? So instead of having to d.6C/d.2B we would just be able to do another 6C/2B anyway. Although honestly, i'd prefer the wall bounce because no wall bounce would just be weird looking. EDIT: Although I can think of the other combos that would still get messed up by the no wall bounce, which would suck. Hopefully they don't leave it that way.
Mr. Kimura Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Triple post fixed. Such is the wonders of 3G coverage via phone. I never played Unlimited Bang but once, I don't recall, but if we can still do stuff afterward I wouldn't mind. I guess I shouldn't worry but I'm just a bit late on the news.
BangisMyHomeboy Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 No wall bounce depresses me to no end.
Reioumu Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 eh, I think no wallbounce isn't THAT bad.
Lord Cruxis Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 eh, I think no wallbounce isn't THAT bad. This, I'm not worried at all.
Mr. Kimura Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Well at least we can wish a fellow Bang player his birthday. Happy birthday to me.
ShoMeYaMoves Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 i'm on the valkenhayn train lol I was on that train soooo long ago. I'm practically the conductor. Hes a very solid bang tho a bit of a dick but whatever i got used to him. At least he can back it up. That video contained really mediocre Bang play. Also, I don't have net for a week and check it again and the thread has suddenly doubled in size. Bang social thread has gdlk mixup.
ThePretender Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 That's because the Bang community is top-tier. On that note, I have no idea what to think on these changes. The no wallbounce annoys me because I had just finally started to use it a bit more properly (only to drop it right afterwards). But being that I am quite the scrubby Bang (as in a 2D-ing scrub, but I'm trying to fix that), I doubt I'll fully see the full extent of these new changes. As such, I'll leave it to you guys to tell me what to think.
The_Grither_ Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 i wouldnt be suprised if they did infact take out the wall bounce...just like when they nerfed rachel for cs im sure most rachels mains thought....nah they will fix it in the next test. and here we are
Dacidbro Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Bang's current nerfs are a pale shadow to Rachel's, if this is really all of them. But I doubt this is the end. I'm betting 5B won't just be slower, but a worse hit box. Also, 5A's hitbox may be decreased. 2C techable is a big problem for crouching hit-confirm (how do you even do it now???), no wall bounce is a problem for slick abare pick ups. FRKZ loops is a problem for not instantly winning for hitting 4 seals.
mAc Chaos Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 The way I see it, you guys did fine in CT and he's going to come out ahead of his CT incarnation so everything will be fine regardless.
huey253 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 loketest bang is probably really close to CT bang with a USEABLE 5A but probably overall slightly worse. litchi and ragna are MUCH WORSE than their CT counterpicks and probably even CT bang. so we shouldn't be bitchin...yet also i love how we don't have a CS2 changes thread :3 because we know bang will always be top tier
mAc Chaos Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Well, even if he WAS CT Bang, he wouldn't be as bad as CT Bang relative to the rest of the cast because there wouldn't be a CT Nu, Arakune, etc. Same goes for everyone else's changes.
huey253 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 i don't mind CT bang. i wish they would change hakumen and litchi to CT form as well. those characters were perfectly balanced, the rest of the cast was like derp derp derp broken.
zeth07 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Just want to say GGs to Reioumu and Raiza, I wish I could play the game more so that I could be a little more competitive against you guys. Top 6 were 3 Bangs and 3 Litchis..... Thanks again for coming out and playing in the tournament.
Ben Reed Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 As long as Bang can make up for lack of damage with reliable momentum and still-disgusting nail pressure, I think I can deal. I'll just treat him like SF4 Bison (God, I would KILL for a charge character in BB, to the point where I'd even consider *shudder* Platinum if I saw she had a movelist like [2]8C, [4]6A, etc.) -- tiny bits of damage, but when he gets in, he tends to stay in and bullshit people with ludicrous normals and showers of nails. Not gonna lie, though, I'm gonna miss top-tier firepunch Bang something fierce. His and Tager's were the only BnBs I could finish with regularity...nice, ground-centric, jump-cancel-minimal combos with a lot of leisurely hit-confirms and ludicrous momentum attached. Hopefully Wolfman Jack will prove similarly cheesy without requiring TOO much more homework on my part. I guess the REAL answer is to play more Guilty Gear so that this game becomes artificially easier. It should say a lot about my preference for game pace and execution requirements that my favorite game is CvS2.
ShoMeYaMoves Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 i don't mind CT bang. I actually still prefer CT Bang. His advanced bnbs were technical enough that you felt like a badass when you nailed cha specifics and you really had to play smart to win. After not playing any CT for awhile and coming back to it for that last UK BBCT major, I found like a ton more random cha specifics and bnb stuff, enough to convince me again that CT Bang was a much deeper character than alot of people gave him credit for. It's almost a pity CS came a year later since he was only improving with time. I guess the REAL answer is to play more Guilty Gear so that this game becomes artificially easier. This x 10000. Learning to play anyone properly in GG with FRCs and wacky SJCs and w/e then coming back to BB is like the difference between cooking a delicious steak dinner for 4 and toasting a pop tart. Except for Potemkin. lol.

huey253 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 hey, Spark totally claims that Roboky is much easier than hakumen. and i would also so that taokaka is much harder than chipp. guilty gear in general is harder, but not everything is.

Tao is not harder than Chipp I'd high levels I'm pretty sure. Chipp's oki game has so much possibility and technicality. j.1k cancels ug. And of course the magical nature of FRCs. Combo wise, Tao is harder from what I've seen, mostly due to having more inputs. And I doubt Robo is easier than Hakumen. I suck at links and was doing Haku's combos (probably because they're not SFIV type :P), his zoning was pretty natural and intuitive for me, and his pressure is really simple. I think with patience and meter management, Hakumen may not even be in the later half of characters when it comes to difficulty. Robo isn't very hard either I'll admit....outside of FRCs that is. Throw those in, and that pushes him over the edge of Hakumen imo. 5hs frc I have trouble in a match or even combos, so fast.
