How is AC going to read the inputs though. Setting up Xpadder is one thing. Making AC read it is another. You have to input the directions/buttons in like you would a programming language.

"button_10=Start

axis_x_negative=Up

axis_x_positive=Down

axis_y_negative=Left

axis_y_positive=Right

button_3=Button_1

button_1=Button_2

button_2=Button_3

button_4=Button_4

button_7=Button_5

button_6=Button_6

button_9=Coin"

Button 6 is basically a button that doesnt exist; according to the directions I got from the website I used to find the button commands. So how do you make AC recognize your RC button? "Button_x=button_7"? Buttons 1-5 are already taken by P, K, S, H, and D.

Oh, BTW I use PS2 controller analogue, not normal D-pad.

You need to download the keyboard file first, from here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NMAKOPU6

Put that in your QKOJamma folder and map buttons with that

You're not changing your files in the QKOjamma folder at all, you're just mapping xpadder so that whenever you press the specified button, it emulates that button press as a keyboard press, which gets read by the keyboard configuration.

Edit: Here's a picture of the general idea

May want to right click -> view image. It fucked the resolution

I'd like to see your I-no.
You will not be disappointed.

Also, if you don't mind my asking, where do you reside, FL? I'm just trying to keep a mental note of everyone I could possibly play once I get a computer strong enough to run AC without any problems.

We're able to play. I've played you b4 on #R online way back b4 AC online. AC requires more to play than #R? I thought they ran on the same engine.

Well, #R is a real PC game years and years old, while AC is emulated (naomi emulation is pretty young too), since there's no PC version of it, so it's naturally going to require more. Teyah or someone else can probably give you more accurate specifics.

To put into perspective that running AC requires more, I have an old Pentium 4 3.05 Ghz, with an integrated graphics chip, and I can run PC #R perfectly. However, when I try to play AC, I see nothing but a mostly black screen, and that's because integrated graphics chips suck.

Posted

I see. That sucks for you. I got a new PC [3.2 ghz, 4 gig of ram, Gforce 9800 graphics card] so no way I could tell without seeing the specs.

Anyway how is "ping over" in this version? That crap was one of the reasons I had to stop playing #R. No lobby just amplifies the situation. I wouldnt be to happy if I found a challenger then their ping was out of range.

Posted

I don't think there is any real "ping over," since there isn't any lobby. You just find what someone's ping is and adjust the delay accordingly, or increase it if it's lagging.

I just come from a 25 winning streak with :PO: on DEmul :yaaay:. I gotta say that while it worked very nice (compared to other emulated fighters like 3S, SFA2 and JoJo on GGPO/Supercade), it makes no sense for real matches. FRC timing completely disappears with even the slightest lag, and that's inevitable (maybe on a LAN? even then the emulator isn't perfect). Anyway I had lot's of fun messing up the other's guy timing mashing FD, it seemed to make everything work shittier .. (don't do it in a serious match though, it was just for fun :keke:).

Posted

iirc, the first post adjusted already, most players use nullDC + qkoJAMMAplugin. Plays a lot better(at low pings FRC timing is easy) and desyncs a lot less. </shameless advertising>

hey reaVer, thanks a bunch for this. shit is awesome.

any plans on supporting analog button inputs anytime soon? i'd rather not have to swap the disconnects in my hrap every time i wanna play online.

Analog buttons should be axes, whenever the threshold is reached, that axis is considered to be active. Unfortunately, I recall Microsoft binding 2 buttons to Z+ and Z- giving 2 readable values under the same axis. The library I use however(SDL) doesn't seem to support this. I also doubt that any multiplatform library available is able to deal with this issue. Soon I might port nullDC itself to multiplatform as a whole(Linux, Windows, MAYBE Mac; but I don't own a Mac) and then I will have access to GUI building tools that allows people to just press buttons for whatever they are binding.

In my boredom yesterday, I created a very, very simple gui launcher for AC, with netplay settings

http://nehle.net/ggn/Launcher.rar

However, it also requires an updated version of nullDC (The one that supports launching roms from command line)

http://www.emucr.com/2011/05/nulldc-naomi-svn-r134.html

It's really simple, but let me know if something doesn't work/needs improvement

Edit: Since it's so simple, I haven't added any error handling to it. So, you know, don't intentionally try to break anything at this point :I

Edit 2: Also require .Net framework 4 cause that's how I roll

Good job, nehle.

Also, I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to start a thread where we can post up our location by region. I find that sometimes when I am about to play someone from steam or the irc channel, they're from europe or the other side of the country or something. Having a list of people that actually play this online, where they live, and what the best way to reach them is (im, irc, steam, etc.) might help us figure out who we should be trying to have matches with since we don't have a lobby or anything. If you think it's a good idea feel free to start a thread somebody, or else let me know and I can.

If we could find something to replace that broken competition map and apply it specifically for GGAC netplay, that might work better...

Lobby is the next step. The Launcher was made just to make sure it was doable

wow nehle still plays gg?

Dude, I never stopped. I just stopped playing online :P

Why can't it be done yet?

I'm working on it, but I just started recently and wanted to do the launcher before the lobby, since everything it needs will also be needed a lobby system

I'm doing good. Luckily we still have people in Sweden who enjoy playing Guilty, and hopefully I can find more people to play online soon :)

You still playing #R Online? :P
