Sophisticat Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 Meh, Mugen isn't what it used to be. Now you can't insta-kill someone, and it depletes much faster. You can combo into it, but you're getting what? 8k at best? Still cool to use, though.
mAc Chaos Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 That's what I was thinking too, lol. INGRATES Chances are by the time you get 8 stars you've done at least 2k to them though. Still, a normal combo with 8 stars could probably do a similar amount of damage. Or just 6k off 3 stars and a reset. I'm too greedy. :P
Schneider-X Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Its nice that they made it easier to combo into mugen for Extend. Were you ever able to combo into mugen instant-kill someone in the previous versions? I remember you could do it off of a fully charged 6C, but that hasn't changed in any of the versions so far.
IndigoNovember Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I'm just happy I can use Mugen to do an unburstable 5.4k on my friends when they're being dumb ┐('~`;)┌ .
Moy_X7 Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Good to have ya Moy. Come for the counters, stay for Hotaru. Nope, never mind. I played Haku for a bit and then went back to my mains... it felt odd, it felt... wrong. All those links and the limited movement, it just doesn't feel right. I remember why I never picked Haku in the past. His fighting style just doesn't suit me. I need to be running around all over the place and pressuring my opponent non-stop. The counters and Hotaru are extremely tempting but not enough for me to adapt to this type of limited fighting style.
Darkside937 Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I like Mugen. It's situational sure, but by the time you get 8 stars it's likely they have less than 8k health anyways. It's also nice when going for the kill for an unburstable 5.4k after a 6D. The main problem with it IMO is the limited ways to combo into it, but the new setups look sweet.
kotokot Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 (edited) it's still hard to do 6C on right height and have 8 stars. But it's cool knowing that you can turn your jab into 7k+(and will never do this)) Edited January 26, 2012 by kotokot
BladeOfJustice7 Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 It may be tricky, but I see potential use for it into the future with csex hakumen now. And it makes him even more of a threat in the corner.
Arcknight Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I forget Mugen is even there most of the time(same with Revolver Blast). It just seems like a waste to me. It's cool as hell though. Just entirely too impractical. By the time you can use it it just doesn't seem necessary. I am with Mac on this one. :P
kotokot Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 i've just noticed, that canceling dash into jump gives more horizontal speed. Was it in cs2 like this?) i wish dash can be canceled into normals like Carl extend dash.
mAc Chaos Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 What do you mean by canceling dash into jump?
kotokot Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 What do you mean by canceling dash into jump? you can cancel forward dash into jump on 1-4F
itsme Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Speaking of Mugen, does Green Burst Mugen Shippu still do 4k? I'm just asking this entirely out of curiosity and I have no reliable way of testing it right now.
Darkside937 Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 For Mach step, I don't remember it increasing momentum in CS2 (I could be wrong though). What's the purpose of it? I remember when they added it but can't think of any reason for it existing (maybe it could be used for making hops safe early in the animation during superflash by jump-cancel-barriering?).

I'm just asking this entirely out of curiosity and I have no reliable way of testing it right now. If you don't get hit by the burst, the shippu will do 4.8K because of the damage boost from Mugen. I think 669, was only used after 6D because some character's aerial hitbox was too narrow and the j.2A would whiff.

Darkside937 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Wait, Green Burst? Not Gold Burst? Yep. Green burst can sometimes be combo'd off of, but prorates terribly (for example, Carl's green burst into Ada's clap). Since shippu is so much faster in CSE, it might be possible to get 4k from green burst since it still does 100% minimum damage in mugen mode. I don't have CSE yet so I can't test though.

severin Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 trying to optimize combos and such I should be getting 4293 from corner 2B with 3 stars, no? 2B Renka(1) Kishuu 6C 2C sj.B j.2A j.2C 6A 5C 2C j.B j.2A j.2A airdash j.2A j.C 5C 3C
Spark Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 That's about it, you can get a bit more damage and meter if you get the level 2 6C and then 66 into 2C. Other than that that's it.
kotokot Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 i think it's with 6C lv2 damage. other combos do same damage , with 6A and default loop i've got a bit more 4300, so i think it's just matter of taste what combo to do after renka kishuu.
