mAc Chaos Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 They've been on a crusade against counters since CT, lol. Looks like they're not going to give up til the D button is disabled. Oh well, at this point after the big CT > CS1 changes I'll play him even if they replace his character with an anvil with a sword on top named "HAKUMEN." That Tsubaki slide was pretty awesome though. When they first did it I thought it was dumb, but it ended up making Tsubaki good all around. Without airdash j.2A his entire combo style will have to be thrown out. He'll have something totally new.
ultimatefaust Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 wait.. is there anyone who can test this? haku can still do 6A>6B> any D or either or by themselves into any d right? ..... and then he can special cancel out of his Ds now? i mean like.. doing 6A> 2D>cancel into an immediate renka/zantetsu? i dunno that sounds nearly amazing.
mAc Chaos Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 It's unclear if the D cancel is from a whiff, or active instantly, or only after a followup or what.
xlolxlolx Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 uh lets see.... 5c>enma>j.2c>2c>j.b>j.2a>dj.b>agito does around 3.1k so j.2c>2c floats low enough for j.b to connect now, i wud assume that j.b>j.2a>j.2c wud still be possible in corner big dmg still comes from renka>kishuu>stuff from wut i sounds like
SteelCoil Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 If this Agito hits low enough towards the ground, it might be possible to do it off an instant j.B overhead. Maybe you can get a knockdown or something? That would be pretty good for an almost meterless instant overhead that can be done mid screen. And if by chance it hits lower than Tsubaki does, you would also be able to combo off of instant j.B in more situations too, like against Relius. It'd be nice if we had a picture or something.
ultimatefaust Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 yeah kinda is a bummer that there is no footage whatsoever of this..
dioxideUniversa Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Without airdash j.2A his entire combo style will have to be thrown out. He'll have something totally new. Pretty much this. Though I had a reaction towards them changing j.2a for the same reasons as everyone else (a frowny one), it doesn't mean he's not going to have new combo paths that may be just as good or better, pending on how you are looking at it. Making him more midscreen-centric does not mean he will not have corner combos necessarily. This sort of thing comes up every loktest. They changed Tager's collider combos (finally) in CSE; this isn't really different, except Hakumen is only on the fringe of getting a major combo overhaul until CP, it seems. Either way, new combos are fun. Hopefully they aren't terribad. I don't particularly understand putting extra start up on 6d--what is 5d for? Either way, removing the ability to frame 1 high attacks damages his defense, as he would have nothing but Yukikaze to stop meaty overheads on wakeup.
Wander Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) I hope his counter is still unblockable and negates stuff like Platinums bubble, etc. I depended on that so much. Edited August 7, 2012 by Wander
Fireriku546 Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I hope so too, Hakumen just wouldn't be the same without his insane counters. Although I do wish to see more love to his As and Bs.
xlolxlolx Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 crush trigger is a swing with his saya from the side they said it looks pretty cool 6a still works as an anti air, no wallbound 4c unchanged agito's animation is a kick if you hold 5d the counter wont come out, the circle thing continues to stay out i guess?
Isuna Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 According to JBBS, the thought of the new 6D is to give us instant 2D, middle 5D and slow 6D. Why the hell we would want something slower than 5D is beyond me. Apparently if you hold or press A during successful 5D you get an Emma for 1 magatma. But apparently 5D can be blocked. yeah kinda is a bummer that there is no footage whatsoever of this.. They are guarding the the loketest quite strictly, so it is hard to get footage.
MAdBater Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 how does crush trigger work with hakumen's meter usage? That info might be somewhere on dustloop but i have not seen it.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Theoretically his guard crush would cost 2 stars since that's 25% of his meter.
xlolxlolx Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 they say his is probably one of the better ones cuz its around 5c reach
Gemakai Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Does anyone know if can you special cancel out of a Crush attack? I can imagine people using his crush only to kishuu (command dash) forward to try again, or to begin a mix up grab if they have Barrier. If Hakumen's Crush really is that good, then opening up people might be Haku's specialty
xlolxlolx Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 doubt it, sounds pretty awful anyways cuz itll cost 2 stars to do it then another 3 to even get dmg off it......
Gemakai Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 doubt it, sounds pretty awful anyways cuz itll cost 2 stars to do it then another 3 to even get dmg off it...... Maybe just 4 minimum to do decent damage. Cancellable or not, after the guard crush, the opponent should be stunned enough for Haku to enma into a decent combo. Still, it is half your meter.... though there is that overdrive so it might balance out.
xlolxlolx Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 why would you waste meter for a shitty enma combo when renka kishuu does like so much more lol
mAc Chaos Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Not gonna get the IAD j.2A part of it though. You could do something like charge 6C > stuff perhaps.
Gemakai Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) Not gonna get the IAD j.2A part of it though. You could do something like charge 6C > stuff perhaps. One combo I've saw is something along the lines is enma>j.2c>2c>j.b>j.2a>dj.b>agito back a page or 2. The full combo listed did 3.1k which sounds pretty fair. Not sure how much damage proration the guard crush would do, but it's an idea. Edited August 7, 2012 by Gemakai
Sophisticat Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 Hmm... weird changes, but I'll take it all at face value right now. I'll rage later if needed. For j.2a, maybe switch to j.C -> low IAD? Dunno if that's possible. ._.;
