Okay. Must be a really fast input. To me, Hazama's combos in CS2 are much harder intuitively and the timing is more strict. Could be my imagination since I don't have the muscle memory yet... But then again, every combo for Hazama in CS1 was extremely easy. The only semi-difficult one was the double Houtenjin combo.

Harder isn't the right word. He still only has 2-3 combos max, they're just longer and require more specific situations than CS1.

The only thing harder about hazama is hit confirming anything in to big damage.

PS. It's not a full dash. For example, videos show command throw dash up 5a or 5b. That's the type of dash you do after j6dd. You should barely notice it.

Isn't the dash here like the 6C after a forward grab in the corner? Cause that would make a lot of sense since the dash is sorta looks like the 6C motion itself. Hazama does a moonwalk.

Are there any good mixups involving hazama's drive?

Yeah, there are the A/B/C followups already in the game but, I'm talking about other things. I've been trying to figure out good ways to fake out my opponent. Stuff like using using 2D~D quickly, then doing J2D~D immediately after and attacking. I know it wastes drive meter but i want my movement to be more unpredictable.

Yeah, there are other mixups. Watch professional Hazama players, and you'll see the strategies they use. One of them Buppa tends to use is 5D~D followed by j.4D~D, or j.6D~D depending on your position relative to the opponent. Zidane often uses j.4D~D without letting it extend at all, which causes you to fly directly at your opponent if you're positioned correctly.

Hi, just trying out Hazama to see if he is a suitable main for me. A question:

Its embarassing to say, but I'm having difficulty landing the jCx5 jc jCx5 parts of his simplest combos.

I find I tend to land during the second set of jC's. Whats the trick to doing this consistently? I've tried various combinations of jc'ing as soon as I can, pressing jC five times carefully, mashing jC as quickly as I can, etc, but cant quite get it to work consistently. (oddly enough, i have greater success on pad even though I'm a stick player. I wonder if my adaptor for my stick has input delay? its not supposed to... its an inpin...)

Any tips would be appreciated!

It's pretty much muscle memory for me unlike any other typical JC combo like Valk's j.B > JC > j.B > JC > j.C

Posted

That's fine, but to get the muscle memory I have to know the correct timing in the first place? It seems like if I just naively do it as fast as possible, it doesnt work? So are there delays in there I have to wait for?

Any tips on the j.6D follow-up after 623D? It's the only part I'm dropping like crazy.

So for me it's like...

DAN DAN DAN DAN DA- j.C DAN DAN DAN DAN DAN kirisaki.

That's for CS1 though. I have another thing in mind for CS2.

Honestly, this parts pretty easy in CS2. The hardest part is the Dash 6C after j.6D. But make sure you're using 6D~A, 4D~A, and j.7D~A before 623D. Just hold up (9) during the ending animation of 623D, and as soon as you see Hazama leave the ground, press j.6D. I get it pretty much everytime using that method. Hope it helps.

I don't hold it. I just press it when I think the link would work. There's something about that 6C followup that pisses me off. I've been doing back jump and I got it all the time without even a dash. But I thought I was supposed to jump backwards for Rachel. And jump straight up doesn't let me link 6C after the j.6D and neither does forward. Then back jump stopped working too. So confused on the conditions that have to be met. I wished someone would hurry and translate that 30 min tutorial :V

I have never had a problem with dash 6C after j6DD. As far as I know there's no special trick to it. I do j6DD 66C and it works every time.

Fails every time for me, lol. But it could be due to the terrible PSP D-Pads. This is why we need the CS2 patch as soon as possible on the PS3.

I'll give it a shot, thanks for the help.

How do you make that 6c autocorrect after a 214D~C in the corner ? I cant land that at all, and when i do its just random.

when you dash into the corner don't "auto correct" yourself i guess that's how i'd put it. your character will turn around and you think you're doing a 4c but it'll come out as 6c if this makes any sense.

just 66C or 6N6C

also press the C of the 214D~C when the other char is coming down and it's on the same height as the combo meter and do the 6N6C and it should work

Now that CS2 is out on PSN, will there be a combo / FAQ for CS2 Haz? I'm pretty lost right now.
