Wow I agree with this o_o. Closer than team stickbug imo

Keep in mind St1ckbug tier list was like in only a little bit after Makoto release, some people were still figuring stuff out, and way too many people were involved in making it. Makoto was only low because no one knew where to put her yet. Also that's just my opinion, so don't take it to heart! The last CS1 tier list is a bit different than that . ..

LK, could you please evaluate this Litchi:

Winner's Finals. Bad Q. Bear with it.

Grand Finals Better Q, but it's a blowout...

I've been wondering how he fares in the eyes of the master. He's the local powerhouse. :]

It looked like he was just playing Litchi instead of playing Litchi vs Ragna. If NerdJosh practiced before this tourney, Vice-Taichou might've lost. I dunno how much tourney nerves factored in but -

1. I thought his neutral was weak. Staffless play was just 5DD > airdash after it, this loses really easily. When he did have the staff he just sorta frolicked around until he got a hit.

2. Pressure was weak. I won't go into this too much since NerdJosh didn't play and he was probably just taking advantage of it, but too much 5C > 3C. Staffless pressure was too freestyle and unprepared (lots of 2B > 2C whiff).

3. Really poor meter management. Midscreen daisharin in pressure is a terrible option. Random fullscreen daisharin to approach is pretty much unnecessary. 6D > RC > 5B? Dunno if that was an input error or not, but definitely not a good choice of meter.

4. Combo parts weren't up to snuff, but that just varies by player. His confirms were very nice.

Overall some of it might've just been nerves (I can't say that I haven't dropped combos in tournies) but the play in general was just too wild.

I think Noel is definitely tourney viable - but Noel can't win tournies (unless that's what people mean by tourney viable).

Yes, that's what it means. What else could it mean :P

Having seen Vice-Taicho play a lot I can tell you that tournament nerves/general apathy have at least something to do with that performance. CH j.C[m] 3C[m]? Daisharin instead of tsubame gaeshi (or an AA) in the first round? Daisharin in general? He usually looks far more solid than that.

In the end, you don't want to think too hard about that while your playing, because it should just be obvious - just look at the screen lol.

This is the problem.

I find that I am entirely unable to strike a balance between not thinking at all and overthinking. I can play against a lot of players (and even players at my skill level) without having to think about what I'm doing because I just know what I'm doing. However, this train of thought is obviously problematic when it comes to things that I can't just counter unconsciously, and when something like that comes up I'm overthinking and I've lost. I suppose part of it comes down to the fact that I simply don't know the efficacy of my other options as thoroughly as I do the ones that I use frequently so I'm not inclined to employ/fall back on them and then I get stuck thinking really hard about under what circumstances they might fail in the absence of consistent and focused practice against the players that beat me (which I can't get; the closest I've got is online which gives me a pool of a few hundred players to adapt to, which is great for establishing general strategy but entirely worthless for establishing character- or situation-specific routes of resolution).

Litchi at least requires execution.

i don't even understand?

what does that have to do with people complaining about how they are sick or the tv is laggy?

Also team Stickbug is Hazama biased lol (not to say he isn't a great character >_>)

Just at that point, everyone thought he was that good.

Yeah I dunno Huey when I made that post I wasn't feeling too well, and my keyboard was acting up.

Legititmately funny troll post by Dacidbro.. what is the world coming to?

hey.

"This stick has lag on it"

its the PNW favorite now lolol (that wasn't you btw)

Serious reply is serious:

Not to add fuel to the fire but several popular sticks have been proven to have minute amounts of lag. Additionally there is the distinct possibility that a small amount of lag is introduced in dual mod setups. That said, the amount of lag should be inconsequential for actual gameplay and if you believe either of the above is actually affecting your play then you're either playing a game with extraordinarily restrictive timing or your just looking for excuses.

Does advanced input help to always get level 3 drives with Makoto no matter what T.V you're playing on? I hate having to adjust to CRTs/HDTVs/Plasmas every fucken time I have to go to some kind of tourney/meet up.

As far as I know, you can't cheat anything that already involves a held input.

Advanced input is a system in BB where, if you hold a button, the game repeats that input for the next 5 frames. This makes alot potentially hard links super easy. However, because of how it works, there are still some situations where it doesn't really help, usually when dashes get involved.
