Starlight777 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Everyone knows that "Round 1, Fight!" is so last decade.
Hecatom Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 i think that if the words for replacing the round # fight make sense in the context of the game they could be a nice touch like "The Fight for Retribution, Battle #, Decide The Destiny" that shit is mad hype if you ask me
MetalMaelstrom Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Big story twist, you guys: they're all lawyers

Sahgren Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) From the description, GRD Vorpal occurs every ~15 seconds and gives the person with more GRD gets a boost to their offense/defense. Speculation: It seems like the bonus to offense/defense comes from having more GRD during GRD Vorpal or possibly simply from just having GRD Vorpal without caring about how much GRD you have, not just having a static boost from having more GRD. That means it's more of a scramble to have more GRD than the opponent rather than just keeping it as high as possible. That makes Gordeau even scarier, since his GRD stealing c-grab means that him having momentum means that he almost always has GRD Vorpal on his side. Edit: A attacks seems to prorate more strongly than in MB. During the Orie vs Linne video, each added (what I'm assuming to be) 2A seemed to cut off ~400 damage per combo. Aureliano Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Dem waldstein claws need some textures yo
Sahgren Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) Three more videos. Ok, technically 1 match video and 2 videos of someone recording the standard demo play that occurs when noone is using the machine. We can still get info off of them. Orie vs Waldstein and Orie vs Hyde Nobody Touching The Machine 1 Nobody Touching The Machine 2 I may have to rethink my assumption that 2As prorate more strongly than in MB. It may just be that GRD does just give a static bonus to offense/defense (like it was originally translated) and that's messing with the damage rather than the 2As. Sahgren Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Orie vs Hyde x 2 Damn, Orie is super popular. Though it might just be that this guy is just filming the Orie matches. GRD Vorpal seems to give an ~20% damage increase.
Rishtopher Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 This might have been said/asked already, but does anyone get the vibe that Orie's design is somehow influenced by the P3 protagonist? I think it's the blue hair and that her power is named Thanatos. Plus that thing she summons looks like a Persona to me. It's petty blurry though. Of course it could just be coincidence, but I'd personally think it would be cooler if it was true.
Hecatom Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) i have a question, does this game has a reverse beat mechanic like mb? and i have to say that i like what i have been seeing so far, the whole cast, so far, looks interesting and has stuff that i would like to try or stuff that reminds me other chars that i used to main or play with, also the range on this game seems huge compared to other games, lol, kinda makes me wonder why they decided to give them so huge range and limit the air movement by making the air dashes take 10% of the super bar btw i like how orie has a zettai ryouiki grade a, but you cant see it with her long skirt Edited February 20, 2012 by Hecatom
Sahgren Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 If the game has reverse beats, I either haven't seen them or people are refusing to use them. Range does seem pretty crazy, especially like you said with movement being more restricted and the sprites being bigger. I do have to wonder what the neutral game is going to be like.

FB said at some poit that they wanted a game with more ground work than mb im gonna asume that its why the cast so far has tools with a wide range to deal with air aproaches and why they put the metter dependancy for the air dashes its not like i think that the range its crazy, but compared to other games, the range of the normals and specials seems to be very very large
BlueSky Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) Im fairly sure gordy and waldstein will be capable of comboing character from half a screen away lol. Orie's stand is looking good here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zOuE_xV_74&feature=related) Don't know if this has been posted yet... but gord has a ragna color and orie's stand is looking fun ^_^ Edited February 21, 2012 by BlueSky

SoWL Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I wonder which character that shrine stage belongs to, cuz it's funny hearing a hardcore metal theme in this one. lol I'd bet on Yuzuriha. That is, if the stages belong to any characters at all.
Sahgren Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 (edited) The next loktest will reportedly be held on February 25th and 26th. I'll admit, that's sooner than I was expecting. Unfortunately, it doesn't say if it'll be a different build from what was shown at AOU. Edited February 22, 2012 by Sahgren
Hecatom Posted February 22, 2012 Author Posted February 22, 2012 well, at least this means more videos
