I just managed to catch Vatista's arcade playthrough... guy kept on skipping scenes but I got to see the ending just in time.

Its not anime if the MC doesn't get the Loli into his house.

Now I see LOL

wow this game....very intimidating 1 touch can easily cost you 40~60% of your characters life, doesn't even seem to matter if the hit is counter or not :<

and really what is the point of the meter other then veil off you seem to get it all back afterwards...

BB, P4A, Marvel is the worst. Most games have damaging combos. You need to watch more High Lvl matches. The meter is used for push blocks, air dashes, specials, etc.

as far the meter goes i saw the character did lose it after veil off then transferred his grid to meter.

It has been bothering me for a while, but... why do you translate EXS as Exist in your videos?

Well... EXS, Exist, Manifestation, Power of Manifestation and "Power of The Night" all mean the very same thing. I sometimes use Exist instead of EXS simply because it's easier to understand, for someone who doesn't know UNI very well, than those three letters. These "chuunibyou"-styled names in this game are kind a bothersome... It's like, why people don't call this game's health bar "Vital Vessel" gauge as the official name goes?

Edit: Oh, official page has been updated. Surprise, Hilda will be officially released by tomorrow! No other changes to the current system.

Yea saw the post this morning from UNIB.

I guess the last recording from the UStream will be today then. Better get those Hilda matches up!!

Need to find other stream to record. Better than UStream hopefully.

2D FIGHTERS

Within the context of 2D fighters, abare refers to a character's ability to deal damage off of random hits and trades.

An example of a character with good abare in SF4 is Ryu, who can deal damage off of just about any of his moves. Another example is Slayer in Guilty Gear Accent Core, who can do a good amount of damage off of just about everything he has.

3D FIGHTERS

Within the context of 3D fighters, abare refers to a player's tendency to attack when he's at a frame disadvantage.

Although some look down on abare play as being a crutch for players with weak fundamentals, abare is also seen at high levels of Virtua Fighter play; there is good abare (attacking from a mild disadvantage with a fast move) and bad abare (mashing 2P).

BTW, apparently the use on 2d fighting games is incorrect due the meaning of the word abare, some people theorize that is something that got lost in translation

I always saw abare as being 2 things depending on whether we are talking about a player or a character:

Character-wise: what heca's post says, its ability to deal consistent damage off random hits.

Player-wise: the player's own ability and reflexes to react to random hits/hit-confirm and convert to efficient damage.

Am I wrong? :psyduck:

accurate or not, this is how it is used the vast majority of the time in the English-speaking fighting game community, generally with regards more to the character's capabilities than the player, such as GGXXAC Slayer

What does pressure mean?

forcing an opponent to while shutting down most of the options in the attempt to build yourself meter, get them to make a mistake and capatalize off said mistake, or just general keep them blocking, shut them down.

No the GRD meter isn't like the Guard Libra (at least not in functionality, but it does indeed work on a tug-of-war mechanic)
