You don't have to hook a PC up to a monitor, everything has HDMI hookups nowadays... Steam just recently released its Big Picture Mode in testing exactly for the purpose of using your PC to game in a home theatre experience, on the big-screen television. And even without that, it's easily possible to set up your PC to play nice with the intent of browsing/gaming on your television.

Regardless if it made it to PC or console, you'd see this game at EVO. It'd have a side setup somewhere, guaranteed.

Regardless of it making it to PC or console, this game has almost no chance of making it as an EVO main title.

I see no problem. :D

^ You got a point there! And i think too this won't be in the big screen at EVO regardless if it is for console or not. I still like my ps3 to play fightings and some good titles, and my pc for RTS, maybe Shooters and some solo games. And I'm still thinking steam isn't the best place to export it, a lot of steam games are cracked and people will exploit it. Maybe not us 'cause we would like for them to continue developing, but not other FG players or generally a lot of players and that could cost them (Let's hope that's not the case). The thing the bugs me is why did they almost abandon upgrades/support for PC melty, stating that it would kill the community, and now they come with a PC port for UNIB? Anyway, I'm still getting the game and I need a new PC either way and next year i will be working so i guess i can afford a good one for UNIB. :)

From the interview to French Bread:

- Melty Blood HD is sort of a reality, it was tested at some point and they didn't want to continue because they want to see Type-Moon keep going with Tsukihime before do something.

This is a good position to take.

- Sion on UNIB was, in fact, the test character of MBHD

- French Bread is afraid of low sales with UNIB because is an original property

- They are interested in bring UNIB for PC on Steam platform!

Sure, theoretically they can get a better sales on the game porting to the consoles, but I understand the hesitation of doing so. Regardless, I think this is an interesting investment into porting it through Steam, especially making it available to everyone in the world. No matter the cost, I'm guarenteed to purchase a copy of it.

Let's hope it'll be on console. All I have is a crappy laptop, and I want to mash while picking Gordeau.

All this PC talk made me realize you guys missed one of the biggest things, what is the problem with Current code if anyone knows? I'll go ahead and answer anyway, you have to exit the game to swap inputs/sticks/controllers, how is this going to work in a tournament setup if you have to exit the game everytime you need to change the device? It needs a console release, that or you'll have to deal with using someone elses stick, might as well cabinet that boy.

if they don't put this game on consoles... then they are fucking allergic to money. that is all

If it was on Steam I would definitely pick it up...but I can only imagine the pain tournament operators would have to go through running tournaments on PCs.

As someone who has played in Current Code tournies...PC only release tends to be a problem :/

This is kind of a small issue when literally everyone and their grandmother has a SFIV TE. And that interface problem is an issue almost exclusive to current code. It wouldn't be unfeasible for them to put a button settings option in the character select screen a la BB.

I like how you guys don't realize how shitty a PC release really is.

We know, it's pretty much the worst thing that could happen to any fighting game.

EDIT: Also for a lot of the people who seem bothered by a PC release I think a lot of the angst here is being overblown or based entirely on conjecture. It's entirely possible to do button set-ups without having to close the game, decent set-ups are not /that/ hard to come by (my heart goes out to all the college kids hustling on their macbook), and as it has been pointed out previously HD output from a PC and specifically on steam is no real obstacle. As someone who's on steam literally every day it's not difficult to see why a digital release is preferable. You're talking about a high-profile network of gamers (of all genres) numbering in the millions, never more than a click away from the store, and with easy access to their own communities by which they can play with and develop a community around a game for. This isn't even beginning to touch on the attractiveness of a digital release to NA/EU simultaneously which would help in cost subversion, but would also help create a stable online community.

+updating games on steam is infinitely easier than it is on PSN/XBLA, and with a game like this already on 1.02 before ever hitting a console/pc release that has to be attractive to the devs.

If it came out for consoles, it'd definitely be PS3 exclusive, and I'm not shelling out 500+ dollars to mod my TE to be PS3 compatible and to get a PS3 + The game.

A PC release is fine, it just depends on if a community is going to play it or not. Just look at GGPO.

It's just not going to work on PC, they might as well just go PSN release instead, PSN has a proven install base with numbers that are there, the PC is just an unknown thing, plenty of people own PCs but how many people actually have PCs good enough to run this game at a full 30 or 60fps, and play online? This causes problems amongst the players. Also screw the macbook owners, I know plenty of you on dustloop only have like 2 games and all you do is play 1 fighter + other said mainstream title when you guys want something you'll shell out for it.

Gotta love all the salt over UNIB being ported to superior PCs. FGs really need to go to PCs, they're just plain better than consoles (only reason I have consoles now is because most games I like are for them) and people need to suck it up and realize that. There's no excuse for not having the specs, you can hand-build a gaming computer that can play Battlefield 3 on near max specs for less than 2000 bucks if you budget right.

I'll make sure to suppprt UNIB's Steam release.

Ok sure, because tournaments have the budget for having a bunch of set ups of PCs that cost anywhere between 600 to 1500 dollars. :s

Consoles are convenient because they are cheap, easy to acquire, universal, and arcade sticks function fine with them.

Even a 40$ video-card can run BBCT.

And yeah, building setups for tournies could be hard... But we don't know how demanding the game would be, and maybe even a cheapo laptop could run UNiB on low settings. Not to mention half world got a laptop and are easier to carry.
