kaeru Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 GET HYPE, c'mon guys, let's invade CANADA !! WOO !!! ......wait a minute..
pochp Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Ottawa huh, haven't been there in a while, it's not even a 2h drive. Fun part is we can go on saturday morning and come back after the event if we feel like it. I think I could go, but I don't really have access to a car.
Brice Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 welp i should be on the other side of the Atlantic ocean during that weekend so I won't be able to go and acquire free money from ontario :P kirbster Pedro or kaeru will take care of it you guys better go there XD
LiveWireX Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 You guys should totally come down. While sure, I'm not 100% sure on all the details as I'm not Krackatoa, I can say it's been way too long since MTL invaded and stole what little money we had. Like, I think the last time Montreal came down here was like, CS2 days.
Bibiquadium Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Foonzo should have this connection so that I can actually use my overlays and a nice looking 720p stream.
Sophisticat Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I'm tempted to do Ottawa. It's on the 16th of March, so I'd be able to go there by motorcycle.
mAc Chaos Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Foonzo should have this connection so that I can actually use my overlays and a nice looking 720p stream. Is this real. How is that speed even possible.
Freezerburn Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 This is result from the venue for our Ottawa event. Edit: Been testing uploading to various servers. Essentially, we are only limited by the servers we're uploading to. We're just THAT non-conformist.
LiveWireX Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I'm tempted to do Ottawa. It's on the 16th of March, so I'd be able to go there by motorcycle. Silly you, cats don't drive motorcycles.
Sophisticat Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Silly you, cats don't drive motorcycles. They may not ride, but they sure can point you in the right direction!
GreeniX Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 This Ottawa tourney sounds like a pretty great idea. All the better if Toronto people make it, since the location makes for a sort of middle ground for the biggest scenes in Canada. (What, there are other provinces? Nonsense!) On a personnal level I don't know if I'm free that weekend, but I will definitely go if I can. I will also frown a lot in the general direction of MTL tourney-going people if they choose not to go because this is a really nice initiative and we should all support it! Yaaaay!
DerQ Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I will also frown a lot in the general direction of MTL tourney-going people if they choose not to go because this is a really nice initiative and we should all support it! Fuck you, I would if I could
LiveWireX Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Sweet, it's good to hear some MTL people on here are thinking of coming out. It'd also be awesome if we could manage to get a couple of people from MTL or TO that play the Capcom games, Melee, or Tekken coming out too as word of mouth and people coming to check it out is always going to be awesome. And if other people show up for some other things, who knows what could happen.
GreeniX Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Fuck you, I would if I could You're not CHOOSING not to go, though. You're already busy that day, tough luck. As a wise and venerable japanese sensei once said: It can't be helped.
Heartless Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) If a car is available, I would like to go. I'm sure "LiveWireX" wants a run back from last MAD. Edited February 7, 2013 by Heartless
Dai_Loli Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Well, is the Melee tourney a sure bet? I could easily relay this info to the MTL Melee posse.
LiveWireX Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 If a car is available, I would like to go. I'm sure "LiveWireX" wants a run back from last MAD. I still get sore some nights from that stuff, I swears. It's funny because every time I'm randomly going through Extend and see that you're on PSN, I'm all "oh shit, son", lol.
Krackatoa Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 My only concern with your schedule is how many numbers you will have versus how many stations. Running 8 games on 8-10 consoles seems a bit short on time, especially if you're trying to sign up many players/students for entry numbers/pot monsters. That's just my take on it, maybe I'm talking out of my ass. Those are just the 8-10 EVO-quality setups provided by GO. I'm still putting out word for extra equipment and copies of games. Since I have some seriously vast resources to pull from, I think I can swing some nice electrical for people who want to bring their own gear. I have two consoles and four extra monitors on my own. They're like 14ms, which is technically sub-frame, but I figure I can use them as scrub-bait while I stick people who actually care on the shiny ASUS monitors.
kirbster Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 If you guys can guarantee that there will be more than like 4 players from Ottawa this could be interesting lol. Also, for realsies this time, I'll pass by tomorrow for some fite. Been way too long!
LiveWireX Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 For what it's worth, there was like at least 6 other than me just for BB and Persona on Monday. Not counting the other like 6 or 7 for PSAS and the couple people doing GG. And keep in mind, this isn't even including the people from HQ or those 2 Tekken/KOF guys I know of.
DerQ Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 If you want more exposure, you could also always post on the MTLSF facebook wall. I figure since it's not even 3 hours away, other people might be interested. Vince from Toronto does it for their events all the time so should be fine. Though you need to ask to join the group and I believe your best bet will be Pierre Maalouf or Vivek Patel. http://www.facebook.com/groups/MTLSF/

I'm gonna be blunt here, if there's 6 BB/P4A players + the 4 or so that would be coming from MTL, that's around 10 players... not sure if I'm willing lose a day of work and spend for a small trip when I'm super broke for that. Still interested though...
LiveWireX Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I understand that, but I have to be honest and say that Krackatoa knows way more about the scene and numbers and stuff for his get-togethers as I've only been to 1 and am unfamiliar with most of the crowd there still. Plus, you also have to understand that Ottawa's known for not having the biggest scene and what scenes we've had have been primarily Marvel and AE, so when it comes to the not-Capcom games we're still trying to grow things.
Freezerburn Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I played BB to see if I could get that rust off. I may or may not need a hyperbolic time chamber.
