Starlight777 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 This was kinda sudden. I think they should've delayed if they were planning this much content. Oh well people will buy this anyway lol. It's a shame that Poison, Alisa, Lili and Elena will all be in a game that I don't even want.

Starlight777 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 But they have to have it for Evo Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk Yeah true, Capcom wouldn't want to screw up EVO. That makes sense.
FormerlyUnknown Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 they only have to have it for EVO cause they decided that they were going to book it for the main stage before they were even done with the game. I personally am not looking forward to the game :p i would only get it for poison+lili
Mightfo Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Then why did you feel the need to start an "argument" about this when what I said was a fairly broad and open ended response (opinion) to pretty much the whole DLC practice in it's entirety. You're defending them like there's no possible reason for people to dislike these things and yet clearly you yourself say you dislike them as well. That's almost hypocritical if you ask me. I state my opinion about the situation, you say I'm "bitching at the company", yet you can say you dislike them as well but somehow that's completely different than what I said? So you still think that adding characters to games after release and charging for them is "ridiculous" and that it is hypocritical to recognize that there is a difference between immediate feeling and how things actually are. ok lol "Clearly you yourself say you dislike them as well." As I already said, I have distaste for some dlc practices(but recognize why some of them exist and dont exaggerate "injustices") but find it hilarious people would bitch about others. I can understand bitching about the MVC3 DLC, but bitching about capcom asking money for lots of (theoretically good) content made after launch? Boo hoo. No different from valk/platinum. It's a shame that Poison, Alisa, Lili and Elena will all be in a game that I don't even want. Yeah, I hope i actually like this game. :/ Glad I can just rent it.
iw2ma Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 So, as costs go up and prices stay the same, more and more games should just not be profitable, creating less desire for investment due to the risk and lack of return and thus games having less money to work with and having less content. So, the industry should suffer because you dont want to pay more for more content. ok confucius, thank you for your wisdom (of course half of this problem would go away if people didnt expect modern graphics) Uuhhh YA?
Blade Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 See the problem is, most of Capcom's demographic is playing Call of Duty when they aren't playing SSFIVAE or UMvC3, so "modern graphics" is the expectation. Anything less is "animu fighting game" to this demographic. ....or should I say, "dumbographic"...?
Jocelot Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I thought the only reason why Capcom uses 3d models these days is because they're cheaper and less time consuming to create then 2d sprites.
DogsofWar Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I thought the only reason why Capcom uses 3d models these days is because they're cheaper and less time consuming to create then 2d sprites. They are . You take the time to create one model, skin it, then animate it. With sprites you have to redraw the character for every frame of movement for every move. And usually they use 3D models in the early stages to see how they move, then draw based on that. At least that's how Arc did it for BlazBlue.
Mightfo Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I thought the only reason why Capcom uses 3d models these days is because they're cheaper and less time consuming to create then 2d sprites. That's probably a lot of it, but part of it is people think that 3d models are better than 2d sprites. also my point about good, expensive graphics ramping up the cost of games is not limited to 3d
MikelAL93 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 LOL Famitsu scores are in. http://andriasang.com/con04c/famitsu_reviews/ The PS3 version got a score of 35/40 (9/8/9/9); however, the Xbox 360 version got a score of 34/40 (9/8/9/8).
Keo-bas Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I'm surprise DLC it self it still frown upon. How can people expect technology and service to evolve with out market practice changing? Certain FG fan base is beyond me. The More character being added to SxT doesn't seem bad. While I at first dislike gems, I can't say I hate the distribution. But I don't like how capcom presented it but I'll be tolerant since this is new concept to explore and their no "How to" for them to refer to.
MikelAL93 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 No disc-only updates for SFxT, all future updates will be available as DLC only. So, I guess this puts that whole "Super SFxT" crap to rest... I'm hoping for Sean and Karin to make it as DLC. Has Capcom finally learned their lesson? or are they just trolling again? If they have learned their lesson, then hopefully a potential CvS3 game would have updates only through DLC.
Kurushii Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 They can still add future expansions and change the name up from DLC. SSF4 went to AE then AE2012 all on the same disc. I never disliked buying a new revision yearly as it gives the devs a chance to add more content besides bug fixes, characters, balances, exc. I personally can't wait to get ahold of the game. To me the combat style is what I wished SF4 series would of been like. I come from a ST/Alpha background growing up so SF4 felt too slow and restrictive for my tastes. I have both the JP and NA LE's on preorder and will be streaming so Dustloopers will have our own stream room to gem it up.
Vulcan422 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 (edited) Akuma Playthrough by JR Rodriguez. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=PHCkwo62BEg And some notes from there -For SF characters, Jin and Xiaoyu are the sub-bosses, and just like Tekken 6 they're in constant Rage Mode/X-Factor (in this case Pandora). With Tekken characters it's Bison and Juri. -Final bosses are Ogre and Akuma afterward. They have a double lifebar, not sure if they can enter Pandora but I think they have a damage modifier to compensate. Also, English VAs for the new characters, so you can decide for yourself whether you want it dubbed or subbed. EDIT: Updated with some tidbits and roles you may have heard them from. Rolento: Alan Smithe (probably an alias for somebody, likely Taliesin Jaffe considering the alias of Alan Smithe is usually associated with directors) Poison: Karen Strassman (Kallen from Code Geass, Soi Fon from Bleach) Kazuya: Jordan Byrne (up-and-coming) Nina: Abbie Normal (also an alias, might be for Charlotte Bell, AKA Mary Elizabeth McGlynn) Asuka: GK Bowes (Felicia in MVC3) Paul: Mike McFarland (Havoc from FMA) Jin: Brad Swaile (Light Yagami, need I say more?) Xiaoyu: Carrie Savage (Does a ton of roles that are too many to list) Role Reprisals The Entire Street Fighter Cast Lili: Joy Jacobson (T5) Heihachi: Jamieson Price (as Taylor Henry, Blood Vengeance) Law: David Vincent (T6) Marduk: TJ Storm (T6) Steve: Gideon Emery (T6) Bob: Patrick Seitz (T6, also voices Hugo) Julia: Annie Wood (T5) Raven: D.C. Douglas (T6) Edited March 3, 2012 by Vulcan422
Tsuki Garyuu Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 (edited) Jin: Brad Swaile Not sure if want... EDIT: It goes to show that you can't play Jin without a bag of potato chips. Edited March 3, 2012 by Tsuki Garyuu
MikelAL93 Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) Xiaoyu: Carrie Savage (Blood Vengeance, credited there as Carrie Keranen) Actually, Carrie Savage and Carrie Keranen are two different people. One is older, the other is younger. Although I thought John DiMaggio voiced Marduk in T6, I guess the credits proved us wrong on DiMaggio. Plus Brad Swaile as Jin is a pretty good choice, considering that he was Amuro in Gundam 0079 and Setsuna in Gundam 00. Edited March 3, 2012 by MikelAL93
zeth07 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2012/mar/03/models-street-fighter-x-tekken-characters-and-alternate-costumes-disc/ Posted by ShiroiKaze on March 3, 2012 at 7:17 p.m. #45 they are totally complete... fully rigged, animation files, voice files, etc... I wasn't able to get the textures to display properly with the software I was using... they just appear as normal maps like on Abel.... expect these characters to be fully playable on hacked consoles in the near future, should be possible by just hex editing Posted by ShiroiKaze on March 3, 2012 at 7:58 p.m. #77 I just sent in an image of Alysa's folder to emphasize these are very complete characters... you will be seeing them playable within a week. Posted by ShiroiKaze on March 3, 2012 at 8:56 p.m. #119 The textures turn out to be a little wonky because everyone also has a pandora texture layered in... not worth the time it would take to figure out how to correct this is software that was designed for ripping sf4 models. You will without a doubt be seeing gameplay vids either from me or someone else soon. Posted by ShiroiKaze on March 3, 2012 at 9:08 p.m. #125 I was lucky enough to get these models off the game somewhat easily... I just used existing tools designed for modding Street Fighter 4. A lot of the file formats are the same... except textures are layered DDS files like those found in Soul Calibur. Also the software doesn't properly display animation... I tested it on known finshed characters like Ryu and also on Elena... both have complete sets of animation, however the software I'm using doesn't display it properly... piece of the geometry goes nuts. Again this is not because the characters are incomplete, it's just there aren't viewer tools geared specifically towards this game yet. Posted by ShiroiKaze on March 3, 2012 at 9:14 p.m. #126 as for why would Capcom leave the DLC on disc... well if the rumors are true then the SF team is hard at work on Darkstalkers 4.... they removed 12 characters from the original roster of SFxT so they could still appear to be supporting the game with DLC while not really working on the game at all... as to why they think we wouldn't catch them... why did Rockstar leave hot coffee on GTA3? --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w97xsUbJHY Edited March 4, 2012 by zeth07
Blade Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Zeth, read my post in the UMvC3 thread...you will laugh. Crapcom indeed.
Starlight777 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 So let me get this straight. 12 freaking characters complete and on disc, endings and all. Capcom is locking all of this as dlc? Capcom your trolling will never cease to amaze me.
Mightfo Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 lmaooo jesus welp, so much for "There's no way they have that many done by now, they're going to make most of the 12 between now and fall." hopefully they'll be super cheap or something. in before they take like 6 months to distribute them

Blade Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Haha that Blanka vid was taken down faster than Blanka can say HURAOUUUU!!
Kyosuke Kagami Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 That's fucking gay. Not buying this. This isn't business / profit / whatever the fuck you wanna call it. This is robbery.
Kurushii Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I care less if they are on the disc or not. If you did your research fully and read you would of saw that things were incomplete on the files. Oh noes another on disc dlc. It's not the first and not the last. Still going to be a fun game, and im not canceling my preorders.
