I wonder if this means his attack changes on who he's fighting or if it's a slight mistranslation and it's a counter.

I think it means that it's supposed to be used as the opponent attacks you. I'm not clear on that.

Pretty sure P refers to requiring a Persona to use the special, which coincides with how Yukiko's entire list is all dotted with P. And it makes sense if you check what specials require Persona, most of them are spells.

If it wasn't know already, the stat chart basically reasons

Top - Use Ease (Ease of use)

Top Left - Persona

Top Right - Aggression Attack (Aggressive ability)

Bottom Left - Rapidity (Speed)

Bottom Right - Defense

Thanks for that. Glad to know I actually read it correctly. >_<

Teddy's "Fake Bear," the notes with the input reads "According to the opponent's attack," so assuming parry/counter.

Edit: oh, already got that. Okay.

Hmm, judging with a 5 point scale that would mean for Chie:

Ease: 4 (So she'll probably be a good choice for a beginner to start with, but not braindead maybe)

Persona: 2 (She must not be as reliant on Tomoe to do stuff)

Aggression: 5 (Rush That Shit Down)

Speed: 4 (Can't say I'm surprised here actually)

Defense: 3 (Average Defense for a fast female rushdown character, sounds like Noel)

I'm pretty pleased at this news, thanks for letting us know what that graph meant, I was completely clueless :v

Yukiko's chart is actually pretty funny:

Ease: 4

Persona: 5

Offense: 2

Defense: 2

Speed: 3

I guess that amazing Persona makes her easy?

From what I understand, Yukiko is a keepaway/zoner that heavily relies on her Persona.

And from what I know about zoner characters, combos are usually short and it's just poking at the opponent with projectiles. Can't say that will be hard.

Akihiko's 214 A or B is "Dageki Mikiri" or literally "Closeout Blow." It also has "According to opponent's attack," so assuming counter.

His notes say "Can be derived in the operation of Ducking and Webbing." I'm assuming it means you can use them during Ducking and Webbing?

I'm guessing Akihiko's hard to use just because he has no projectiles to zone out and probably has a slightly more difficult time closing gaps and requires some skill to stick on his opponent (though I hear he sticks well).

At first glance you'd expect Chie to have that same problem since her limbs aren't exactly Valk tier, but her persona goes forward quite a bit when called, and it pretty fast, so it seems like it would be pretty easy to punish stuff mid-far range.

Just speculation obviously.

Makes sense. It's sort of annoying that "Persona" generalizes all the personas, regardless of how they're used. Oh well, can't ask for too much from a moveset list like this. :P

That just makes Akihiko all the more fun to use (well, for me)

Anywhore, Narukami's stats:

Ease of Use: 5 (He is an all around fighter, so ease of use being that high doesn't surprise me)

Attack: 4 (Not bad. This explain why he bodied Yosuke in that one vid on the MM channel)

Defense: 4 (He had a good amount of HP in P4 (which I'm assuming that's what Arc/Atlus based their defense off of) So once again, not very surprising)

Speed: 3 (I know with Izanagi equipped, Narukami wasn't very fast, I guess this stat is based off of it)

Persona: 3 (His dependence on his Persona is pretty even. He's got moves to defend himself if Izanagi breaks)

Teddie has a 3 in all areas. That's strange.

Anyway here's Kanji's

Ease of use: 4 (Normally people don't call grapplers easy)

Persona: 4

Attack: 5 (Real FABULOUS Damage!)

Defense: 5

Speed: 1 (Pretty much expected)

Mitsuru

Ease of use: 4

Persona: 3

Attack: 2

Defense: 3

Speed: 3

mitsuru's persona lvl is surprising considering only 1 special uses it (outside supers), but the fact she only has 2 specials sorta evens it out I suppose...

also i seem to remember teddie's stats being perfectly equal in the original game (i'm struggling to remember), so I'm guessing they're graphs are meant to mimic the ones from the game, and thus their playstyles mimic them from the game, so it all adds up in a nicely I suppose.

i really wouldn't pay much attention to those charts. they're probably as useful as those power level ranking things in umvc3's bios.

Okay, so I didn't start looking into this until today, and I have to say, I'm really liking what I see. I've never played any of the Persona games, so I don't know many of the characters or the story of the game, so all I'm going to say is Yukiko looks interesting. =^-^=

Dustloop loves Yukiko. :D

I don't know anything about her except that she's supposed to be rich. I'm mainly interested in her because of the fan, I adore women who fight with fans and umbrellas.

Some of the other characters look pretty cool as well, I'll probably sit down and read through this thread sometime to learn more about the characters and how the game works.

Chie and Yukiko all the way.

And I'm going to agree on the Teddie should have had Alice outfit thing.

By the by, how long does it usually take to start getting anything from the loketests? My entire staff has started a Skype campout party stalking a ton of sites just waiting to pounce on it lol

Regardless of the why, DL seems pretty heavily skewed towards Yukiko. :P

I'm likely to main her, myself, though if Teddie gets that Alice costume, or an alternative character Alice!Teddie shows up....

Half a day? Depends, I guess.

I adore them too. Improbable weapons FTW!:yaaay:

Why do people want Teddie in an Alice costume so bad?

Heck yeah dude, they're the best.

I may just have to use Mitsuru as well, in one of the images it looked like she had a chain or whip of some-sort, if she does then she's an instant main for me, because that's my favorite weapon of all time.

Plus, I hear Mitsuru is awesome. :P

I know, right? :(

At least there's chances to edit a existing sprite for it right? Even a mention of it would be nice.

And all the mention of Yukiiko and now mentioning a sprite reminds me I need to get to that Yukiko sprite clean up.

@Starlight: In my case because it was a mix of awesome and adorable.

@Urichi: I thought she used a rapier, but I think she did have a whip in some way. I barely remember P3.

@Starlight: It's basically what Murki said. Add in the fact that he's a fabulous trap, and, well....

Also, I just noticed there was information above Teddie's movelist, so I went through that:

Notes:

  • D attacks cause Kintoki Douji to throw out various items.
  • When "Fake Bear" catches an opponent's attack, an explosive counterattack!
  • Awakened Super Special "Kumada Great Circus" is impossible to block!

    - The D version appears behind the opponent.

Turns out his 'Fake Bear' really is a counter.

Mitsuru's Persona has a whip, not Mitsuru herself.

And anyway I'd give up hope on an "Alice" Teddie, because Yukiko's second palette looks like Alice.

Fair enough. More reason to play Yukiko, then.

But I still want an actual Alice Teddie, complete with the awesome Teddie voice. >.>
