Boredom isn't even the word lol...though I'm not technically bored i have so many games i could be playing that i can't decide.

So i noticed YT has a snowflake option....watched some vintage tetsu blow ups to it, needless to say its godlike lol

Well, something good came out of watching those matches. For one, I got to see Yamachi style on him. Two, he might be on to something here with that DP D(1) > RC > dash under combo. Doing DP D > RC to go from one corner to the other is not an option in this game, so we'll have to work with that dash under. I'll give it a test, seems legit.

I mean, he's solid, he just trips over his own feet from time to time.

DP D RC > dash under 5C > 6C > DP B > 66C > DP C > 5B > 5C > 6C > DP C (3853 Damage/19 Heat Gain).

Not bad, a nice addition to our repertoire. Why didn't we think of this earlier? lol

I just played 3 games of Extend against a Valk... I am sad.

I won but I definitely felt the difference in the 6C and the 214.A. I don't hate Jin by any means because he feels like a much more fun character IMO. I'm over Luna's house and we're gonna be recording Michigan BBCS:EX Day 1 casuals so you guys can watch me get blown up, LOL!

How does the j.C and j.B attack level nerf feel? Does it really make a difference when hit-confirming?

@moy that was really cool i especially like the yukkikaze pause with the last verse of the song but about the tager specific that is really cool i never even thought of that lol good shit

about the 623d(1) rapid dash under thing i remember i used to do that but it got over shadowed by the fullscreen corner carry which did more damage i think we can still do something similar to it though

Yes, it does. I usually use J.B when I'm pretty low to my opponent so I didn't feel the difference that much until I fought Tager where I usually confirm higher, but it's level feels like it's dropped.

J.C has really changed, there is no doubt in my mind that it's dropped.

J.B doesn't feel too much different but J.C is just... *Table-flip* It's still a good spacing tool though.

But I am having hella fun playing this new Jin. It feels as if he's coming across naturally since I was able to hold my own against AXIS.

I did, ages ago, but mentally wrote it off as something to put in a CMV rather than something practical then i forgot about it.

I was listening to random songs yesterday and got to the part in Innocent Sorrow where the music fades for a minute and then returns. Yukikaze RC immediately popped into my mind lol.

I feel like using the DP D cross-under combo leaves you at a more favorable position because of the DP C knockdown. The DP D corner to corner combo usually ends with j.214C and doesn't leave you a lot to work with. That and if the opponent decides to Burst then they'll have their back against the wall if they don't Burst immediately after the freeze or a little before the dash under. I'll look forward to you guys coming up with another corner to corner DP D combo in EX though.

@Shin - Well as long as it's not that hard to hit-confirm off j.B then it's all good.

@Jourdal - I don't blame you, the Heat requirement for that combo is a bit steep.

I do really silly things in arcade or so when I'm bored...sometimes they develop into bad habits (e.g blah blah 3C>214D>3C>214D>3C>214C on whoever it works on)

Removal of 2C > 5C and JC on 2B annoy the piss out of me; it's so unnecessary. 3C > 214A corner oki is pretty cool though. It's one of the few changes that's really good (other ones being 2B P1 buff, faster 623B, 2C P2 buff, Yukikaze catching lows, and 2D primer break).

I didn't take it too seriously i'd wait for arcadia, the general idea seemed on the ball though lol.

Don't worry about it bro, Tager is FINALLY a legit character now. At least you have a fighting chance this time around, LOL!

Thoughts on Extend Jin after day1

- Midscreen game is way more boring and way less rewarding. 6c dash stuff is waaaay more fun then sekkajin combos. 6a being less +f hurts CH combo a lot. You don't get 6a CH into 5c or dash 5b anymore and some chars are too far away to do 5b 5c sekkajin. This coupled with 2c prorate increasing and the inability to gatling 2c into 5c makes his pressure in midscreen much less threatening. The inability to confirm hits that are further away into good damage hurts quite a bit. Not being able to dash 6c not near corner is very upsetting. On the plus side, you also don't have to go as far away from the opponent as you see most Jin players end up after 6c ice car. You can be a bit closer(and still get crossunder) if you delay the C ice car. Also, the new midscreen throw combo is so much easier than in CS2 to get oki off of for better damage.

- Someone needs to find 5b(blocked in corner) IAD j2c combo that lets you sideswap them back into the corner ASAP.

- 2d taking primer is the greatest thing in the universe. It's so nice having practical guard break.

- Jin's corner game is really nice. The increased damage and meter gain on everything minus 2c/6a CH is great. New DP loop takes some getting used to but it's nice that it's still there. 214a ender gives great untech time too to set up jump mixups with.

Overall: You can still play him kind of the same. Midscreen is weaker, corner is stronger.

6A CH > 5C no longer works? Well shit, I guess it's dashing 5B from now on to hit-confirm 6A CHs. That and I'm guessing that the 6A RC window is smaller, we'll need to get better at hit-confirming 6A into RC.

The new standard corner-swap combo is Stuff > Sekkajin > dashing 5C > 2C > 2D > dash under > 6C > 214C.
