geckotide Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I used to consider myself decent. At my best I could hold my own (But still lose time to time) against Kyo Fujibayashi / DarkRT, and at my very worst I just cannot win. I think I'm going to wait until CSE comes out before I start again. New start with the new Mu. I've deleted my second BB account so I've only got one focus. Should be hype. *goes to play AE* And yeah Cookie, The tager that loves his B Sledge and 360B. RE DarkRTBone: > Run under his super jump C > Counter sledge-mashing > Win match > Repeat
pochp Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I was seconds away from giving up my Mu training. How long do you guys took to get good with her? Started playing Mu and trying to get competitive around September 2010, BB:CT was the first FG I played ever, and it was only casually. I'd say I only started becoming decent about a month and a half ago. However each time I find that I'm decent, several months later I think back and realize I really wasn't that good. I slowly got better over time, but I really started to improve over this summer, because we went to a few tournaments and I trained hard for them. I think that's one of the best ways to improve, travelling to a tournament. Not only are you going to prepare yourself for it, but you'll also play a lot of matches (mostly casuals) that will be intense because you want to show the people you meet what you're capable of. If someone happens to play your character you can also learn a lot from watching them or talking to them, and yes watching stuff live is different than seeing it in videos. Next tournament I'm preparing for is NEC, maybe I'll see some other Mu players there? (although preparing isn't very precise, I've been doing mostly studying and league of legends lately )
Lythium Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I started playing Mu when she was first released in CS1, but I didn't really "main" (I guess that would be the term?) her until CS2. I still think I'm pretty bad, haha. But I agree 100% with pochp. Playing with people offline helps, but going to tournaments, especially. It creates an environment that puts a lot of pressure on yourself to play well, and I fiind it easier to evaluate your skill and how you've improved.
cookiehours Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I agree with the offline scene. But as of right now, I don't really have the money for tournaments. I'm talking about someone who plays online in general. Unless she's next to impossible to use online.
bakahyl Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) She is not too hard to use online, eventhough lag will make you drop her corner combos. If there is some kind of lag, then i will use the less optimal combo's instead of dropping your combo and giving your opponent time to get away. edit: i don't seem to have much problems against tagers online though. Just the standard keep away style style with steins and explosions with the occosional 2b and 5c to prevent tagers mashing sledge or when tager's uses superjump simply use 2c or dash under him when he is in the air. Just don't get cornered, limiting your ability to run away. Edited October 19, 2011 by bakahyl
Lythium Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Online is fine and all (better than nothing), but I find there's too much noise. Too many different players with different styles, not enough room to experiment.
SolarMisae Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Been playing Mu since October of last year. I subbed her under Lambda for awhile before dropping Lambchops entirely to main her. imo, I still am not any good with her.
YukiBlue Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I just hauled ass on netplay. Its like i swallowed the red pill and destroyed the lobby. I feel a lot beeter, i managed the 8K FC combo and nailed 666A all day. Tonight was good. Also finished all of Guiles trials on AE.

SolarMisae Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 You looked pretty good fighting Solar. All the vids on that YT are semi-old...and bad. D:
ThunderboltZ28 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 All the vids on that YT are semi-old...and bad. D: Well you're a lot better than I am.
SolarMisae Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 mhm. So I have a doubles tourney on Friday. Wish me luck...although I'll probably go auto-pilot and get impatient like I always do.
Aile Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Good luck : o Curious, Who are you teaming up with? ovo
Julimano Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Someone said Mu figure? http://www.polykarbonbbs.com/showthread.php?t=26083&page=2
Aile Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 It's random, so I have no idea. Oh. When that happens I usually pray I get paired up with a really good player but it never really happens so QQ Hope for the best maybe ;w; Someone said Mu figure? http://www.polykarbonbbs.com/showthread.php?t=26083&page=2 OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD. If the end result looks good, I would buy one if my wallet allows me. I kind of ordered a lot of stuff atm QAQ;
ThunderboltZ28 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Random? I don't think I would have fun with that. We have our first tournament this weekend. I just hope people show up and it isn't like last time where I was the only one.

The tournaments I go to usually has around 20 - 30+ people attending, and a good deal of them are regulars /people I usually play with haha =u=; , but we get new players now and then so tis all good ;w; . which reminds me there's ranbats coming up in my area in two days. Getting hyped, but I don't think I'll use Mu during ranbats. Not so confident with her yet uuu.

The only reason we're having the BlazBlue tournament is because I asked several times. The person running it just kinda tacked it onto a Tekken 6 tournament that will be happening the same day. I know people are going to show up for that and Marvel casuals. Next week they're having a Marvel tournament that already has brackets setup and real prizes.

Sometimes we go to anime conventions to help get more interest in the game.
ThunderboltZ28 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 We only have one small convention here. It just happened two weeks ago actually. My friend and I had BlazBlue setup in the game room, but no one came over to play.
Sphere211 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) It's good you guys have people willing to try >_< There's nothing down here where I am [only thing we have is Box Arena and they don't do BB anymore from what I recalled] and Winter Gamefest only comes once a year so my opportunities to train locally with new players is pretty hard to do. But I am glad I got the chance to play new people and learn a few new tricks. I just wish we had more chances ;~; My friends have been trying to get something going down here but there's just nowhere to go anymore. We used to do it at my highschool but only about 3 people ever played Blazblue with me. I need better ways to spread the love =[ EDIT: Stupid me I forgot about SoCal regionals. herp Edited October 20, 2011 by Sphere211
Lythium Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 You can do it, guys! There was no BB scene in Halifax until I made one.
