Airk Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 When exactly is that cup? And more importantly, how do we watch?
RurouniLoneWolf Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Arc Revo Cup is on May 19th. Can't find any info on a stream yet though. Hopefully, there will be one.
Dreiko Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Tsuabki AH doesn't care which side you're at. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmEBr0MQFyo&feature=youtu.be&t=1m55s
Airk Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 46D cancels out Spike Chaser. Good to know Oddly for something that looks so fierce, Spike Chaser is just a level 1 projectile. That means that every projectile in the game cancels it out. Of course, for whatever reason, the frame data never includes details about projectile levels. x.x
Surf Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 The hell, surprised its a lv. 1, couldnt check at the time. Well, still good to know
FatalCounter Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I was reading Tsubaki dustloop wiki and suddenly I read among weaknesses "difficult to win with". That blew my mind, lololol. It is a bit true and it is also true that we have a good number of Tsubaki players, but is that necessary? Maybe we should put something like "a lot of bad matchups" or precise that someone needs to understand her very well to win vs some characters. I just think it is not fair for people who would like to pick her.
Surf Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 (edited) But she sucks though. All Tsubaki players are secretly masochists. Well, not really a secret anymore once you pick her up But in all seriousness it probably would be better to change it to alot of bad matchups. Edited April 26, 2013 by Surf
FatalCounter Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 yeah we should change that, she is not the worse character in the game in my opinion.
Airk Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 yeah we should change that, she is not the worse character in the game in my opinion. No, I think she pretty clearly is. The only competition is Makoto, who frankly, isn't that bad at all, and doesn't need to fiddle around with a special meter to do actual damage. This is not to say she's terrible or unplayable or you can't win with her, but I don't think she has any competition for the "worst" slot either.
C0R Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 You can argue that she isn't; but that means someone else is. Fact of the matter being that the arguments for other character's strengths are going to be better grounded than Tsubaki's. She's pretty ass.
BatousaiJ Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 We talking CP? Oh man, I didn't know you guys got your copies in already and played all those games against a variety of characters with various skill levels to make that judgement call. I'm a little jealous.
Kiba Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 (edited) That is exactly why I wanted to leave it as difficult to win with because it's more acceptable than the opinions that she has a lot of bad matchups, because you guys do not know if she still retains those in CP. Sure we have videos but that falls into theory fighting. Edited April 26, 2013 by Kiba
Daedron Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 We fought through CS1 and survived those dark days! We saw the light during CS2 and came out on top! Yet again we descended into the dark corners of mediocrity. BUT WE ALL SURVIVED UNSCRATCHED THROUGH EXTEND (sort of...) Don't fret! We will all emerge victorious during the upcoming apocalypse that is CP. This is not the end! We have seen far worrrrssseeee~~~ before. Though honestly, I expect we will not even be playing the current version of CP. There is no way in hell there will not be a balance patch by October 24th. That's almost 11 months after the arcade release after all. Of course, it remains to be seen if that balance patch is actually positive for us or not.

Well Fatal didnt specifiy which wiki he looked at. Thought he was talking EX. Still, no need to be sarcastic
TheGreatReptar Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Wakeup mugen is the truth. Well Fatal didnt specifiy which wiki he looked at. Thought he was talking EX. Still, no need to be sarcastic EX wiki page doesn't have strengths and weaknesses lists.
Surf Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Couldnt check it at the time She looks okay to me in CP. If anything, right in the middle
Kiba Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Ah I understand now. TGR you want to be Tsubaki mod but this is what you'll be saying to your followers? I fear for their safety.
pktazn Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Well Fatal didnt specifiy which wiki he looked at. Thought he was talking EX. Still, no need to be sarcastic All Tsubakis are sarcastic to an extent. This is a requirement to live playing with Tsubaki~

Sure we have videos but that falls into theory fighting. The problem with difficult to win with is that it is pretty ambiguous. There are multiple reasons why a character could be difficult to win with and it would be more beneficial to newer players if it was more descriptive. Difficult to win with doesn't necessarily mean that they are a bad character. They could require perfection at neutral where one screw-up leads to death or have incredibly varied match-ups against the other characters and requires lots of match-up XP and knowledge.

No one should be drawing the conclusion that a character is bad because they are difficult to win with. The aim of the strengths and weaknesses in the overview is to be precise and short, and because of that I'm not gonna be overdescriptive in that section. I can save that for a Tsubaki guide or even include that in the strategy section when I have the game. I see the problem with the weakness I listed and it has been adjusted. It's all good now. There is no way in hell there will not be a balance patch by October 24th. That's almost 11 months after the arcade release after all. ArcSys has NEVER released an independent balance patch for a game of their own IP. Ever. Every single rebalance has been through a completely new version of the game. On the topic of Tsubaki being hard to win with, I can agree. She takes more work for the payout than most other characters. She simply doesn't have any immense aspectual strengths to fall back on. She doesn't have 3+ guaranteed mixups on knockdown, huge damage from random midscreen hits, or bully tools that dominate neutral; in a game where such elements are highly valuable.
