Airk Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 What about doing stuff like 5BB 5CC 22C > 236D > dash 5C 2CC > ender for the added corner carry + damage? Been using that personally a lot lately, mostly because I am finally managing to get the dash 5C to hit correctly most of the time (my execution skills is not what you would call top notch :-)). I've thought about doing this (This used to be a semi-staple combo in CS2, IIRC), but I haven't put in the practice to get the dash 5C spacing/timing down, so I usually mess it up, which discourages me from trying it later, which discourages me from practicing it. Vicious cycle.
FatalCounter Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 (edited) What about doing stuff like 5BB 5CC 22C > 236D > dash 5C 2CC > ender for the added corner carry + damage? Been using that personally a lot lately, mostly because I am finally managing to get the dash 5C to hit correctly most of the time (my execution skills is not what you would call top notch :-)). Is it just me or this combo doesn't work? I do it sometimes when I really want to bring them to the corner, but the second hit of 2CC will never catch your opponent if you start from 5BB. But you can dash 5C > 2C > CAB, pretty easy to do though. The best way to optimize your combo midscreen is 5BB > 5CC > 623C > 214B(w) > jC > djC > j236D > j214B(w) > land 6C > CAB (to remain in the same side, different side from where you started though) CBB (to change side and get back to the side you were when you started your combo). As Kiba said most of time you don't need this, Because Tsubaki runs quite quickly, so you have enough time to get close to your opponent after a ground ender. When your opponent is airbone, you can decide where you want him to be at the end. In conclusion, the best use of a charge is in the corner but if you desperately need damage as we sometimes do, use this midscreen combo. Edited May 3, 2013 by FatalCounter
Mcgreag Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Yea 2CC won't work in that combo. Uh what? I don't know if it's character dependent but it works on ragna at least because I have done it several times last week. You have to dash slightly longer than what is enough just to get the 5C to hit.
FatalCounter Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 That combo doesn't work on Ragna, I just tested it! but 5B > 5CC > 22C > ... works or 5BB > 5C > 22B makes it works but less damaging after all.
Adam0812 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Better off just doing the j.BBC loop unless its a char you can't do it on, can be tricky, but its worth it for the carry and meter
Spring_Raid Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I'm sure he meant j.BB > j.C loop. It's currently my favorite simple BnB combo to do, because it looks so unnecessary XD
Mcgreag Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 You are probably right about the 2CC, I haven't really trained this is training mode but in matches where I done the combo from a couple of different starters including a bunch of 6Bs. Combine that with less than perfect execution and I have probably just mistaken the few that where from 5B for failing due to bad execution instead of proratio.
Spring_Raid Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Congrats to Level5Chan for getting 3rd at Toryuken 2. Was hoping to see you in GF

pktazn Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 They finally released the brackets for Arc Revo here: http://arc-revo-cup.jp/tournament/ (Saw it from stunedge on twitter) In the first round, our beautiful Tsus will be going against: Kuresu vs Pichi (Bang) Konan vs Matoi (Taokaka) Pikuri vs Dogura (Azrael) Kazu vs Hijiriyo (Jin) On the brackets Kuresu and Konan matches are right next to each other so I had to double-take because it sure as hell would have been cruel for them to go against each other in the first round lol. I haven't heard anything about a stream yet but I'm sure if there's going to be one there'll be an article about it here.
BatousaiJ Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Can we expect to see the matches uploaded or is it going to be difficult?
Adam0812 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Can we expect to see the matches uploaded or is it going to be difficult? Arc revo have a YouTube channel and they've been uploading good quality hand cam footage so I hope so
Surf Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I dont expect Konan or Kuresu to make it past round one. Specifically Kuresu. Pichi Bang is no joke. And neither is Matoi Tao. Kazu might be able to. Havnt seen that Jin before from what I know
TheGreatReptar Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Just looking at matchups, Pikuri probably has the best chance of making it past the first round.
Surf Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 But imo hes the weakest of the 4. Tsu vs Bang isnt a terrible matchup. But knowing Kuresu hes either going to win convincingly, or get bodied extremely fast. I still want one of them to get very far at least though.
pktazn Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 Can we expect to see the matches uploaded or is it going to be difficult? If we're lucky the official arc revo channel will upload the whole thing. Otherwise it depends on whether or not there is an archive on the twitch stream or someone records it and uploads it. BTW I've read that the stream is going to be free since it's Arc's 25th anniversary.

I would argue otherwise on Tsubaki vs Bang, although it looks a lot better in CP than in EX. Kuresu just needs to chill on DPs. Usually when he's getting bodied he's DPing every chance he gets. If Konan gets past round 1, he'll probably go really far.

I'll try to catch the twitch stream but we know the Japanese streams can go onto ungodly hours so I would prefer to watch it on my time if it's possible. Excited to see what happens all the same, though.
Kiba Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Konan vs Matoi (Taokaka) Tsujikawa also told me that the event is going to be broadcasted on nico-video and twitch. NO ESCAPE!!!!!!!!!!
