abadlime Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 236C's startup makes it way too easy to snag CH j.2Cs when Hazama glides past your head, while 236C's recovery on whiff is just too scary to throw out there. Besides, for some reason everyone thinks Tsubakis like spamming the 236x series, and are somehow prepared for it. Kinda like how we all brace ourselves for Heart Car at the beginning of a round when VSing a low-level Platinum. That's because most probably did when they first started her out. Wasn't her shield charge + in CS2?

TheGreatReptar Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 It was -5 on first active frame with 10 active frames. There were some sick ways make it hit almost on the last active that people were finding towards the end of CS2, then they nerfed the move to hell ;_;
Errol Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 It's funny because, isn't that kind of like Hazama chains except you're more committed (i.e. worse)?
Airk Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 It's funny because, isn't that kind of like Hazama chains except you're more committed (i.e. worse)? And it only goes in one direction! CS2 Tsubaki was almost balanced to Hazama's level in a couple of ways (lots of plus on block moves) but then they apparently decided that was bad? I dunno.
Mucky Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 My interpretation of CS2 Tsubaki: She had 3-4 godlike moves alongside an arsenal of moves with varying shades of "meh". Then ArcSys decided to balance her out by making all of her moves "meh". The result: Mehbaki.
Daedron Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Meanwhile in the rest of BB land, characters who were never "meh" will never be "meh". Characters who were not "meh" before but were in the previous version become not "meh" again.(except lol under boob) Characters who were "meh" in more than 1 version of the game will undoubtedly never leave the "meh" position unless they get a competent team to "un-meh" them. And now I hereby request that this post + the 3-4 above me are moved to the general discussion, thanks in advance Keebs or Pk.
Daedron Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I'm slowly obtaining the secrets of Kiba's mind. This shall help me in BB land...

Hakumen was "meh" in two versions of BB and in the others he was top tier. Unless you consider CT Haku to be below "meh". I think it is just random if they become good and Tsubaki just doesn't have good luck.
mAc Chaos Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 CT ~> pls god no (but most fun) CS1 ~> almost top tier CS2 ~> meh EX ~> top tier CP ~> accidentally top tier Before CP it was like a yoyo.
toanenadiz Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Hakumen was meh in... CS2? He wasn't? He seemed really weak in CS2 (this is completely from a Lambda's perspective). Did he do better against other characters?
psycofang2 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Hakumen was meh in... CS2? yes and your character was dumb. CT ~> pls god no (but most fun) CS1 ~> almost top tier CS2 ~> meh EX ~> top tier CP ~> accidentally top tier Before CP it was like a yoyo. this is exactly how it went. He wasn't? He seemed really weak in CS2 (this is completely from a Lambda's perspective). Did he do better against other characters? he had lower damage, really depended on getting you in the corner and depended on a good starter, and nerfed meter gain. i think he couldnt combo off his counters iirc.
Errol Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 CS2 Tsubaki: B CS2 Hakumen: B Granted cs2 tsubaki was dumb, they made her decent in the wrong ways.
mAc Chaos Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Dumb doesn't necessarily mean good. I mean a lot of people think Noel's whole gameplay style is dumb and that would be true if she was S tier or B tier.
