from what i know, he's famous for sending mail about ripping your limbs if he ever sees you in real life, i don't remember anything about him ragequitting. That might be it too @_@ i have terrible memory. Still want to fight him myself

CaButler is terrible at this game though. There's no point to play him if you want a challenge, lol. He does ragequit, too (unless he just decided to unplug his router last we played).

All this mention of CaButler... I find it funny. He was actually blacklisted on BlazBlue.com like forever ago, something I never forgot. I did give him a chance however, but he ragequit on me on two different occassions. Whenever he shows up in a room I'm in, I ask the host to boot him ahead of time because I just KNOW he's going to ragequit.

it's kinda funny when people rage quit :) it's like you lost, what do you gain from quitting the game, the out come is the same.

My brother was playing a Jin the other day on my account using Tager, and the guy quit out right before the 720 would have ended the match. It's hilarious how many more ragequits you get with Tager. I don't think I've had a real ragequit since CT but it was my brother's first netplay match in like a year and he got one.

That Manolo guy. You know, the one who beat me because he only keep awayed.

If I knew he was going to only do that, I would of changed tactics.

Damn coward...

Zoning is completely legitimate if you're using a character that emphasizes it. It's just like if you're using Hakumen, why not stall for some stars? If you're using Tao, why not fly all over the screen? If you're using Carl, why not use sandwiches? (yes I know there's specific matchup related answers to all of these)

Same kind of deal here. You play to your character's strengths, and to your own strengths. If you fare better with zoning and keep away, more power to you.

I wish I knew people that played this game in real life. My brothers/friends don't like it and the local scene is all on different fighting games. *sniffle*

I even learned how to play SoulCalibur V because my one friend always wanted me to play it with him, but he REFUSED to play BB. I was all like c'mon dude they're both fighting games.

Somehow the misguided notion that excessive zoning/and or keepaway in a video game is a form of cowardice has become quite prevalent among salty netplayers and many others alike.

Then why is it "excessive?"

Because it is more than what you may normally expect. It doesn't mean it is bad.

I am totally biased towards zoning and keepaway, since it is my favorite way to play.

When I say excessive, I mean unrestrained. Something without limit.

You can substitute that word for many other similar-ish ones if you'd like. For instance; unrelenting, continuous, never-ending, etc.

Enjoy.

Ohgod, Hazama finally passed Relius on "Most Used" for my CSE card.

RIP Relius.

I'm on netplay checking out the rooms right now.

I get soooo much hate for almost every character I main in every fighting game I play (which is accounting for over 10, 15 different characters), but I must say I get the most heat for my zoning characters. I play a more zoning/keepaway intensive Rachel and I've been accused of spamming lobelias, using the frog in a bullshit way, using the pumpkin in a bullshit way, etc. Hell, the frog and pumpkin are called bullshit the moment I summon them sometimes. It also seems that many people find using zoning techniques to open up your rushdown bullshit (especially when the pumpkin beats out their move, I gain CH status and unleash the hurt). I think it's partially to do with the fact that zoning characters in general don't seem as used as rushdown types, so people aren't as prepared to fight them. They lose patience, start going auto-pilot and make the zoner's life that much easier. I do help to calm them down/give them tips around the zoning techniques if they're on mic though. As a side note, anyone who finds Rachel's zoning/keepaway game annoying now is going to downright hate her once we can capitalize on lotus in CP.

Lotus makes her wind stronger, therefore her zoning in general gets stronger. Things fly faster at the opponent and, I think, auto-target the opponent. Also, her corner carry is ASTOUNDING with it.
