Ctrlaltwtf Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) Your time is runnin out, lime. ----- That is a good time to be done. GGs Puppeteer, Speld, Betadood, and Shelledmenace. Edited June 11, 2013 by Ctrlaltwtf
ShelledMenace Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Uhh so tired. GGs Lich and some people in his room, and Ctrl. I didn't really feel like waiting long lol so I just went into training mode for a while after somehow getting my ass handed to me by someone who randoms so hard he might actually be able to defeat the RNG Goddess.
sinder Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 yeah, wtf (why the fuck) do you guys always make rooms for 6 people and WTF (WHY THE FUCK) do people ALWAYS join rooms that are half full, but ignore the empty ones that are listed right under it???
Argent Zero Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Tager & Arakune (Argent), and Mu (Nemesis). My comment wasn't meant to be pessimistic lol. I played better than I usually do today, but my reactions are just a hair off when it comes to blocking overheads/grabs. Hopefully a little more play time will let me defend in time and not get wrecked by mixup. And Elyon...He sent me a message saying I've gotten extremely mashy to the point that I'm no longer fun to play against. I don't know how that's possible because recently I'VE BEEN BLOCKING AND RESPECTING MORE THAN I EVER HAVE. I blocked his Relius mixup until he ran out of Ignis meter, and I rarely attacked to get out of his Ragna corner pressure. I only mash when I think there is going to be a gap that I can actually mash out of. A queston for those who have played me: Do I mash a lot and what should I do instead if I am a masher? Also, this guy came out of nowhere. I just remember seeing him online one day, and he was already good with a bunch of characters. Airk, if you are reading this, I DO mash against Tsubaki You aren't really mashy in my opinion. Elyon is pretty good. I just wished the player would return my Ggs mail.

Yet. Mwahaha. Or something. I've seen Elyon around for a while, and he's...pretty equivalently good (and somewhat better than me, though not "blows me up for free") with like...5 characters or something. (Hakumen, Jin, Tsubaki, Hazama, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.). Oddly, his D-card thing lists him having the most games as Tsubaki, but that was the only character I could fairly reliably beat him as. Woo. :P As for "stuff you might do instead"...uh... backdash, maybe? /useless.
Lich Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) Stuff. I don't think the problem in your play is, "am I a masher or not?" You need to mash sometimes; you can't block forever. Knowing when to mash is the key. I'm going to assume you really meant, "what am I doing wrong?" I noticed a few things when playing you and if you send me a pm I'll let you know. Edited June 11, 2013 by Lich
mAc Chaos Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I was gonna get to that too. There's mashing and then there's mashing. If you are just flailing desperately going "OH GOD WHAT DO I DO" then you're fucking up. But if you are trying to poke out when there's an opening then that's legit. You just have to do it with precision and know what pokes are best for what kind of openings, rather than just randomly hitting any button and hoping it will work.
Lich Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Also ggs to everyone I've played recently. I've been on netplay more than ever but I never give ggs on this thread. lol I just decided to now because... well I'm browsing.
Nemesis Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) @ darkranger -- you use bang/tager tactics with your makoto -- by that I mean on wake up you are very often using 5aaa or something similar to that -- Alot of times i just ate the "mash" or w/e you want to call it -- but you hardly ever truly capitalized on the counter, which may lead players to believe that you are mashing instead of taking advantage of the situation and you do it consistently enough for me to win games via adaptation when I should have lost.......... ... even after losing interest in winning also fyi -- i used/use my subs alot... Yes, yes you do. As for "stuff you might do instead"...uh... backdash, maybe? /useless. yea tell that to TD as he backdashes my pressures like all day and turns them into wiffs lol -- I swear ill learn how to do that Edited June 11, 2013 by Nemesis
Airk Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 yea tell that to TD as he backdashes my pressures like all day and turns them into wiffs lol -- I swear ill learn how to do that Yeah, but TD plays Rachel, and Rachel cheats. :P (Wind, yo.) That said, I actually meant "asking me for advice is useless" not "this tactic is useless". Also, Argent, don't feel too bad, Elyon never answers my mail either. :P
Venussail91 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 GGs to dreadmaniac. Scariest Carl I've ever fought.
Dark Ranger88 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) Hmm...Thanks guys. Mashing 5A on wakeup is an accident that comes from trying to tech. I'll try to stop doing that because I never actually mean to press buttons on wakeup unless it's a DP. I messaged Elyon and he said I was doing it on wakeup too much...so yeah. Also sometimes I'll use barrier to tech, like when I'm in the air. Sometimes that will get crossed up and a B move will come out. Edited June 11, 2013 by Dark Ranger88
mAc Chaos Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Just wait for the right moment to tech and hit it once or twice. That's what I do, although other people just go nuts and mash AAAA, especially characters like Jin that can confirm a j.B out of teching into a combo. That is annoying sometimes.
Goldchampion200 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 i have a lobby people should join it now or DIE

Yea you can, as long as they don't have a command throw/unblockable. Block all day, they go to throw you>tech/jump>suddenly you're back at neutral. There's literally never a single moment where you need to mash on defense. @ darkranger -- you use bang/tager tactics with your makoto -- by that I mean on wake up you are very often using 5aaa or something similar to that -- Alot of times i just ate the "mash" or w/e you want to call it -- but you hardly ever truly capitalized on the counter, which may lead players to believe that you are mashing instead of taking advantage of the situation and you do it consistently enough for me to win games via adaptation when I should have lost.......... ... even after losing interest in winning also fyi -- i used/use my subs alot... yea tell that to TD as he backdashes my pressures like all day and turns them into wiffs lol -- I swear ill learn how to do that Bang can't mash his 5A, so.......how exactly is he or Tager any different from the rest of the cast in that regard for it to be their tactic? In fact some characters CAN mash their 5A while he can't.....

You don't want to block forever because the longer you block, the higher your chances of missing something.
someonewhodied Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 nemesis! we have to play so you can see my new and improved lambderps oki. (As in my old oki but now without mis-inputting things 50% of the time)

Going in Strong!! ADAAAAAAA!'
Nemesis Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 :D Yaayyy ppl vying for my attention -- do you have skype? if so then msg it too me and we will coordinate

You don't want to block forever because the longer you block, the higher your chances of missing something. And if Ragna keeps resetting pressure with dead spike you'll have to do something or you'll just get guard crushed.
